  1. :sigh: what does that even remotely have to do with my statement? where in there did i say that the plan will go off as designed?
  2. I agree. my response was in regard to the quoted material omitting the thought that there was a plan in mind when said draft capital was obtained.
  3. the fundamental flaw in this logic is the basic assumption that the draft capital wasn't acquired with a qb target in mind.
  4. each and every ten minute, 'on the clock' block is going to seem like an eternity. especially if no trade has been made and qbs start to come off the board..
  5. i don't dispute that it a consideration. i just think that on the list of factors to consider, it is not really anywhere near the top. you have your board and depending upon your draft strategy you are either drafting by positional need or BPA. i really don't think you say well, we better draft this guy over that guy in the first because we get a fifth year option on him. sure it is nice to have, it is just not the factor that would potentially make or break the pick.
  6. i don't disagree. my point is that that is significantly more than the OP's statement. thereby invalidating his argument.
  7. John Elway , Kurt Warner, Rich Gannon, Drew Brees, Steve Young and Y.A. Tittle all say hello.
  8. i understood the point. i was actually agreeing with you.
  9. in all honesty, i don't think the 5th year option is why guys get taken in the first round. their projected talent at the next level is the sole reason.
  10. who knew Romo would be a better announcer than QB.
  11. i would trust anything he has to say with regard to what any AFCE team should do outside of the Patriots.
  12. depends on what we could get. a second rounder or part of a move up to a higher position in round 1, yes. anything else, not so much.
  13. IF Cleveland has more wins than the Bills next year, this place will melt down.
  14. if i'm not mistaken, San Fran also has 5 primetime appearances this year as well.
  15. think of the top 5 picks like a commodity. the more that are available, the cheaper they become. however, much like a commodity, the more scarce they become. the more expensive to obtain one will become. if 5 goes to another team that is in the market for a QB, say the Phish then 1, 2 and 4 just became more expensive than before 5 went up for sale. imo, Beane has a tight window to maximize out value here. glad i am not a GM, he will be earning his keep.
  16. they will go from the extreme of DeShone Kizer to Tyrod and be begging for a place between the two.
  17. i queued this up and at first i was like... wtf?? then i realized it was just as it said (a long outtake). pretty cool.
  18. yeah, no. Tyrod hit his ceiling long ago. that infamous scouting report upon his exodus from the college ranks was just as true that day as it is today.
