I actually don’t think he handled it well. A lot of subtle comments like “it felt like a fluke” and “it was 10-10 if you take away the explosive plays” makes me feel like he still isn’t fully owning the loss. I guess you can’t expect him to be truly humble, but you could feel the internal struggle and his dad and agent hyping him up like “this was their super bowl” probably shows you where his ego comes from. On a related note, I would hate to have a player on the Bills do a postgame show with his dad and agent and air out all his dirty laundry after games.

Personally, I loved beating the Patriots twice last season and not punting either game. This one is fun though because it was the only game on TV, it was the first of the season, and nobody has anything else to talk about for 48 hours.

Comparing the Von Miller signing to another famous signing...
Rigotz replied to Special K's topic in The Stadium Wall
I really can’t stand comparisons between two different sports. There are 5 guys on the court in Basketball … one guy has way more impact on every game than in Football outside of the QB position. You can literally win a championship with just two incredible guys. -
Honestly, would love to see Moss inactive and activate Shakir. However, McDermott isn’t gonna trust Cook to take a big % of snaps until he proves he can handle it … and week 1 he proved that he can’t yet.

Thoughts on the Cusp of a Magical Season
Rigotz replied to ChevyVanMiller's topic in The Stadium Wall
I'm trying my best not to think about the expectations or put any undue pressure on the season and just enjoy it. We have a young franchise QB and several other young studs. This won't be our only year. My intent is to enjoy it. Nothing more or less. -
73 year old rock star. Very cool, said nobody under age 50.

Sam Martin in Buffalo on a visit (Signed to a 1 yr contract)
Rigotz replied to Turbo44's topic in The Stadium Wall
Were they bad times? … or did we just have an unbelievable punter. Brian Moorman 4 ring of honor. -
I’ve liked Shenault since he came out of the draft, but I can tell you FOR SURE we wouldn’t want him. He complained a lot about not getting thrown the ball and when he was thrown the ball, he had some terrible concentration drops. Bad locker room guy + drops in critical moments … no thanks. Good luck Panthers.

Coming off an All-Pro season where he's currently the 20th highest paid safety at $9.75M/Yr ... You don't think he'd want to be paid at least top 10? Top 10 is $13M/Yr. Harrison Smith is 32 years old and making $16M per year, by the way. All of this is a moot point because Poyer isn't holding out and is fine to play out the season. It would be a panic move and isn't necessary.
-
I agree that the Bills need a positive distraction prior to the beginning of the season... but is giving a 31 year old Safety a huge raise the best way to do that? Personally, I want to see Poyer play out his final year, then decide. Let's not get desperate when we don't have to.

Matt Araiza accused of rape, served with a lawsuit.
Rigotz replied to bill8164's topic in Off the Wall
Just had a random thought… If the Bills cut Araiza, there’s a good chance they could stash him on their practice squad until the details are fully vetted. I doubt another franchise would be willing to put him on their practice squad or active roster, given the horrible optics. If there’s a good enough chance that he DIDNT do this, that might be a preferable options vs keeping him on the active roster. -

I'm surprised this hasn't been shared yet. The alleged rape victim's lawyer just released her diary from that day. I have no idea why he would do that. It's a horrific scenario, but she also admits to being face down and not knowing who was there at the time... -

You’re wrong. He’s on record saying he doesn’t love that nickname. Here’s a video of him saying that at the 4 minute mark. Hopefully that’s enough for you. -

Remember Marcel’s desperation that the Bills NEEDED to draft Travis Etienne last year and his INSIDE SCOOP that it’s DEFINITELY GOING TO HAPPEN!!!??!!11

Do the Rams make the Super Bowl without Kooper Cupp? Probably not. Do the Bengals make the Super Bowl without Ja’Marr Chase? Probably not. The two other teams you mention, Packers and KC have had huge success with legit #1 WRs to throw to and BOTH were traded in the off-season for a first rounder AND a second rounder AND more. That shows you how valuable they are. The other case study you can look at is the Patriots prior to Randy Moss coming to town. Same QB and same lineup, but when Moss joined it took them from a good offense to an unstoppable offense. Having a true #1 elite WR matters.

We already have a TE of his caliber coming up on contract. Why would we give up a good draft pick for another one? If anything, we should get a better primary blocking TE or draft a Dawson replacement or just friggin re-sign Dawson.
-
I think we just don't want to see it in non-essential situations. People are worried that what happened to Cam Newton physically could happen to Josh over time if he takes too many hits. It's a fair comparison to be worried about because it's a similar body type and running style.
-
I disagree with this. A 5th for Cody Ford is good value regardless of their backup. They can always sign a guy who doesn't make final cuts if Mancz is really hurt badly.
-
Based on the reaction your post got, I'd say you need to take a look in the mirror bud. It's ridiculous to take any GM and say "he stinks at making picks in the ____ round" .... take a look at the body of work. He got Gabe Davis and Taron Johnson in the 4th. Does that mean he's exclusively good at drafting in the 4th? He got Josh Allen and Ed Oliver in the 1st. Does that mean he's good at the 1st round but not the 2nd? How can you complain so much about the guy that turned our team from a 20 year drought to perennial playoff contender and Super Bowl favorite? Cheer up.
-
You’re not looking at this the right way. Yes, he was a 2nd round pick and we figured out that he’s not good enough to start pretty quickly. It was a miss and every GM misses. Every GM doesn’t, however, get value back for their missed picks. Usually, you just have to cut guys when you miss. That makes this a win.
