  1. Alrighty ... time to take a break until the Browns game.
  2. https://www.pff.com/nfl/grades/position/ed Jerry Hughes is the #54 ranked Defensive End this year according to PFF. 5 spots lower than AJ Epenesa.
  3. Interesting take, nestled in truly ridiculous logic. Do you honestly think Jerry Hughes is the same as Von Miller? Jesus man ... take a breather. The Bills are 6-3 and the defense is hovering around #1 in the league. Stop crying.
  4. Great post. I thought it was just a bad read, but yeah this tells a different story. Didn't see anyone else mention this yet, but Singletary absolutely PASTED the DE on the play as well.
  5. The amount of hate that he gets from “fans” is insane. The guy gets us a top 3 defense every year, broke the drought, and changed the culture BEFORE drafting Josh Allen and these trolls still want to boo him out of town. Are you guys new in town? Perhaps you haven’t experienced the 10 terrible head coaches we had to go through before getting to an actually competent one. Insane.
  6. Going 6-3 is your final straw? Buddy…. contrary to your post, your must not have been around for long. I’ll happily bring this up around playoff time. Last year we were 7-6 before winning out and thrashing in the playoffs, minus a bad coin flip. Seems like a very weird and sad time to leave the bandwagon if you’ve truly stuck through it all.
  7. I think it's possible to fix the run game without having your franchise QB go down with a throwing arm injury. Hopefully he's ok. That's about all there is to say.
  8. This is fantastic, for anyone who may have missed it. Fair call, not rigged.
  9. Week 3 of this year: Chiefs lose to Colts 17-20. Pat Mahomes: 20/35 262 yards, 1 TD, 1 INT It happens to him and every other QB.
  10. Is it possible that he just had a bad game and a half? Or, maybe the sky is falling and he has become a mental midget despite consistently stepping up in the biggest situations for 2+ years. Tough call
  11. The guy you literally named your screen name after is pretty decent too.
  12. Haven't bought tickets yet. I can snag them online, but figured I'd post in case anyone wants to feel good about selling their ticket to a hardcore fan. Looking for up to 4. Go Bills!
  13. I think we can be optimistic about the future without being overconfident. There’s always a window and it’s never certain when it will close. Look at the Colts. That looked like it would be a decade-long run, with great weapons, a great defense, and Andrew Luck. Then he retired. Look at the Texans. I would have imagined they’d win at least one SB with a 24 year old Deshaun plus Deandre Hopkins. Look at Seattle. Unbeatable defense with a young superstar QB, great fan base and front office… unbelievable WR tandem… then the window closed fast. Being overconfident or promising yourself 10 years of success is dangerous. That’s why every single year counts these next few.
  14. "Worst Draft Ever" 1st round pick: Bradley Chubb, Pro-bowler, impact player 2nd round pick: Courtland Sutton, Pro-bowler, impact player 3rd round pick: Royce Freeman, role player, 1,356 rushing yards 4th round pick: Josey Jewell, led team in tackles in 2020, still a decent player How in god's name could you possibly call this the worst draft ever...
  15. My man ... gotta tell you ... you're a homer if you really think this.
  16. Maybe the part of the trade I don't understand is how anyone could think Cook and Hines are the 1 and 2 next year. Neither can play in short yardage or between the tackles situations, which, ya know, is important.
  17. Shaw, great post, well thought out ... but I think you're missing one big weakness with Edmunds. Tackling the ball carrier 5 yards from the line of scrimmage isn't a win. I'll give you the most two recent examples of Bills linebackers who had a ton of tackles and weren't very good: - Preston Brown - literally led the league in tackles in 2018, but was a liability vs the pass and was slow. - Paul Posluszny - same story. Great instincts, but a slow twitch player with bad lateral mobility. Edmunds is different in that he is an explosive athlete and is reasonably strong in coverage. However, call it lack of instincts, or awareness, or slow twitch, but he has the same issue as Brown and Posluszny, which make him an average to slightly above average player -- he doesn't blow up plays. Nobody really thinks that Edmunds is a bad player, but we're collectively frustrated that the #16 overall draft pick, who has all the physical upside in the world, can't seem to make explosive plays after 5 years in the league. We assume he'll command $15M/Yr+ due to his consistently untapped "upside" ... and we collectively don't want to pay it. Hope this helps give the perspective you need. This seems to be a common theme, at least with my group of well educated Bills Fan friends.
  18. Something to consider ... activated from IR does not mean starting Sunday. They were forced to activate him within a 21 day window and that's exactly what they did. There's still a chance he doesn't play against the Jets.
  19. Very sorry to be the proverbial turd in the punch bowl, but I'd like to see him wrapping up tackles instead of shouldering in.
  20. Sucks to see him get traded to the AFC, but Ravens not having a 2nd or 5th to upgrade WR or OL is pretty juicy as well. Net net, I’m still not afraid of the Ravens at all.
  21. I would encourage you to listen to some interviews with opposing head coaches after they face the Bills. The STRENGTH of this defensive scheme is that it is multi-functional out of the same base set, so the offense has no idea what you're going to throw at them pre-snap. Running a 4-6 Bear or 5-3 technique makes it incredibly obvious what you intend to defend. In the base Nickel, you have Taron Johnson playing as an outside linebacker sometimes and as a nickel corner other times. Do you have any idea how difficult that is to read as an opposing QB?
  22. I've heard this from a few folks the past weeks. So ... you want a 6th round rookie, who has never played safety in his career, to change positions mid-season and start? Do you think there could potentially be any issues there, considering our Safeties play some of the most complicated schemes in the NFL?
