  1. Wouldn’t the opposite be true then as well? We will “always have the advantage” against KC on defense? I’m ok with that.
  2. He is definitely improving, but I’ll tell you one thing that isn’t. His tackling. His tackling form is absolutely disgusting. Saturday was the first time in 9 straight games that Epenesa did NOT miss a tackle and he was batting about 50% on the season prior to Saturday. I actually don’t know how a Defensive End could be so bad at tackling… he shoulders into guys like Phillips and refuses to wrap.
  3. The official Bills instagram referred to James Cook as “Jimbo” With all due respect to the Jim that lives in our hearts, I kiiiiinda love the nickname. Are we making Jimbo Cook a thing?? https://www.instagram.com/p/CmkDzjCO8_g/?igshid=MDM4ZDc5MmU=
  4. You're calling Donovan McNabb a bust? 6-time pro bowler, two-time all pro ... came in 2nd for NFL MVP in 2000.... My brother... what??
  5. This would maybe be ... kind of cool if the cartoons looked anything like the players?
  6. I've had Sunday Ticket for the past 3 years and DirecTV is an absolute embarrassment. I've been locked out of my account or had issues streaming or the app has crashed about a dozen times. Not to mention the ridiculous policy where you have to have SATELLITE DISH to use DirecTV services?? Horrible company and I'm glad they've finally been replaced by a competent provider.
  7. Patriots Stadium = Gillette Stadium. The face of Gillette = Josh Allen. Josh Allen owns the Patriots. It must be so embarrassing for them to see Gillette commercials with their daddy on the billboard... then go to home games in daddy's stadium. Almost as embarrassing as that horrific lateral on Sunday. I love it! 😄
  8. Psychologically, because they’re trying to control and uncontrollable situation. More simply put, because it’s fun. You should try it some time!
  9. The Dolphins have no 1st or 4th or 5th or 6th round pick next year, but they do have two thirds. The following year they have no 3rd and 4th because of the Chubb trade and TAMPERING.
  10. For those not watching Monday Night Football, Cody Ford is getting annihilated all game. Bad pick by Beane. But excellent move to admit defeat and recoup a 5th rounder while he still had some perceived value.
  11. Haven’t been paying to the news huh?
  12. This could just as easily be said about KC or Green Bay
  13. I would rate them "too early to rate" Kaiir Elam: looked good at times, but made rookie mistakes James Cook: Looked good at times, but made rookie mistakes Terrel Bernard: Barely played Khalil Shakir: Barely played Matt Araiza: Gone Christian Benford: Probably a diamond in the rough? Luke Tenuta: Gone
  14. McDermott: “Hey! Who’s the best player on our team?” Dorsey: “I don’t know… probably Josh?” McDermott: “And who’s one of the best players in the league?” Dorsey: “Josh? What’s your point?” McDermott: **looks off into the distance** “Then give the god d*mn ball to Devin Singletary more...”
  15. You’re the person who tried to put him in a “bad coach” bracket: So I responded with my rationale… and then you said this: If you’re looking to define an objective measure of success, I wouldn’t suggest picking subjective criterion, like “who made the playoffs” … because a bunch of bad 7-9 teams make the playoffs every year and some play in challenging divisions. As fun as this is, I’m going to retire from this thread, as everyone else did.
  16. What proof are you looking for…. I showed you an example of a really dumb decision from LaFleur, explained his bad playoff record, and contrasted his playoff record to the talent on his roster. There is no other concrete “proof” one can provide that a coach isn’t the best in the league.
  17. Never making it to the Super Bowl with an elite QB and elite supporting cast 4 years in a row and bottoming out this season. Also, head scratching moments in big situations like this: https://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2021/02/01/matt-lafleur-stands-by-field-goal-decision-in-nfc-championship-game/ Also… he’s 2-3 in the playoffs total, so if you’re measuring ACTUAL playoff performance, you might not want to include Byes. He’s in a weak division and conference.
  18. Interesting, but doesn’t really mean much to me, as Matt LeFleur has proven to be one of the worst coaches on that list. NFC is a much easier path. Also, schedule luck plays into this a lot. KC played Buffalo in round 2 last year. Bengals played the Titans. All this excel sheet sees is Bengals 1-0, Bills 0-1.
  19. This is such loser talk.
  20. Lovie Smith - hired by the Texans last year - 63 Todd Bowles - hired by Tampa last year - 58 Doug Peterson - hired by Jaguards last year - 54 Other notable coach ages: Pete Carrol: 70 Bill Belichick: 69 Andy Reed: 64 John Harbaugh: 59 Mike McCarthy: 58
  21. Surprised nobody has corrected this yet. They actually get two third round picks. https://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2021/01/14/nfl-compensatory-picks-for-minority-coaches-and-executives-explained/
  22. I've seen a lot of this lately: Doom and gloom and "boo hoo, our season is over, I'll never forgive for the 13 seconds" ... So, I wanted to to draw a picture of exactly where we stand this year vs last year, from a roster perspective. OFFENSE: QB 2022: Josh Allen QB 2021: Josh Allen Same RB 2022: James Cook + Devin Singletary + Nyheim Hines RB 2021: Devin Singletary + Zach Moss + Matt Breida Significant Upgrade WR 2022: Stefon Diggs + Gabriel Davis + Isaiah McKenzie + Khalil Shakir WR 2021: Stefon Diggs + Gabriel Davis + Isaiah McKenzie + Cole Beasley + Emmanuel Sanders Slight Downgrade: Sanders had a maximum of 36 yards in the last 5 games and Beasley had a max of 35 outside of the KC game (60) TE 2022: Dawson Knox TE 2021: Dawson Knox Same LT 2022: Dion Dawkins LT 2021: Dion Dawkins LG 2022: Rodger Saffold LG 2021: Jon Feliciano / Daryl Williams (swapped to RG later) C 2022: Mitch Morse C 2021: Mitch Morse RG 2022: Rick Bates RG 2021: Rick Bates RT 2022: Spencer Brown RT 2021: Spencer Brown Slight Upgrade: Bates and Brown have more experience gelling and Saffold > Feliciano/Williams DEFENSE: CB 2022: Tre White, Kaiir Elam, Dane Jackson, Christian Benford (expected back for playoffs) CB 2021: Levi Wallace, Dane Jackson, Nick McCloud, Olaijah Griffin, ??? Significant Upgrade Safety 2022: Jordan Poyer + Demar Hamlin Safety 2021: Jordan Poyer + Micah Hyde Significant Downgrade DT 2022: Ed Oliver, DaQuan Jones, Jordan Phillips, Tim Settle, CJ Brewer DT 2021: Ed Oliver, Star Lotulelei, Harrison Phillips, Efe Obada, Vernon Butler Significant Upgrade DE 2022: Greg Rousseau, Boogie Basham, Shaq Lawson, AJ Epenesa DE 2021: Greg Rousseau, Boogie Basham, Mario Addison, Jerry Hughes, AJ Epenesa Slight Downgrade? Rousseau is significantly better in 2022 and Boogie, AJ, and Shaq have been decent role players LB 2022: Matt Milano, Tremaine Edmunds, AJ Klein, Tyrel Dodson, Terrel Bernard LB 2021: Matt Milano, Tremaine Edmunds, AJ Klein, Tyrel Dodson Slight Upgrade: Milano and Edmunds are playing their best ball and depth has improved Punter + Kicker 2022: Bass + Haack Punter + Kicker 2021: Bass + Martin Better, but meh PR/KR 2022: Nyheim Hines PR/KR 2021: Isaiah McKenzie Slight Upgrade Other important considerations: - Bills are currently the #1 seed. They were 7-6 at this point last season. - The Chiefs are arguably the Bills biggest threats this year in the AFC and they lost Tyreek Hill. - The Bills have looked absolutely dominant for the vast majority of the season. So ... RIGHT NOW, better team, better record, better seeding, arguably worse competition. Why are we even talking about 2021 as our best chance or last chance?
  23. I'll try an equally inspirational message. Having YOUR BEST players get HURT and injured for THE ENTIRE YEAR AND MAYBE LONGER is not a GOOD THING.
  24. You should listen to any podcast that features Gregg Thompsett of Cover 1. He has a very good handle on how the current contracts are structured. He went through an exercise a few weeks ago and was able to easily find $65M of free space this offseason if we want to use it. We have a very intelligent front office that has signed our best players to long deals in which you can punt money to future years by converting it to bonus. Like Von's contract, for example.
  25. For my money, here's what I think he's doing ... - Go on a publicity tour with 3 competitive teams that need WR help. - Ask for way too much money. - Hope that one of the superstar WR's go down (Lamb, Diggs, etc.). - Hope that they come crawling back out of desperation and familiarity.
