Every off-season: Tua’s new look Motor’s new look Epenesa’s new look Basham’s new look Somehow it never does anything.
-
Ok... well the whole reason you made this comment is saying you want Terrel Bernard on the field, so would he be the only linebacker on the field? 3 Corners + 3 Safeties + 4 Defensive Linemen = 10 players. You only get to have 11 players on the field. So ... bench Matt Milano?
-
So… Taron Johnson to the bench at $10M+/yr?
-
Let’s think about this logically. Trading up in the 1st will cost at least a 2nd or 3rd round pick. So… if they want to go Offense in the 1st, do you think they’d rather spend pick 27 on a WR/RB/OL and draft a middle linebacker in the 2nd? ORRRRR take a slightly better WR/RB/OL via trade up and have ABSOLUTELY NOBODY at middle linebacker?

Will DeAndre Hopkins be available this offseason?

Let's pause again for a moment to appreciate the support the Pegulas give to this franchise. There's no doubt in my mind they'd pay whatever they have to pay to get those picks and load Beane up with more draft capital. Good ownership matters. -
Dawson Knox is signed to a huge contract through 2027, so you can value Tight End all you want, but we aren't looking for a #1 Tight End. If you draft a WR and they hit, the bar isn't #2 WR, it's #1 WR... which I hope we'd agree is a more valuable position than #2 Tight End. The top 5 WR in the league get paid $25M-$30M per year. The top 5 TE in the league get paid $14M-$17M per year. If you want to know which one is more valuable, follow the money.

I don't know where you guys are looking... Drew Sanders: https://www.nflmockdraftdatabase.com/players/2023/drew-sanders Jack Campbell: https://www.nflmockdraftdatabase.com/players/2023/jack-campbell That website aggregates all mock drafts and rankings and Sanders is ranked significantly better.

Name 2 players the Buffalo Bills will select in the 2023 NFL Draft

1. Drew Sanders 2. Marvin Mims Jr. -
This is not accurate and you’re probably just looking at Combine numbers rather than play speed. Do yourself a favor and watch highlights for both on YouTube. You’ll see the difference immediately. One is a first round quality prospect, the other is not.

Alright, so… I think I got my answer. People just don’t know him. To the folks saying he’s too small, he’s the same size as Luke Keuchly. To the folks saying he’s not as instinctive as Jack Campbell… look him up on YouTube. I’d say he’s significantly more instinctive, twitchy, and explosive both in coverage and against the run. Guys… he’s a better prospect for any system, but particularly the base Nickel system McDermott runs as it puts a premium on agility and ability to address large coverage windows. I won’t bother posting links or videos, but please do yourselves a favor and watch both. Don’t just settle for the guy you’ve heard more about.
-
All across the message board I keep seeing folks talk about Jack Campbell. Why is nobody talking about Drew Sanders? Same position, better fit, significantly better player … is the assumption that he won’t fall to us?

This wouldn’t be because you’re a Chiefs fan and your best WR left and they’re in the running for DHop … right?

OBJ is a great competitor and will be a great signing for most teams. For the Jets? With Aaron Rodgers? I'm hoping they sign OBJ. This reminds me of the 2011 Jets. They just finished back to back AFC Title game appearances. The hype surrounding the team was huge. They got Plaxico Burress, Santonio Holmes, Antonio Cromartie, Darelle Revis, Bart Scott, LaDanian Tomlinson, and Rex Ryan was full on "building a bully" mindset. They finished 8-8 and the team crumbled underneath the weight of so many ego-centric divas. PLEASE go to the Jets.

I wonder if Chiefs and Bengals fans have this same loser mentality with their franchise QBs.

Will DeAndre Hopkins be available this offseason?
Rigotz replied to NeverOutNick's topic in The Stadium Wall
I’d rather have Greg Rousseau with 3 more years on his rookie deal than Hopkins, yes. It’s such a defeatist mindset to want to trade our picks away for players because Beane missed a couple picks. -

Yeah! And throw in our 1st while you’re at it because we don’t always hit on those either! I’d rather have an old $20M/yr player than a young $5M/yr player on a 5 year contract! It’s not like you can get those in Free Agency for free- wait a sec… -
For those who "don't understand the comp formula" it's really easy: 1) If you lose a valuable Free Agent (Tremaine Edmunds) that gets paid top of market value, you get a comp pick for them. 2) You can only receive this comp pick if you LOSE more "qualified free agents" than you gain. 3) A "qualified free agent" is a player that is not a free agent because he was cut AND his salary needs to be above a certain level (this year about $2.5M). (Thus, free agents can be signed and "not qualify" because they were either cut or their salary is low) If you spend all day on this message board and still can't put these 3 things together or you can't understand why people want free 3rd round picks... you probably shouldn't post your opinion on it.
-
Or Dawson Knox, but ya know, hey lets pretend 3rd round picks don't matter and "nobody cares about comp picks."
-
NEITHER count against us as free agents signings in the comp pick formula. ::chef’s kiss::

Can we take a moment to appreciate how truly stupid this post is? Haha Of all the things to be upset about, you’re upset that he’s the same height and weight as several hall of fame calibre running backs?
-
Not a coincidence that this news hits within 1 hour of the Singletary signing. Beane is watching the comp pick formula!
-
It’s crazy that people still don’t understand why we didn’t, even after Beane said they’re looking for a different body type. We did not need Motor on offense. The skill set we needed was short distance running, pass blocking, and/or Special Teams. Motor is none of those things. Why would we make an offer?
-
Under-utilized would imply that he provided a ton of value that was untapped. His market was 1 year, up to $3.75M. Seems like everyone knew what he was and preferred to trust a $30M/yr Superstar QB instead when it mattered.

“F them comp picks” -Brandon Beane
