What would you rather have at this point? Option 1) The Bills win 4 out of the next 5 games and sneak into the playoffs. They have to play the #2 seed on the road and lose. McDermott gets to say he gutted out a tough season with many injuries and he survives another year. The Bills hold the 20th-24th pick in the draft. Option 2) The Bills lose 2+ games and miss the playoffs. The season is a failure and McDermott is fired. The Bills hold the 15th-20th pick in the draft. Many of us would choose option 2 simply because we can't imagine a scenario where McDermott's team not only guts out 4-5 more wins in a row, but then goes on the road for the entirety of the playoffs, then Super Bowl and wins it all.

Bill Belichick's resume was NOT better than McDermott's before Brady. Assuming Reich's coaching stinks because he's not winning Super Bowls with Jacoby Brissett is extremely short-sighted. He made some really bad QB's look good. I'm not sold on him being the wrong guy.

I love when the broadcast highlights that he's on the field. It's appropriately embarrassing for both him and the coaching staff that they keep trotting out the ghost of Von Miller to the field. Every snap he's been out there has been a wasted snap. Think about how many times the coaching staff has put a zero impact player on the field at a critical position ... by choice. Yet another reason to be DONE with McDermott.

I understand we all have our pitchforks out right now, but Beane has been fantastic as a GM. His draft hit rate is above average. His creativity with the cap is above average. His trades have been mostly good. How do we go from "Beane is a wizard!" every off-season to saying he's a problem?

My problem is not necessarily the kneeling with 20 seconds as much as it is blowing two time outs before doing that. Blow a time out with 30 seconds left before the third down play… ok. Blow another time out with 25 seconds left to… ice the kicker? THEN KNEEL? Pathetic.

I'm sure everyone appreciates the sage wisdom of "things are good when you win" but the whole point of a message board is to speculate and discuss.

I'm going to defend McDermott for a moment. Brace yourself. Maybe Dorsey was indeed the problem. Are any of you managers at work? Imagine if something didn't go right and your reaction was this: How would the people under you react? Yes, of course Football is an intense game... but wouldn't it be a little less fun? I wonder if Dorsey didn't know how to channel Josh's energy and keep it positive during games. His own competitiveness got in the way. Dorsey might be a great coach, but maybe he just wasn't the right pairing with Josh?

Well... yeah. We sucked for 20 years. Usually coaches don't last more than 3 years when they suck.

Honestly, I'm alright with this. 2023 isn't likely going to be a Super Bowl year, so let's flush out everybody, get a better draft pick, and get a better staff for Josh. Joe Brady was the logical step and nice to give him a trial run here as well.

Every WR has their strengths. Gabe Davis is not great at getting separation ... or YAC ... or route running ... or catching ... Ok, so he kind of sucks, but what I'm trying to say is he's decent at deep routes, field awareness, and blocking.

"Destroy" might be overstated. What I mean is no longer being maximized and certainly not improving. All of the talent in the world and he's getting worse. We can talk about statistics all we want, but the offense hasn't been producing with a quarterback that is proven to be elite. I'm not absolving Josh Allen of any blame, it just seems like basic fact that the current coaching staff has not produced an offense that is as effective as it used to be ... the offense is led by the quarterback. The quarterback is no longer performing at the elite level he was previously known for. Thus, the coaching staff is mismanaging ("destroying") our best asset.

Great point. There hasn't been enough discussion about Josh's turnovers in the media and on this message board and by Josh himself and by the coaches who are both here and fired. I think we're all happy you created this thread.

Love this, but I'm going to need the DT to be undersized. The Corner needs to only have Man Coverage skills. At Running Back, I'd like for him to be mediocre with us, but have success elsewhere. That would be what we need.

You almost hit the nail on the head. Almost! The Broncos loss hurts, but it's the reality check we all needed as fans and as an organization. If this team limped into the playoffs and won a game or two, we might see another year of Dorsey and McDermott. Mercifully, one of them sealed their fate last night and we have to hope the other one did as well. We all want a Super Bowl and the silver lining from last night is we're finally going to get out of our own way.

Through first 6 games: Sam LaPorta -- 25 receptions for 289 yards and 3 TD Dalton Kincaid -- 17 receptions for 118 yards and 0 TD Their argument at the time was we're not using Dalton Kincaid enough and most would agree that they were correct.

Also exciting to note, as I was researching this statistic. All time rookie record for receptions: #1) 81 receptions -- Keith Jackson in 1988 #2) 74 receptions -- Jeremy Shockey in 2022 #3) 68 receptions -- Kyle Pitts in 2021 #4) 64 receptions -- Evan Engram in 2017 At the halfway point of the season, Kincaid is on pace to break the record.

Bingo. For those saying it's because Saleh has a love affair with Wilson or because Wilson has some kind of special connection with Rodgers ... lol come on. The Jets spent the 2nd overall pick in the draft on Wilson. He's in his 3rd year in the league. They're giving him a final shot. After starting Mike White over him last year, if they started Trevor Semien over him this year it would tank any remaining value he has and destroy his confidence even worse. They're playing the long game. Ownership isn't thinking 2023 season ... they want to see if they actually have something in Zach or not in a doomsday Rodgers injury scenario.

Sam Martin has been above average overall and that’s plenty fine enough for me. Cutting him would result in almost $1MM in dead cap. Do I want to take that to potentially slightly upgrade our punter with a guy who is currently on the street? No.
