He could lose 75 lbs and still be 10lbs heavier than the heaviest current NFL player (379 lbs). This thread is a really good sorting mechanism for those who "know ball" and those who don't. It's not a good thing to be 85lbs heavier than every other player in the NFL. He's slow as molasses and you can simply GO AROUND players that big. Not to mention zero pass rush potential. Being predictable in the NFL is not a good thing. A humungous guy who can't run and can't pass rush is not an asset. It's a speed bump.

This, to me, feels like a guy who's gonna be broke in less than 5 years.

I'm not sure if you're following what's happening to the Eagles this offseason, but they're losing the majority of their good trench players because of the contracts you mentioned to skill position players. 2025 will be the season we find out how those contracts work for them.

For a guy named "Einstein" you sure miss the point a lot! Nobody is saying he's not a good GM. I specifically said he's a good GM multiple times. The problem is using him as an example of an infallible GM who doesn't miss. That's not true. Also, yes, he's probably the best GM and he isn't that far off from Brandon Beane. That's the point.

He has been GM of the eagles for 14 years. Yes, he has had some success and yes he is very good, but people use him as a benchmark like every other GM is garbage and they forget HOWIE ROSEMAN MISSES A LOT. I wonder if Beane can hit some early first round picks the way Roseman has if he’s afforded 14 years. #2 overall pick - BUST QB #20 overall pick - BUST WR #21 overall pick - BUST WR #22 overall pick - BUST TACKLE That’s just the past couple of years. Did he hit on #4 overall Lane Johnson? Yes. #12 overall Fletcher Cox? Yes. #14 overall Derrick Barnett? Yes. He has also had a ridiculous amount of time and high picks to work with and my only issue is everyone comparing their GM to him and saying “see? He’s perfect, why can’t our guy be?” and Eagles fans literally wanted him GONE after the first couple of years. It’s fools gold.

It’s incredible how little people know about Howie Roseman. Look up his first 7 seasons with the Eagles. He was awful in the draft, including taking Jalen Reagor over Justin Jefferson. Then, he nailed a bunch of picks that frankly fell to him in the draft and everyone is fawning over him as a “savant.” No GM is perfect and even though we don’t like to admit it, there’s a lot of luck involved. Beane is a good GM. He has proven that over and over in every category other than getting a little more lucky in the draft.

I think we have a younger version of Cooper on the roster in Josh Palmer. No, I'm not saying Josh Palmer is elite. However, he has a very similar skill set to Cooper, as a route technician who isn't particularly fast. Coleman and Palmer are the boundary WRs, with Shakir working in the slot alongside Kincaid/Knox. Curtis Samuel works in occasionally as well. What is that WR group missing? Pure speed and explosiveness. Signing Cooper doesn't give us that. Perhaps a rookie WR can.

For a 1st round pick plus more? That's what Bengals are rumored to be wanting now. That's a bad deal for a 30 year old DE who wants a new $30M/yr contract. If was the rumored 2nd round pick, sure. 1st plus more? Nah.
