New data shows Tyrod/the offense was better than you thought
JM2009 replied to HappyDays's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It's sad that our starting QB gets more respect from fans and media across the league then from some of the people in his own fanbase. And they all recognize he is not elite/HOF type but far from terrible. And he brings unique talents to his game that other QBs don't have. -

You said he doesn't beat .500 teams, and he did. Now it's how bad their QBs are. The Jets had a very good defense in 2015. That's who TT plays against, you understand. The defenses, not the other team's QB. And he played too often with scrub WRs in 2016. -

What about 2015?Houston, Colts, Jets twice-you keep skipping over these. Your a good skipper, I've noticed. What about the second Miami game in 2016? What unit lost that game? -

I wasn't talking to myself. -
The Bills offense was top ten in points scored in 2016. And this was the plan-strong defense, strong running game, a QB who limits turnovers and can manage the game. This is Roman's offense. lol.

Caution: an ignorant and misinformed, biased post. You don't have to be on any train. 31 other teams to choose from. -
The offense is built for the run, not shootouts. This was Ryan's plan before TT was ever the starting QB.

Like Houston, and the Jets in 2015, and the Colts. -
Watkins and McCoy have missed a total of 16 games combined since TT has been QB. seems like his supporting cast hasn't been on the field for him many times-esp Watkins. Just like that, the Bills can get a QB like Brees or Luck. Didn't know it was that easy.

Both true, and the QB was the least of the teams problems in 2016.

Jones could be the gem from the draft. -
The defense was pantsed, whatever that means, by other QBs. Not TT. The only nonsense is coming from you and your ignoring all the arguments, with actual facts, against your posting.
-
TT is the best QB the Bills have had this century. He is never going to be elite or HOF status, but he was not expected to be. He is far from terrible, which posters like you try to make him by being deliberate in what you chose to ignore. He is good enough till a better option comes along. Once again, 15-14, 47 TDs and 15 turnovers with over 1000 yards rushing is not terrible.

post 226 is very interesting. Too bad you skipped it.

Good stats.
-
How much less can you get than the WR status for most of the 2016 Bills? And KC defense was better than Buffalos. Looks like your claiming that an elite or HOF QB is needed for the playoffs, nothing less. Which you said you never claimed.
-
So are you. TT had more total TDs than Smith in 2016. TT is 2-1 against Tannehill. Neither Smith or Tannehill fit your elite, HOF QB type that is needed to make the playoffs.

Sal C: the ten Bills players to protect/expansion draft.

You never know which Dareus you'll get. -
http://www.wgr550.com/articles/opinion/capaccio-10-bills-players-id-protect-if-there-was-nfl-expansion-draft QB Tyrod Taylor "Even though there was a debate about even bringing him back at all, now that he is going to be wearing a Bills uniform again, Taylor offers the only realistic option for the Bills to win football games as the regular starter under center. Add to that he has a very reasonable salary to deal with for a starting quarterback ($9.7 million cap hit). So a good - not great - starting QB making peanuts compared to most starters in the league (his 2017 cap hit ranks 21st among starting QBs), that's an easy call to protect. " Interesting list. http://buffalonews.com/2017/06/20/jay-skurskis-post-spring-practices-53-man-roster-projection/ Quarterbacks (3): Tyrod Taylor, T.J. Yates, Nathan Peterman Cut: Cardale Jones "Analysis: Jones is clearly fourth on the depth chart, sometimes failing to get any reps at all during 11-on-11 drills in the spring. He threw a brutal interception on one of the few that he did get to end a minicamp practice -- the type of play that is hard to forget because of how bad it was. There might still be time for him to catch up, but he'll have to take full advantage of the opportunities he does get once training camp arrives. Ahead of him, Yates and Peterman didn't really do much to stand out, but the former is a veteran who is familiar with the offense and the latter was drafted by the team in the fifth round. Those are significant advantages when compared to Jones, who has no ties to this front office or coaching staff."

The Bills had the fewest pass attempts in the NFL. Maybe that changes this season. Where I stand-pulling for the best QB we have had in awhile so we make the playoffs finally. That's where I stand. Where do you stand? And that formula is what Ryan and Co wanted. They failed with the defense overall. That is why they were fired. With MG loss and new coaching, I expect more of a passing attack too. Hopefully the WR corp can stay healthy this season. Miami does not have an elite or HOF QB, which is what you stated kept the Bills from the playoffs. Neither does KC. TT had more total TDs than Smith, by the way. "It's a good thing for team unity that the offensive players aren't the type to point fingers in the locker room. Because the Bills' defense has been wasting some pretty good performances by their offensive mates lately." "Well, I'll point a finger at us for them," said Kyle Williams, the veteran defensive tackle. "We need to play better. We need to do better. Point blank.".. http://buffalonews.com/2016/11/16/one-way-another-defense-still-problem/

Who cares? The Bills main problem was the defense. Not the offense. That is what needed the immediate attention. As I stated above, the formula was a strong running game,a QB to manage the game with few turnovers, and a strong defense. The defense was the main problem with this formula through 15 games.

Lawson and Ragland have to excel this season.
