  1. I'm really interested in the plan at corner. At the moment, they aren't capable of stopping most receiving corps.
  2. Hendrickson was mostly a bench guy before his final season on New Orleans, he had 1,549 snaps his first four years. Rousseau has been a starter the past three with 2,671 total snaps since being drafted. I'm not sure if that's a good comparison.
  3. At some point the players on the field have to step up. I'm not excusing the coaching staff but offenses are going to show you new stuff. There's only so much you can prepare for pre-snap. Torrence said something similar on the blitz call on the last offensive play. I just don't think that's a good excuse. It really just explains why this team struggles with the Chiefs in the postseason vs the regular season.
  4. I think the philosophy change started with Ken Dorsey balancing the offense. After 2023, they ended the season with a high amount of turnovers. So they overcorrected into the ball control time of possession offense. Diggs' usage changed after Brady became the OC. His playing time went way down, they started preaching blocking for the receivers. See Davis getting a game ball without making a catch in the Jets game. Diggs being upset about his targets was caused directly by the drop in playing time after Brady became the OC. The big bodied receiver change started with Brady. MVS wasn't a serious signing. Amari Cooper is absolutely that type of receiver though, he's about the same size as Davis. Cooper was only running routes in 50 to 60% of his snaps after trading for him. Samuel is a good point, I honestly forgot about him. Maybe they envisioned him as the deep threat last year and he didn't pan out. That said, they didn't use him. I shouldn't have added Kincaid, regardless of who the OC was they needed replace Cole Beasley. He wasn't a good example. I think the desired personnel changed when Brady became the OC. I hope I'm wrong, but I'm not advocating for the shot play Ken Dorsey style offense. I just don't want the offense to hold itself back because McDermott is terrified of his defense playing.
  5. That's a personnel decision they made when changing the offense to its current system. They traded Diggs who was unhappy with what Brady was implementing. They gave an extension to Knox then drafted Kincaid. Drafting Cook and Davis. Drafting Coleman and adding a crop of big bodied blocking receivers. I don't think they stumbled into the season without a group of receivers who can stretch the field and create separation. I think it was a conscious decision to build the offense this way.
  6. I'm fine with a balanced attack, I was advocating for the change before they added Kincaid. I don't think they created a balanced offense, they created an offense mainly driven by the run. The last two seasons it was a ball control offense that couldn't push the ball downfield when needed. In important moments they weren't able to move the ball well because it was too one dimensional.
  7. I wouldn't agree that the Chiefs defense has been pretty good throughout their run. They've been significantly better the last two years, but overall they were the team's weakness.
  8. "Opponents scored an average of 33.2 points in Buffalo’s five playoff losses over that span." That is such a crazy stat with a defensive minded head coach that: Hired his own general manager and prioritizes the defense first in the offseason. Changed the offensive philosophy to a ball control time of possession offense to keep his defense off the field. Hired an in-house staff member to replace himself as the defensive coordinator. That ain't it.
  9. Funnily enough, I think Worthy would have been the perfect addition to this offense. They wouldn't have needed him to run complex routes. They need speed and the ability to stretch the field. It's a skillset they desperately needed when they got Diggs, same now. We'll see what happens with Coleman, it's too early to give up on him. That said, I think we can guess what his ceiling will be. I'm guessing Gabe Davis level player, hopefully he'll end up closer to a Courtland Sutton type. Honestly, I think my biggest fear is that they drafted him solely because of this blocking bull####.
  10. This is an insult to Chan Gailey. There is absolutely no chance Schottenheimer ends up with 34 wins as a head coach.
  11. Same with the Rams game this year, the corners looked completely outmatched. Forget covering Nacua or Kupp, Benford couldn't cover Atwell.
  12. Totally agree, but I don't see that happening with Mcdermott at the helm. I also don't see the point in adding a big name defensive tackle in this rotation heavy defensive line. Ed Oliver only played more than 80% of the defensive snaps twice last year, Chris Jones did twelve times this year.
  13. I'm not sure how this was missed the past year. Douglas was one of the worst starting corners on the team in recent history. Probably down there with the starting group Drayton Florence, Reggie Corner, and Ashton Youboty.
  14. My mistake, I thought they used their first round pick that draft to get Carter.
  15. The Eagles traded up for both of those players. The Eagles just hit on those players while the Bills whiffed on Oliver.
  16. Oh good, the irrationally angry self proclaimed "superior" fans are out in full force.
  17. My guy, Johnson wasn't even blocking on the final drive.
  18. Cooper only played 32 snaps in the Chiefs game and 21 snaps in the Ravens game. Literally no point in bringing him back if they won't use him.
  19. There was only two realistic results from Brady's play. They identify the blitz correctly and the line holds up long enough to get Kincaid the ball or the blitz isn't handled correctly leading to Shakir getting the ball 15 yards short of the marker. Which means that Kincaid was the only reasonable opportunity to get the first down. The problems start with Spags already knowing that Brady was going to sit on the same thing he's been running all year. That meant the defense had everything covered perfectly. The next problem is identifying the blitz against the best defensive coordinator in the league at disguising blitzes with only one hot route. A hot route 15 yards short of the first down! It was the most important play of the season and Brady was outclassed.
  20. Going through a rebuild year during Josh Allen's prime should have set his pants on fire last year.
  21. I'm not criticizing the execution or the coaching behind it. I don't have statistical analysis behind it, but I believe they ran a LOT of mesh plays this year. This was the play of the season where you bring out something new. Be it a new concept or a variation of a concept to throw the defense off. I just think Brady had a really poor game on top of a really poor showing against the Ravens.
  22. ***** me, Brady ran a mesh concept on the most important play of the season like a kid running back to mama.
  23. With stunning success stories such as Doug Legursky on his resume.
