  2. Twitter stream story: (more tweets)
  3. City will pay gun-rights group about $150,000 for lawsuit over unconstitutional ordinance

  5. Fires Push Toward CA Gov. Gavin Newsom’s Multimillion Dollar Winery; Property Now Surrounded By Multiple Blazes As California Governor Gavin Newsom toured the wildfire damage in the Deer Park area of Napa County on Thursday a new blaze, dubbed the Campbell Fire, broke out very close to the winery he co-owns with oil heir Gordon Getty. While it was quickly extinguished, the fire highlighted the precarious state of his property. Newsom’s Plumpjack Winery off of Highway 29 near Oakville has been increasingly threatened over the past few days by the Glass Fire, which was ignited September 27 to the north, near Calistoga. The fire has scorched 57,000 acres and now stands at 5% containment. </snip>
  6. The ads are reviewed before accepted. Taking them down afterward is censorship, and facebook acting as a publisher, not a platform. (Facebook has ad guidelines. They review an ad for XYZ before accepting it.) Facebook has removed 216 Trump ads that claimed "despite the health risks [of] COVID-19 Joe Biden will increase refugees" from Somalia, Syria and Yemen. "We rejected these ads because we don't allow claims that people's physical safety, health, or survival is threatened by people on the basis of their national origin or immigration status," a Facebook spokesperson told CBS News via email. The Facebook ad library for the Donald J. Trump Facebook page shows Donald J. Trump for President, Inc. paid $10,000 to $15,000 for the 15-second video messages that started to run on September 30. The ad library, which lists ads purchased by the Trump campaign, shows 216 ads used the "creative and text" before they were taken down by Facebook that same day "because it goes against Facebook Advertising Policies." </snip>
  7. There is an ignore feature. He's a good one to use it on.
  8. OK, so we are back to this. SMH Hundreds of Honduran migrants set out for US amid pandemic About 2,000 Honduran migrants hoping to reach the United States entered Guatemala on foot Thursday morning, testing the newly reopened frontier that had been shut by the coronavirus pandemic. Authorities had planned to register the migrants as they crossed and offer assistance to those willing to turn back, but the group crossed the official border at Corinto without registering, according to Guatemala immigration authorities. Outnumbered officials made no attempt to stop them. </snip>
  9. The plot thickens! But, Trump is not wrong. Every little nuance is discussed and agreed to well before the three debates. The debate commission cannot just go off willy-nilly and change what it likes without agreement from both sides.
  10. This article is so slanted it is not funny "workers with a conscience" gimmie a ***** break), but essentially it comes down to "You are here to WORK. Now work when you are on the job!" What a concept! Coinbase Is Showing Workers With a Conscience the Door CEO Brian Armstrong called social activism divisive and a distraction in a recent blog post, and the company is offering any "uncomfortable" workers an exit package. Coinbase, a major cryptocurrency exchange based in Silicon Valley, has announced that it will not engage with pressing social issues such as racial injustice and is offering exit packages to employees who disagree. </snip>
  11. I understand the mail-in ballots + false polls are supposed to either make for a Biden win, or call into question a Trump win as illegitimate, but come on, man! No one goes to Joe's events, there is no enthusiasm for him, and the money that has been "raised" is eerily similar to the shenanigans the Obama campaign conducted in "raising" their campaign contributions. Is Sleepy-Joe the ultimate "hold your nose" candidate? Or will he harm downstream tickets?
  12. Wut? Vigorous and Biden do not belong in the same sentence.
  13. I hope this is true because Maine had some wacky things going on (I posted it earlier in this thread):
  14. These guys could not take one day in Trump's shoes.
  15. Nearly all the headlines made this seem like a bad thing. This was the one headline that was not "omg! this is awful!" Initial Jobless claims: 837k (actual) vs 850k (estimated) Continued jobless claims: 11.77M (actual) vs 12.225M (estimated)
  16. Denial is not just a river in Africa.

  19. My favorite Opi color is Chicago Champagne Toast. I have never thought about how weird nail polish color names are, until now. 🤷‍♀️ And ummm “period red”? I think Pantone is trying a little bit too hard to be edgy. It is coming off as weird.
