  1. I agree. With the extension Barkley will be two years out so he'll be playing at $16.5m per season. Cook would be around $12.5m per season if they give him a 4 year $60m extension. Whether Beane thinks that's too much for a player that only plays around 50% of the snaps we shall see.
  2. He was outstanding this year. He's everything we thought Elam could be at this point. The two concussions he had at the end of the year scare me a bit though.
  3. You're basically saying that contracts rise every year with inflation of the salary cap and I think most people get that. I'm interested if the Rams give Kyreen Williams an extension as he's put up similar stats to Cook but is an every down back. He had over 100 more carries than Cook last year. If he gets around $17m per year than around $15m should be about the range Cook is extended for imo.
  4. The contracts really only work that way with QB's for some reason. It's such an important position that once you think you have your guy you have to pay them top of the market franchise money. By your logic Bernard would've been paid more than the $17m/year that Baun just signed for.
  5. I'd rather have Bernard at 4 year $50m than Edmunds at 4 year $72m. Especially given the contracts will be three years apart since Bernard extension won't kick in until 2026.
  6. Gosh darn it.....
  7. Nabbing Dorsey from Alabama is an underrated Sean McDermott move even if they butted heads that last season.
  8. Either position is desperate for a significant upgrade. We're not even sure if the Browns will shop Garrett at this point. Whenever you can acquire elite talent at a premium position of need you do it imo.
  9. I'm not sure it's completely about attention on this issue. He's been a mercantilist going all the way back at least until the 80's when he thought Japan was ripping us off. He ignores any economist worth their salt on the issue so the only thing that really stops him is if the stock market tanks.
  10. That sounds exactly like Beane. LOL. Come on. Just give them our 1st and we give Allen a bonifide #1 for the next four years.
  11. Think he'd be happy in a TE3 role?
  12. Chargers make a lot of sense to give Herbert a decent downfield weapon. Not sure how good of a fit he'd be in a Greg Roman offense though.
  13. Jesus. You can buy some really nice winter hats and gloves for $30m a year.
  14. That would be historically bad stats for both units.
  15. This has not been a pleasant date the last two years. It begins with Martin.
  16. I thought he was pretty good last year and I liked the stability of him holding for Bass. However, I am aware he is just a punter.
  17. I'm pro have a potential historic offense next year so I'd give up pick #30 for him and give him $30m a year. At worst they make a 30 for 30 documentary on the deal. Next three years minimum we'd have Allen, a solid o-line, Metcalf, Shakir, Coleman, Davis/2nd day running back, and Kincaid. This is Allen's prime window and Beane neglected outside WR since trading for Diggs. Scared money don't make money.
  18. What's interesting about Shakir's contract is how easy it is to get out of it after 2026 before the maximum cap hits. If Cook's deal is similar I still wouldn't agree with it but wouldn't be overly critical if the Bills did extend him. There's something to be said about rewarding a player who put all the work in to exceed expectations.
  19. I know that already. I made this thread because I'm more interested in the paranoia level developed over the years dealing with the Chiefs. I wonder what the response would be if the question simply was would you trade Cook for a 2nd round pick?
  20. We could easily create more than $50m in cap space by simple contract restructures so bringing him in won't be a problem. We'll still have plenty of cap space for Hollins and Johnson. I would love to unload Cook for a 2nd rounder but I doubt that happens. My guess is he'll push for $30m/year on a 4 year extension (4 years, $120m). Could be 3 years $90m if he wants a 4th bite at the apple. I think he's worth it but I can definitely see the case for people saying it's too much $ for a player that hasn't been statistically a top 10 WR since he was drafted.
  21. I don't think they should count alternates as Pro Bowlers. They should just do away with any pro bowl event whatsoever. Just announce them like any other award.
  22. He's worth it. His presence would have a 2020 Diggs like impact where Josh had his "breakout" and best statistical season. An outside WR with his speed, height, and weight is rare and opens everything else up. Seahawks offense was pathetic last year the couple of games he was out.
  23. We drafted three rb’s in the first round during the drought. Lol. What are you talking about? Benford’s advanced coverage statistics were outstanding. The concussion concern is real though and I pry wouldn’t extend him until next year.
  24. Good thing I’m not GM as I’d be on the phone right now saying you can have all our draft picks the next two years and a set of steak knives for Metcalf.
  25. I strongly disagree as they play close to 100% of the snaps and both should've been pro bowlers this year. The dropoff between them and a potential rookie or free agent at their position is significantly more than if we were to draft a RB in rounds 2 or 3 to replace Cook. There are a lot of exciting RB prospects that we can get on rookie contracts this draft on day 2.
