  1. I thought he picked the Jets to win and the Browns to lose.
  2. I'd try to sign one of the big name FA's available and if I can't then I'd pry offer him around a 3 year 22 million dollar contract with 11.5 million guaranteed. I wouldn't overpay for him though considering there's a lot of other contracts that should take priority in the coming years (White, Poyer, Hyde, Milano, Dawkins). Obviously the coaching staff has a much better read on Shaq and can determine if he's having his best season because of his development or extra motivation due to knowing it's his contract year (which he's referenced on several occasions). True, but I'd rather overpay for an elite player consistent production over four or five years. I remember it being reported Lawson reported to camp out of shape McDermott's first year so there's that potential.
  3. It's tricky because you don't know if the motivation will be gone once he gets his contract for a player like Lawson. I'd like to see the Bills let Shaq and Murphy go and upgrade by signing a top FA DE as there will be some to target this offseason. We need more consistent pressure from that spot.
  4. That would be a great problem to have as the alternative will pry be sweating a Sam Darnold 4th quarter comeback attempt that may knock us out of the playoffs. We came out pretty flat out of the bye and trailed at the half against the Fins. Of course we were wearing all red so I don't know if it meant anything but I'd play our starters for at least a half.
  5. The guy on McDermott's right is hiding a paper behind his back the whole time until McDermott exits through the tunnel. Fulfilling his "do your job" segment for their series.
  6. I appreciate the simplicity of the American system of government after watching this whole mess unfold.
  7. Used to have to fill 80,000 plus too. Didn't we set an attendance record in one of those Superbowl years?
  8. The MLB is America's pastime and therefore shouldn't fall victim to the socialist policies implemented by the NFL and NHL.
  9. It's not the NFL's fault the Pats miss on more picks than they hit on. Another option they have besides fines and draft picks are suspensions. They suspended Brady one game. Sean Peyton was suspended a year for bountygate. Depending on how much steam this story picks up, a suspension for Belichick isn't out of the questions.
  10. It's not a stupid contract because there's no salary cap. They obviously don't give a crap about the luxury tax. Plus the MLB player's union is an actual functioning union that refused to be bullied by owners pushing for a hard cap.
  11. They forced them to give up a 1st round pick for spygate. They took a 1st and a 4th away from them for Deflategate along with suspending Brady four games. Plus, fined them a lot of dough in both instances. That's pretty severe punishment. There has to be credible evidence for them to throw the book at them (no matter how much we hate them) but I don't think the NFL will sweep it under the rug.
  12. Well, if you can't beat him. Sign him for 324 million dollars. Go Yanks.
  13. Kareem Hunt, Adrian Peterson, Ben Roethlisberger, Tyreek Hill
  14. I agree with this for the most part but moving the extra point back 13 yards also has something to do with it. Especially if you have a struggling kicker.
  15. That's one of the two counterpoints for them not going for the two. The other is the Ravens offense would be more conservative knowing they're up two scores meaning they rush the ball to keep that clock winding. I would hope the defense is strong enough mentally to fight to the very end regardless of the score. McDermott made the right decision though as the positives for going for two at that point outweighed the negatives.
  16. Yes. Identical formation and sequence. Copycat league.
  17. How is this thread five pages? Any person who can do math and knows football will tell you that's the right call.
  18. The two best defense we faced were at home so it's just as likely the same poor offensive showings would've happened on the road. However, we played much better in Miami than we did facing them at home so evidence points to them being more comfortable on the road. Josh Allen in particular seems more amped up in front of the home crowd which isn't that uncommon for a young quarterback.
  19. I found it's easier to give advice after the fact. I need Miles Sanders to get 10 points for me tomorrow so Jordan Howard better not play.
  20. It's becoming more clear why Beane bothered inquiring about AB before realizing he was a mental case. I see future stars in DK Metcalf, Terry McLaurin, AJ Brown, etc... and some of us were pounding the table to draft one of them in the 2nd round. Especially AJ Brown in my case as we needed a precise route runner considering at the time I only though Brown, Foster, McKenzie were just speed guys with limited route running ability. I felt like we adequately addressed the o-line in free agency at the time. Cody Ford has been underwhelming and I hope they move him to guard next year where he'll hopefully develop into an above average starter.
