  1. Five easy to see motivations. -Wife wants another private jet -Wants to win more titles than Jordan -Wants to prove he can win title without Belichick (if he leaves New England) -Wants to finish career with most all time passing yards (about 3,000 behind Brees right now) -Wants to show that the TB12 method works
  2. I actually think the Comey reopening of the Hillary case had more of a swing with malleable voters as a large reason those state polls were off was most of the undecideds in the final polls went to Trump. I remember my wife saying something along the lines of "She is really corrupt. Isn't she" after the Comey announcement. Unfortunately, we'll never really know. It was the most interesting election in my lifetime though.
  3. I don't buy it. The prospect of an Obama 3rd term to people on the politically engaged right was enough for them to hold their noses and vote for Trump. They're smart enough to know that a vote for a 3rd party is worthless. We'll never really know but the hatred of Obama/Hillary overcame whatever reservations they had about Trump even before that comment.
  4. Wasn't their last game here the Music City Miracle?
  5. If Bolton appears on a tv show tomorrow morning then it was definitely a planned hit job. If not, I'm not sure as Bolton's reputation makes him difficult to read. They do have a weak field of candidates but the one advantage the nominee will have is a "bring decency back to the White House" that Bush Jr. ran on.
  6. He was never not going to be acquitted. Democrats win either way as it looks to the casual follower of politics who read the headlines will conclude that the Republicans were afraid to call witnesses. They now have their political ads ready to go for the purple state Senators up for reelection.
  7. It's odd he didn't retire as I assumed he would. He'd be a great one year signing as we'll have the money and he's still highly productive even at his age. Doubt he'd come here though.
  8. I just look at the QB's taken in the 2nd round that year (Adams, Robinson, Landry, Richardson, Lee) and wonder whether it wouldn't be prudent to wait until then this year being such a deep class.
  9. Pry not enough to change the election in 2016 but it may in 2020. Most people who are offended by those comments were already voting for Trump. Lemon just reinforced the out of touch coastal liberal elites contempt for middle America that has been a Republican rallying cry for quite a while now. This strategy by the right hurts candidates like Warren, Bloomberg, and Buttigeg more than Sanders or Biden.
  10. On the field - Mike Williams - could've been an all time great tackles but didn't have the work ethic. Off the field - OJ Simpson - convicted of armed robbery.
  11. Usually when you're about to hand a QB a huge contract and have zero first round picks the next two seasons it doesn't end well long term. Texans defense is average at best losing talents like Clowney and the Honey Badger. How much longer does JJ Watt have? I just see their ceiling as a divisional round team at best before regressing in a couple of years. BOB will be gone by then as he's a so so coach.
  12. He's their lapdog who takes all the criticism so they don't have to. He's also made them a lot of money since he took over as tv revenue has exploded.
  13. Not to run a platform that is too liberal for a right of center country. Bloomberg is the most moderate of any of the candidates and I heard the same criticism of another NYC billionaire four years ago.
  14. Mostly right although Brown did make the pro bowl allowing only one sack in 11 games before he got hurt. Buyer beware when it comes to Pats o-lineman. If we're going to go after an o-lineman I'd prefer Jack Conklin if the Titans don't resign him.
  15. Yeah. Bernie may have a shot here. I'd rather lose with someone like him than a moderate candidate like Bloomberg or Biden. At least the party would learn the right lesson.
  16. At least we know he's not lying about his sexuality.
  17. Stats have to be considered for the HOF. Flacco had a lot of mediocre games and then went on a great run to win SB MVP. Would you consider him a HOF'er if he repeated the same performance three years later? Eli has similar stats (QB rating is identical) but just played longer.
  18. My mistake. You made it sound as if Eli gets in and then Rivers that's the last straw.
  19. The Saints apparently think he's good enough to be Brees successor. Sean Payton's ego on full display. Drew Brees may not decide on his 2020 plans for another few weeks, but the New Orleans Saints already know what they would like to happen at the quarterback position, and their vision involves both Brees and another player currently on the team. That's according to ProFootballTalk's Mike Florio, who reported Tuesday that the Saints want the 41-year-old Brees to return for a 20th NFL season. Except they also want 2020 to serve as a transition year, per Florio, with Brees passing the torch to backup and utility player Taysom Hill, who would then fully take over under center in 2021. "Even if Brees comes back," Florio said, "Hill will be used much more extensively as part of the team's offense in 2020 -- especially in light of some private regret that, if Hill had been utilized just a little bit more in the wild-card loss to the (Minnesota) Vikings, the Saints quite likely would have won the game."
  20. I disagree. He's a borderline HOFer while Eli isn't. His stats are superior. Eli relied heavily on those defenses to win those SB's. Being in the NFC helped not having to go through Brady, P. Manning, and Roethlisberger every year. Rivers - 64.7%, 59,271 yards, 397 TD's, 198 INT's, 95.1 passer rating, 123-101 regular season record. 5-6 in the playoffs with a 84.2 passer rating Eli- 60.3%, 57,023 yards, 366 TD's, 244 INT's, 84.1 passer rating, 117-117 regular season record. 8-4 in the playoffs with a 87.4 passer rating. 2 SB's, 2 SB MVP's
  21. 49ers wins 37-31 in overtime. Surprise of the game is Jimmy G goes for over 300 yards passing with 3 TD's.
  22. Trump has to vet his people better. They all seem to backstab him on the way out. Also, why Trump just didn't say that he temporarily delayed the aid to investigate corruption in Ukraine including Burisma right away is beyond me. Denying it right away like he did just makes it harder on his defense team and the purple state GOP Senators.
  23. True, but if White wanted out and Edmunds was in high demand then I'd get what I could (they got a 2nd round pick too). Especially if they were from a previous regime and I needed a franchise QB. Beane traded Watkins, Darby, and eventually Tyrod. Only time will tell but if they get a superstar franchise QB because of their additional draft capital then they were good trades.
  24. True, but make them use as many draft assets to trade up as possible. They're the team that scares me out of any other in the AFC East long term as they seem to be rebuilding the right way with a solid head coach in place.
