  1. The Raiders have had two winning seasons since Brady's first Super Bowl win. They lack weapons at WR. Their defense is middle of the pack. I don't see it as at least the Pats have a decent defense.
  2. This is what's being reported. Bernie supporters I'm sure have their doubts. https://thehill.com/homenews/campaign/481057-critical-iowa-poll-scrapped-over-apparent-coding-error A source with knowledge of the decision said a computer monitor in the call center used to conduct the poll was set to show font at a larger-than-normal text. That setting cut off the name of the last candidate listed in the randomized order testing potential Democratic candidates. In the case of at least one voter, the Buttigieg supporter, the randomized order placed Buttigieg last — and so Buttigieg’s name was not mentioned.
  3. Obviously. They're to blame for the student debt crisis.
  4. Personally, I've had more problems with FedEx than I have had with the USPS. Obviously, that's anecdotal.
  5. No. I do know the USPS must deliver mail and packages to everyone in the US including those in rural areas. FedEx, UPS, etc. aren't required to.
  6. You didn't vote for Hillary who was at least going to try and get a public option through that would've at least nudged us closer to medicare for all? Instead we have a president that's done everything in their power to chip away at the ACA. More Bernie supporters voted for Hillary than Hillary supporters voted for Obama in '08 so at least you weren't in the majority. You do realize that people on the right want a fractured Democratic party because it increases their chances of winning the election. It happened to the RNC with Trump in '16 but they eventually rallied behind him. The DNC will do the same with Bernie. The whole "take down the system" approach is appealing but a pipe dream. Meanwhile, in the real world there are still millions of Americans who aren't covered and about 66% of bankruptcies declared are due to medical issues.
  7. He could've worded that better as politicians can easily do something he/she believes will both help their reelection chances and benefit the public. Your incentive to do a good job at work is at least partially motivated to keep your job and/or get a raise. It helps you and the company. If Trump made this argument from the start instead of denying everything (including saying there was no quid pro quo) then this whole mess could've been avoided.
  8. Hardman could be an interesting play considering he returns kicks and can catch a bomb for a TD. He could be the MVP if Mahomes has an average game against that 49ers defense. You can get him at +6600 in some sports books.
  9. I agree and one player that stands out to me as their type of player is the DE Yetur Gross-Matos (have fun with that spelling) out of Penn State. His stock will likely go up after the combine as he's an athletic freak for his size (6'5, 264 lbs). Beane seems to like players that were productive in college but still have a lot of potential to grow (Edmunds, Oliver, Allen). He would be the perfect fit if we lose Lawson.
  10. Not a Super Bowl bet but I'm still kicking myself for not listening to this guy who suggested taking Lamar Jackson at 80 to 1 odds to win NFL MVP in August of last year. He has the 49ers at +1 1/2 btw. 5 Long Shot Value Bets For The NFL MVP Award 1. Lamar Jackson Jackson definitely qualifies as a long shot. If you act now, you can wager on him to take home the MVP Award at 80:1. That’s a solid long shot given just how easy it is to envision a scenario where he brings home the hardware. The Ravens offense is trying to prove that not everyone in the NFL has to throw the ball frequently to be successful. They’re going to run the ball more than anyone else in the league. Jackson is going to get a ton of those carries from the quarterback position. That reliance on the run game is going to make Baltimore dangerous via play action. That’s where Jackson will need to get a little bit of good luck to pad his stats. Imagine a world in which the Ravens go 12-4, win the division and Jackson rushes for 1,000 yards and throws for another 3,000. That would at least get him in the MVP conversation. It’s not likely a likely outcome, but it’s a long way from impossible.
  11. I don't think we do either because it would be idiotic. I predict we go DE or LB in 1st round and WR in the 2nd given the depth at the WR position. We may move up a few spots in the 2nd round to get our WR. If we were to trade up we'd have to offer our 1st, 2nd, and 3rd at minimum. I like CeeDee Lamb over Jeudy and would have to leapfrog the Raiders at 12. The Browns would be the target at #10 as they may like to move down to acquire more picks to address their depth at OL.
  12. Five easy to see motivations. -Wife wants another private jet -Wants to win more titles than Jordan -Wants to prove he can win title without Belichick (if he leaves New England) -Wants to finish career with most all time passing yards (about 3,000 behind Brees right now) -Wants to show that the TB12 method works
  13. I actually think the Comey reopening of the Hillary case had more of a swing with malleable voters as a large reason those state polls were off was most of the undecideds in the final polls went to Trump. I remember my wife saying something along the lines of "She is really corrupt. Isn't she" after the Comey announcement. Unfortunately, we'll never really know. It was the most interesting election in my lifetime though.
  14. I don't buy it. The prospect of an Obama 3rd term to people on the politically engaged right was enough for them to hold their noses and vote for Trump. They're smart enough to know that a vote for a 3rd party is worthless. We'll never really know but the hatred of Obama/Hillary overcame whatever reservations they had about Trump even before that comment.
  15. If Bolton appears on a tv show tomorrow morning then it was definitely a planned hit job. If not, I'm not sure as Bolton's reputation makes him difficult to read. They do have a weak field of candidates but the one advantage the nominee will have is a "bring decency back to the White House" that Bush Jr. ran on.
  16. He was never not going to be acquitted. Democrats win either way as it looks to the casual follower of politics who read the headlines will conclude that the Republicans were afraid to call witnesses. They now have their political ads ready to go for the purple state Senators up for reelection.
  17. It's odd he didn't retire as I assumed he would. He'd be a great one year signing as we'll have the money and he's still highly productive even at his age. Doubt he'd come here though.
  18. I just look at the QB's taken in the 2nd round that year (Adams, Robinson, Landry, Richardson, Lee) and wonder whether it wouldn't be prudent to wait until then this year being such a deep class.
  19. Pry not enough to change the election in 2016 but it may in 2020. Most people who are offended by those comments were already voting for Trump. Lemon just reinforced the out of touch coastal liberal elites contempt for middle America that has been a Republican rallying cry for quite a while now. This strategy by the right hurts candidates like Warren, Bloomberg, and Buttigeg more than Sanders or Biden.
  20. On the field - Mike Williams - could've been an all time great tackles but didn't have the work ethic. Off the field - OJ Simpson - convicted of armed robbery.
  21. Usually when you're about to hand a QB a huge contract and have zero first round picks the next two seasons it doesn't end well long term. Texans defense is average at best losing talents like Clowney and the Honey Badger. How much longer does JJ Watt have? I just see their ceiling as a divisional round team at best before regressing in a couple of years. BOB will be gone by then as he's a so so coach.
