  1. Deaths up today. Good news is spike may be because of backlog of weekend cases just being reported.
  2. True. I'm just of the belief that player's should avoid social media when it comes to discussing contracts. It's not a good look. It gives teams that value fitting into a "culture" like the Bills pause when thinking of breaking the bank for you.
  3. Hard pass on Yannick. He's not worth top money at that position as he's more of a pass rush specialist who isn't good against the run. The fact that we'd pry have to give up a 2nd and a 3rd or something like that just to have the rights to sign him to a bloated contract makes him all the less appealing. Plus, I question his "culture" fit given his whining on social media. Let's draft and develop a guy while getting the absolute most out of Hughes before he retires. Save the money to keep the young core in place on both sides of the ball for a long time.
  4. That you shouldn't take journalists out Soviet style like you suggested.
  5. You pretty much listed all of them since the turn of the century. I'll add Torrell Troup and Cyrus Kouandjio. McGahee and Watkins are in the same boat. They had okay careers (mostly outside of Buffalo) but definitely weren't worth giving up a 1st rounder for.
  6. Did you know that JJ Watt brought emotional energy back to the Texans for that playoff game? ESPN overproduces the hell out of the game feeling they have to one up all the other networks who also overproduce the games. I wouldn't mind if they brought over Kevin Harlan and Kurt Warner from Westwood one as they're much easier to listen to and have decent chemistry. Maybe add Louis Riddick as a three man team. Get rid of the gimmicks and increase the analysis.
  7. If the FBI is paying him then I seriously underestimated the capabilities of our federal government agencies.
  8. I've never been stuck with my wife this long.
  9. He's more of a glass half empty kind of guy. Historically, virus outbreaks have been overestimated mostly because you don't want to be the guy that underestimated how many people would die.
  10. Paying 17.5 million for a backup is silly. Especially when there's no dead cap money in releasing him. Unless he's willing to rework his contract (why would he?), I don't see him sticking around. If the Bengals can't trade him they'll likely cut him after the draft.
  11. With the 62nd pick of the 2020 NFL draft the Green Bay Packers select Jake Fromm, QB, Georgia Aaron Rodgers will likely fall off a cliff this year and I'm not losing my damn job because of it. @Buffalo716 and the Kansas City Chiefs are now on the clock.
  12. "Never underestimate the power of stupid people in large groups." -George Carlin
  13. In a league where RB's are devalued we have three on the all decade team, three drafted in the 1st round since 2001, and the one that pry had the biggest impact was an undrafted player from NFL Europe. Sigh.
  14. Normally I'd trust Beane and McDermott to make the right call and look to upgrade.........but they thought it was a good idea to start Nathan Peterman so I don't trust them when it comes to QB's.
  15. Dalton will be cut to save that money. Good luck finding someone to trade with to take on that contract. So once he's a free agent I'm sure there will be a lot of bitters. A banged up Flacco, Newton, and a mistake prone Winston is far superior to Matt Barkley. I mean only if you intend on still competing if Allen goes down for some reason. If not you're just tanking for a higher draft pick.
  16. It wasn't a flat out denial and Newton may have to settle for a backup spot. I also am encouraged that Beane didn't give a definitive "Barkley is our backup. Period." Hope we try to upgrade to Dalton, Flacco, Newton, or Winston in that order.
  17. Developing chemistry with three new WR's in one year would've been difficult. If Diggs is a "diva" that we all worry about then this team is better equipped to handle him this year compared to last year. Developing chemistry with Brown last year should allow Allen to take advantage of the mismatches against other team's 2nd CB's. Same goes with Beasley who should have plenty of room in the slot with our two weapons on the outside.
  18. Given the depth at the position it wouldn't surprise me if a borderline 1st round talent at WR slipped to us in the 3rd round. You absolutely take him if that's the case and develop him. Jon Brown had a great year last year but has an injury history. Plus, he's 30. Beane's done enough the last three years to truly have the luxury of drafting the best player available.
  19. It makes sense when you're not prepared to assign blame. I don't expect the president or any of these governors to say the buck stops with me.
  20. The goal with social distancing was to beat the models so that's a good thing. It's working and there's fear with experts that if we beat the modeling people won't take the measures seriously anymore. Unless otherwise notified, stay the frig home.
