It will be interesting to see the national cdc flu reports this flu seasons though and compare it with the average. How many people that died from covid would've died from the flu anyways?

If you look at the trends from previous years and this year you'll notice a significant reduction in number of medical visits around the 13th to 15th week of the year for influenza. The chart is hard to read because it doesn't give you the date but just the number of weeks. It looks like on the report for March 28th there were around 123 or so flu deaths reported, April 4th there were about 130?, April 11th about 120?, and then it shot down to around 5 on April 18th as the weather got warmer. That's at least how I read it if I'm looking at the right graph. The graphs are poorly done if I'm looking at the correct one's. I'm sure some people who died from covid would also have died from catching the flu but that report doesn't tell me much to be honest.

No. I question the intelligence and/or sincerity of anybody who compares it to the flu at this point. I don't see how you can read that tweet and not consider Candace Owens a grifter appealing to her audience out to sell books. Just based out of the data coming out of Sweden and the multiple smaller sample studies done showing herd immunity may be closer than we think I'm all for opening up as soon as possible in states and cities that haven't been devastated with this tomhanksvirus like NYC and a few other cities have. However, it's still more contagious and deadly than the flu based off any studies I've seen so far.

Belichick's coaching style and lack of weapons is why he left. Nothing more. He still went 2-0 against the best Bills team since '99 with anemic weapons so I highly doubt it factored AT ALL into his decision.

The '99-'00 team was pretty good. Defense was outstanding finishing 2nd in points allowed and 1st in yards allowed. Offense was middle of the pack with a decent group of WR's (Moulds, Price, Reed) and RB's (Smith, Linton). QB play held us back from winning the division and getting a bye. Special teams obviously was horrible.

That's the part I was trying to get at. I think this will prove to be the wrong hire. The Pats could move on from Brady with a one million dollar buy out in 2018 whereas the Packers at best can dump Rodgers in three years and still take a 17 million dollar dead cap hit. They just don't have the cap space largely because of Rodgers's contract to upgrade the interior of their d-line or sign a premium WR or TE in free agency. So, you have to build through the draft and not addressing those areas of need was just bizarre. Especially the RB in the 2nd round considering they have Jones and Williams. Funchess had one good year in Carolina and other than that he's been a middling WR. Relying on him and a 3rd round TE who shows promise is quite the gamble.

That's pry correct. I hate doing math based off a chart when it comes to people dying but we are on the decline when it comes to number of deaths which means we can start opening up soon depending on where you are as a state on the curve. The areas hit hardest like NYC will pry have the most difficult transition as all they've heard is sirens the last month and a half or so.

I try to take my personal feelings about Rodgers out of this because he's my least favorite QB in the NFL. The Packers committed to him when they signed him to that long term deal that they won't be able to get out of until after the 2022 season and STILL take a 17 million dollar dead cap hit. They shouldn't have hired LaFleur if the plan wasn't to make every move possible to win within that four year window. To reiterate, they traded up to draft a developmental quarterback, a rotational running back who isn't a pass catching RB, and a back up blocking tight end with their first three picks. Their big receiver addition was Devin Funchess who caught five passes last year and they didn't draft a single WR in one of the deepest drafts ever at the position. They needed some serious help with the middle of their d-line as they were exposed by SF and they didn't address it at all in free agency or the draft. By the time they're ready to move on from Rodgers making the big assumption that Jordan Love will work out, Love will be ready to sign his second contract. So.....the Packers miss out on their opportunity to take advantage of a QB on his rookie contract like KC did and didn't do everything they could to win now with an all time great nearing the end of his career. I'm sorry. I still don't get the strategy.

You look at the average of the last seven days compared to the previous week and there's about 300 less deaths per day so I think it's safe to say we've hit our peak nationally and are slowly on the decline. You're right in that NYC deaths are going down while some states are peaking right now. It'll be up to each governor on when to reopen (as it should be).

Good news is there's less deaths than last Tuesday. Bad news is it's quite the spike from the weekend.

The 62nd pick of the draft is a lot less valuable than the number 29 pick where they could've drafted Higgins, Mims, Pittman, etc... Pats already had a great offense in place. Rodgers doesn't have a reliable passing target besides DeVante Adams. OT was also a huge need after they lost Bulaga and they ignored that. Based off free agency and the draft it seems like they're punting on the season for the future which is so bizarre considering they were one game away from the Super Bowl.

It was a 3rd round pick for Rudolph. Big difference. Plus, Big Ben has been hinting at retirement like Favre was at the time. I think it was March of 2005 when Favre said he'd be back next season and wouldn't commit beyond that. Unless there's something going on behind the scenes, I haven't heard Rodgers mention the possibility of retiring any time soon.

Definitely a wasted pick. Love almost threw as many picks as touchdowns last year. It's even more damaging than a wasted pick though because it creates a toxic locker room. Huge mistake by the Packers that will likely cost LaFleur his job down the road.

Two reasons. Rodgers was a much more highly touted prospect than Love as their was debate about him possibly going #1 while Love was barely considered a first round pick and is a huge project. The Packers only took Rodgers because he fell to them at #24 and couldn't pass on the value. Also, Favre had already started his yearly retirement talks so they didn't even know at the time if he'd be back that year for sure. If Tua or Herbert fell to them at #30 then I'd be all for drafting Rodgers eventual replacement. All they did by drafting Love was waste a 1st round pick on somebody that won't help them win now. It's just going to create a toxic locker room for a quarterback that compares more with Bortles as a prospect than Mahomes.

The hell it isn't. You'll get less selection and higher prices if the meat industry takes a hit.

The only way it makes sense is if they thought Love was a once in a generation prospect. Rodgers has four years left on his contract and they'd have to wait until after the 2022 season if they don't want to swallow a ton of dead money. They were one win from the Superbowl and they could've used that pick to address their offensive line or provide Rodgers with a #2 WR opposite Devante Adams in a WR rich draft. On top of that they gave up a 4th round pick to move up fro Love and drafted a RB. This is the kind of draft that would make more sense next year at the earliest.
