  1. The last thing the Pats would do would give a QB a market setting contract. Even if he did I'd be okay with it because he's no 26 year old Brady.
  2. I thought it was a smart political move but unnecessary. A simple address from the oval office would've been fine. Here's George HW Bush after the Rodney King riots.
  3. You may be right but it's highly likely they'll keep all offseason activity in one location (team headquarters) as much as possible.
  4. TJ Yeldon maybe depending on Williams's or Wade's development. You might be able to get a late round pick for him. Make sure you have O'Brien on speed dial in case Tytus Howard cuts him in line at the buffet.
  5. The local media seems to do a much better job at least in Buffalo. Two cops were hit by a vehicle on Bailey and they'll hopefully be okay.
  6. "Every time a riot develops, it helps George Wallace." -MLK Of course the riots help Trump. There's going to be 1,000 news cycles between now and November though.
  7. You can turn that around on the right too though with those who complain about Trump being censored on a private company (Twitter) yet condemned Kaepernick kneeling on company time. I don't know if you're one of those people but there's plenty on both sides who are hypocritical and will twist themselves into pretzels when trying to explain their inconsistencies.
  8. His polling with evangelicals was slipping a little bit lately. Smart move.
  9. This is probably correct for most white people but it's pry not as pronounced as you believe it is. We continue as a society to try and bridge that gap. There's no excuses for looting and rioting though.
  10. Last year we had the benefit of flying under the radar, the easiest schedule I've ever seen, and a very healthy roster throughout the season for the most part. I don't think we get any of those breaks this season. Even with the added talent a 9-7 record wouldn't surprise me.

  12. Oh no. They're comfy with their high salaries capitalism provides. What they want is a center left president who makes them feel good about themselves.
  13. Cool moment here except for the annoying comments.
  14. This is great. If you're going to loot you mine as well do it in style.
  15. Good practice run for next February. Early 1940's probably.
  16. I was alluding to the rioting and looting.
  17. He also tweeted that vaccines cause autism and he's never seen a skinny person drink diet coke. I don't take that guy seriously.
  18. It's easier to point the finger at one person than examine the structural problems in our society that leads to situations like this.
  19. I wouldn't broadly apply that to all cops although it's definitely true with cops in high crime areas where they're conditioned to see the community as the enemy. Internal coverups among police departments are a major problem and my guess is with this particular officer a lot was swept under the rug before this happened. The mental health of cops also have to be considered as they're on average more stressed, depressed, suicidal, etc. than the average worker in other occupations and less likely to seek help.
  20. No kidding. Nobody here is defending that aholes actions.
  21. That should be obvious considering black people only comprise about 13% of the population while white people compromise about 60%. The best estimates are you're about 2.5 times more likely to be killed by a cop in your lifetime if you're black compared to white in the US. However, black people are more likely to commit crimes so it's difficult to quantify how much racism (at all) is attributed to that number.
  22. Building more trust between police and communities is the best way to accomplish that. Finding more ways for police agencies to integrate their officers into the community should be the goal.
