Taylor Rapp underrated? Espn thinks so!
Doc Brown replied to GASabresIUFan's topic in The Stadium Wall
He did post this if interested. Kind of splitting the baby here. -
Trump's 79th Birthday Parade
Doc Brown replied to Homelander's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
I remember they did a military parade in 1991 after the Gulf War. I thought it was pretty cool to do for all the veterans. -

He also was the only voter to give Allen an MVP vote in 2023 denying Jackson all 50 votes and took a lot of heat for it. He voted for Lamar this year. He takes his DVOA pretty seriously. -

Maybe I'm late to the party on this but what's wrong with celebrating the Army's 250th Birthday? -
45% of US companies to raise prices…
Doc Brown replied to joshypoo's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
That's fine man. I just get a kick out of people who say the wealthy should pay their "fair share" in a progressive tax system. In the same way I see Republicans twisting themselves into pretzels trying to justify tariffs when they know it's just a regressive tax hurting lower income groups the most. -

Marginally better and Rapp was the better run defender. Both below average starting safeties. The Bills could use an upgrade at both spots ideally so I'm pulling for Bishop and Forrest this training camp. -
In my expert opinion it's because the tackle position you have to main a proper playing rate of above 300 pounds. That means when they retire they have to start eating less which sucks. I'd try and play until I was 40 if it meant I could consume 6,500 calories a day.

Their fair share. A phrase created by politicians to gain support using class warfare to further divide us. To me fair is I make a buck a year and pay 10 cents in taxes. My boss makes a thousand dollars and pays a hundred dollar in taxes. We both paid our fair share. He contributed much more to the overall pot but I have no reason to resent him. What's your definition of "fair share?" Is it 40% for the top income bracket? 60%? 90%? -
Usually I'd agree with this sentiment but how different are the Bills and Ravens different from last year to this year? The Ravens offense and the Bills offense pretty much ran it back. We had more turnover on our defense than they had in theirs but we'll have some rookies starting the first games of their career facing the Jackson/Henry combo. It's absolutely fair to argue they're the better team roster wise. Our defense had no answer to them in the regular season game or the playoff game. The major difference in the playoff game was the three turnovers (two of which were wtf is Lamar doing?) and us taking a conservative heavy run game plan where we won the time of possession. The Mark Andrews drop also helped. Our coaching staff knows this and hopefully they have a better defensive game plan than hoping the Ravens will make a few bone headed plays.

I enjoyed the Jets one because you could see how star gazed the coaches and players were when Rodgers got to the team. Even the owner was groveling over him. It was like seeing a jet crash in slow motion. No pun intended.

Good god. It was sarcasm of Beane's WGR call. WR is the most concerning position going into this season and whether the WR's step up in the playoffs will pry determine our fate......again.

Does anyone use Buffalobills.com anymore?
Doc Brown replied to Another Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall
This one's better. People would start too many threads on the same topic and moderators wouldn't bother to ever consolidate them. It was odd when they just shut it down without warning. I was ready to continue my passionate argument about why the Bills should put the franchise tag on Gilmore and I never got to finish it. -
New NFL Award, Thanks to Dion Dawkins. Protector of the Year.
Doc Brown replied to Draconator's topic in The Stadium Wall
I think Trent Williams, Tristan Wirfs, Jordan Mailata, Lane Johnson, Laremy Tunsil, Christian Darrisaw, and Rashawn Slater are better left tackles than Dawkins if we're going to just keep it on the left side. I think making the pro bowl four years in a row is getting enough credit. I don't think he's ever been close to being a top two left tackle in the league though when it comes to All Pro voting. -
Fair enough. It's never good when the argument for keeping him is he can be more effective if one of our two rookie DT's become upgrades over last year and we have to scheme him to be more effective. I think the argument is fruitless though because I don't think a team would take on his $5.7m base salary if we did find a trading partner.

45% of US companies to raise prices…

I've yet to hear a good argument against it assuming the lowest income earners don't pay taxes at all. I doubt the US ever does it though because the transitional period would be too burdensome. -

How about extend the tax cuts (flat tax would be cool), cut spending, and remove the tariffs. Maybe we're just allergic to having a thriving economy. -
I was in tears as a senior in high school after the Wide Right game and my late father consoled me by saying "players get paid while fans work for free." Since then a loss won't ruin my night or drag me down the next day. It's just a bunch of 20 to 30's something kids playing a game where only 1 of 32 fan bases are happy at the end of the season. It's a fun sport to watch, follow, discuss strategies, discuss players, and debate. I just am not that emotionally attached to it because the alternative sucks.

It's a risk I'd take if Jackson looks good in training camp. Him and AJE are similar players and their skill set would be redundant as the DE2 opposite Groot or Bosa. You keep him if you can't trade him but that $6.2m cap savings is too good to pass up. I'm not worried about losing a DE that actually regressed last year finishing with a pass rush grade of 56 (139 of 211 qualifying DE's) and a run defensive grade of 58.7 (117 of 211). You can always kick get creative and kick out an athletic DT (Sanders) on likely running plays too since that position will likely be crowded too. Maybe they bring back Smoot at the rookie minimum if none of your likely practice squad DE camp bodies aren't ready to be a healthy scratch the first six weeks if you're worried about injury.
-
Epenesa is a slightly below average DE starter. He's not a decent player. If you can get something for him and save $6.2m against the cap you do it. Maybe use that money to extend McGovern or give you the flexibility to add a WR at the trade deadline again (or any other position where injuries crop up). If Jackson is who we hope he is then we could role with Rousseau, Bosa, Jackson, Hoecht, and Soloman. I agree with you about Miller though. He's washed.

Final score 146 to 122. -
I always thought PTI carried Around The Horn since its inception even before alternative/social media gave it more competition. I do give the show credit for trying to combine a debate show and game show into one which was unique. However, there was too much stimuli at once for my taste with the point system, the time limit, the elimination, and the revolving panelists. I'm very curious to how they're going to replace that time slot.

"This administration is holding Harvard accountable for fostering violence, antisemitism, and coordinating with the Chinese Communist Party on its campus." I guess I read it wrong or maybe she should've been more clear as there's too much ambiguity in that wording. Is she directly accusing the president and higher ups of Harvard for knowingly being in cahoots with China by knowingly letting their Chinese exchange students steal intellectual IP for the CPP? If that's the case they better have some solid evidence. It can also be interpreted (and I guess this is where I'm at now) that Harvard doesn't do enough to police the Intellectual IP theft in their research labs. If that's the case, just say that. My guess is this will get shot down in the Federal courts pretty quickly.

Unfortunately, this bill doesn't say anything about tariffs because Congress doesn't have enough guts to take back that power they should have. If this bill passes it at least has staying power. I'd wait until the final version of the bill passes to judge it as public pressure for any kind of welfare spending cuts is probably going to be removed or significantly reduced.

Which takes away time that McDermott could be using developing his exotic defensive game plan against the Ravens. I kid. I posted it earlier but the Hard Knock training camp teams are 9-10-1 in reaching their preseason over/under. It isn't a distraction.
