  1. He definitely set the blueprint for how to get a 7 million dollar yearly raise and about 130 million more in guaranteed money.
  2. Newton missed two games the first four years of his career with the same playing style. Josh missed three I believe his rookie year. It's unsustainable.
  3. McDermott saw what happened to Cam first hand. It's a cautionary tale the Bills need to learn real quick. Article from 2016.... Carolina Panthers quarterback Cam Newton has taken a beating in his NFL career, far more than any quarterback in recent history. And suddenly, at the still-young age of 27, Newton is facing the first flash point between playing style and long-term future. Newton is officially cleared to return from a concussion suffered when he tried scrambling into the end zone in Week 4. The play, and his subsequent one-game absence, was a reminder that no quarterback -- not even one who broke into the league with a patented "Superman" celebration -- can indefinitely absorb unnecessary punishment without consequence.? Ahead of Sunday's game in New Orleans, let's take a closer look at what Newton has exposed his body to during his six-year career. The Panthers say they won't limit his running or impose a fundamental change in their offense, but we'll consider a suggestion for lessening the toll nonetheless. Newton has been hit on 831 plays over 82 games in his career, an average of about 10 per game. The number may sound small, but it is actually extraordinary in the context of other quarterbacks. The next-closest quarterback has taken nearly 300 fewer hits over the same time period. This tally includes every play he has been hit on while either on the run or while throwing, but it is capped at one hit per play and doesn't include contact after the throw or on two-point conversions. Since 2011, the Panthers have called more than twice the number of designed runs for Newton than any other team has for another quarterback. And they have resulted in 1,941 rushing yards, more than double Russell Wilson's 833. Nearly two-thirds of Newton's designed QB runs have gone between the guards, where maximum contact occurs. Newton also has taken off on more scrambles -- runs when a pass play breaks down -- than anyone but Wilson over this span. In all, Newton has been hit at least once on 533 of 575 plays that were either designed runs or meaningful scrambles in his career.
  4. I remember me and my brother driving home in just my boxers after the '08 Giants game because my clothes were soaked and there was a 50/50 chance I had frostbite. That was mine "I'm done" as far as season tickets go. I'm interested to see how they do control for weather and maybe I'll be in again. This team is too fun to watch.
  5. Trevon Diggs finished dead last among corners in yards allowed and was the third most targeted CB last season. He's a feast or famine player who's overrated.
  6. Can't wait for all of this to go through and for the new stadium to break ground. I was born a Bills fan and hope to die a Bills fan. A new stadium should ensure the latter. Thanks goes out to the Pegula's as this franchise could easily be the Toronto Bills right now.
  7. They could leave it up to Josh as they have plenty of wiggle room with his contract.
  8. My board was Rosen, Darnold, Mayfield, Jackson, Allen in that order. I'd look smarter completely flipping it around. I KNOW NOTHING!!!
  9. Whaley never traded for an established #1 WR. He instead thought it was a good idea to give up a 1st rounder to move up and draft a WR who turned out to be a mental head case. Grier basically did what Beane did to get Diggs (both going into their rookie QB's third year). The bigger difference being he had to sign Hill to a massive contract. They still have a ton of picks next year and a solid young defense. The Fins now have a revamped o-line, a scheme that fits Tua's skill set perfectly, and three legitimate weapons in Hill, Waddle, and Geiseke. Now Tua has no excuses in his third season and Bridgewater is waiting in the wings if he fails. Miami is basically the 49ers of the AFC now and will be significantly better the next few years. They don't have an elite QB so we still should take the division but it got more difficult after this move and there's no way around that.
  10. Are NFC teams aware you can also trade?
  11. Which is weird because he couldn't wait to get out of Dallas. Houston makes sense. Browns make sense from a football perspective. Not sure if you want a free spirit like Beasley after you just sold your soul for Watson. New England is more of a long shot but he'd be a nice safety blanket for McCorkle. Arizona makes a lot of sense if he wants to go out West after they lost Kirk.
  12. They already have Cobb in the slot. With two first round picks they could potentially draft two WR's and then trade one of them to the Seaawks for Metcalf. Just a thought.
  13. You can't pose a poll question like that and then casually mention we might sign Joe Haden as if it won't matter in people's responses.
  14. Coaching arrogance when it comes to former first round picks on both sides of the line.
  15. I hope the Browns have to cut him and eat his salary. Karma rarely happens but Cleveland will deserve it if does.
  16. I disagree. Saying he'd nominate the first black woman SCOTUS if elected help him win the primaries and the presidency. He followed through on that promise. You may disagree with the tactic but I can't argue the effectiveness of it.
  17. FanDuel is giving him 30 million a year. Not bad for a former punter. He's been a slightly below average punter his whole career and that was mostly in good weather. I'm told he holds the ball extremely well though.
  18. Beane after the McKissic news….. Beane: NOBODY does that to me!!! !@#$ it. Forget my cap ethics. Sign Von. Sign OJ. Give me Shaq and Jordan. Give me any rb that can catch. Give me the black Beasley. Intern: what about CB 2? Beane: Woah. Let’s not go crazy here.
  19. Ryan is basically Phillip Rivers which is pry better than Carson Wentz.
  20. A move to not feel pressure to reach for rb in the draft.
  21. Relationship seemed to have soured. Haden wanted an extension before last season and didn't get one. There were trade rumors with him before the deadline that never materialized. Wallace is a younger and cheaper option.
  22. I made that comment before the contract restructuring. He's well worth a 3.5m dollar cap hit.
