  1. Yeah. The 4th. My mistake. There were 13 teams before us that passed on Rice too as the knock on him was he didn't go to a division 1 school and he had a slow 40 yard dash for a WR. I still consider Rice the greatest player in NFL history.
  2. It's got to be Andre in the third. He was the last drafted of the core four that we wouldn't have made four straight Super Bowls without. Bruce Smith at #1 was also excellent value . Howard Ballard in the 11th round was a sneaky good pick.
  3. Love the idea but Quaker Crossing is too far away from the stadium.
  4. They should've gave Wallace competition at CB2 last year either through free agency or the draft while White was healthy. They could've jumped Green Bay for Stokes or drafted Tyson Campbell. Instead we spend our first two picks on DE's after drafting one in the 2nd round the year before.
  5. Florio (a former lawyer for what it's worth) sees this as unlikely. The basic argument seems to go like this — because the NFL appealed Judge Sue L. Robinson’s six-game suspension of Watson, that punishment disappears. It will be replaced (as the argument continues) by whatever Peter Harvey, the Commissioner’s designee, decides to impose. Thus, when the time comes to take the NFL to court (and in turn to try to delay the commencement of the suspension), a preliminary injunction entered by the court would commence as of Week One, not Week Seven. There are several serious problems with this contention. First, the NFL did not challenge the six-game suspension. The NFL argued only that six games aren’t enough. The NFL’s appeal focuses on whether the suspension should extend beyond the first six weeks. Second, the NFLPA didn’t appeal the decision. That would have been the best and safest way to put Week One through Week Six in play for a court order that would allow Watson to play. The union apparently balanced P.R. concerns (it declared on Sunday night that it wouldn’t challenge Judge Robinson’s ruling) and legal strategies in deciding not to place the first six weeks in issue by filing its own appeal. And so the union will instead make the argument (weak as it may be) that an appeal by the league operates as a clearing of the decks regarding the unchallenged six-week ban. Third, nothing in the Personal Conduct Policy indicates that an appeal automatically wipes the prior punishment from the books. Indeed, the policy expressly states that the appeal “may overturn, reduce, modify or increase the discipline previously issued.” This means that the prior punishment survives the mechanical act of appealing the decision, with the question in this specific case being only whether the punishment will “increase” beyond six games.
  6. Neal is a lock with his special teams ability and reports he's having a strong camp. I think Lewis is cut and Benford makes the team. McCloud will pry be the most difficult decision and it may come down to whether they put T. White on the pup list.
  7. If this is true, why in the world would the Browns play this guy in the preseason with the chance of him having an ACL/MCL tear or even the tiny chance of a career ending injury?
  8. Genius and hilarious. I'm just mad I didn't think of it. Upgrade over Hart.
  9. Is that a feeling or a fact?
  10. No. They're terrified to marginalize gay men. That's it. The irony is by not addressing them directly makes it more likely for them more likely to catch the disease.
  11. He was a young teenager quoting a tv show but unfortunately that story will stick with him the rest of his life no matter what he does. Dominique Foxworthy (an ESPN analyst) reminded us of that in his December 2020 quote saying there's a part of him that gets happy when Josh does something dumb because of those tweets. I haven't heard Josh do or say anything controversial since we drafted him which is pretty amazing given his media exposure.
  12. Cleveland the city deserves a team they can be proud of. They need a new owner though.
  13. Because they're the Browns. A team so inept that it retained a head coach that went 1-31 the two previous seasons.
  14. I’m just going off past failed attempts by the NFLPA suing the league. Brady in particular comes to mind. It may change now that they have an impartial judge but I doubt it. The NFLPA should’ve pushed for a more impartial punishment system in the last CBA.
  15. We didn't build the biggest and baddest military in the world to be bullied by two autocratic countries. Show strength and they'll crawl back into their usual fetal positions.
  16. I thought it was too but after reflection two things made me think it was real. Chris Rock isn't that good of an actor. Will Smith wouldn't purposefully ruin his squeaky clean image and future high paying movie roles.
  17. My guess is the judge believes there's a distinction between “violent” sexual assault (cases where there is physical force or a direct threat of violence) and “non-violent” sexual assault (cases involving manipulation or coercion). Most state laws don't make that distinction (it's all just "sexual assault") so it puzzles me too. Assault is still in the ruling so Goodell can simply say any kind of sexual assault is reprehensible and damages the shield to justify extending Watson's suspension. Honestly, Robinson left Goodell with enough meat in her decision where he could easily justify a full year ban. I don't think he will but he could.
  18. Yeah. Duopoly applies here. Both parties have a vested interest in exploiting the issue of immigration for political gain and are indifferent to rolling back or ramping up the deportation of undocumented immigrants.
  19. Not a fan of celebrities in politics but if they do get involved this is how you do it. Expose the partisan bs when it comes to bills like these. Bill passes 86-11 because of congressional shaming by Stewart. Not one amendment to the bill passed in the House in July was made. This delay and spin was always about not giving Biden a "victory." Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell defended his party's handling of the legislation at a news conference on Tuesday. "Look, these kind of back and forths happen all the time in the legislative process, you've observed that over the years," he said. "I think in the end, the veterans service organizations will be pleased with the final result."
  20. Highly unlikely they win given the CBA still gives Goodell final say. It's the NFLPA's fault for agreeing to it. The wording in Judge Robinson's written decision makes it very easy for Goodell to suspend him as long as he wants if the NFL appeals the suspension.
  21. This is pretty good trolling by Stewart. He'll shame Congress into passing it like he always does.
  22. The Patriots signed Darryl Williams (two t's). I'm pretty sure Daryl Williams is a free agents still although his wikipedia page has him as a Jaguar?
  23. Darrel Williams the RB did. There's like three Darrelllywlywlw Williams.
  24. Daryl Williams is still out there but I don't know if it's feasible.
