  1. We'll find out this year but I've never seen a franchise have such a rush of injuries and poor personnel decisions on one side of the ball post Super Bowl than the Eagles. He had less weapons than Brady's final year in Foxboro and a poorer offensive line.
  2. Reich worked with him for two years. I'm pretty sure he knows what he's getting. The Eagles front office was a circling firing squad that couldn't shoot straight.
  3. I like Molden in this spot to compete with Johnson who's in the last year of his contract. I think he's an upgrade at slot corner. We could pry easily get Shelvin in round 3. I prefer not to reach.
  4. First. You'd have to pay whatever the vig is for each bet slightly minimizing your profits. You're also betting individual teams and not overall wins. You could easily have 17 teams go over because you have a few teams only have one to three wins boosting everyone else's win totals. For example, last year half of the AFC teams had double digit wins because the Jets, Jaguars, Texans, and Bengals didn't win more than four.
  5. It's pry the right call as this is pry the most high profile police case since Rodney King. If there's anything close to what happened in LA then transportation to and from school would put kids in unnecessary danger. Besides the buses you also have high school students that take public transit system. A lot of schools will also be surrounded by the National Guard making it even more of a headache for bus drivers and parents picking their kids up as there would be a lot of detours. It's to keep the students, parents, and teachers safe. No different than snow days around here.
  6. I don't think people appreciate how bad the Lions are going to be this year. I'm talking 0-17 bad. There'd the only team I'd bet on.
  7. I said systemic and the higher rate of black violent crime absolutely has to do with it.
  8. My guess (since it has no chance of passing) is it's a power play to pressure the SC justices to rule in a more liberal fashion than they otherwise may have because of that threat. That includes things on maybe punting on issues like abortion, gun control, the ACA, etc...
  9. It's frustrating when you have one side saying that cops are inherently racist and want to kill black people and the counter to that is something like 99% of police officers are great public servants just doing their job the best they can. You're not anti cop if you point out there are some serious systemic problems in US police departments in many major cities. You're also not racist if you don't buy the BLM narrative that cops are looking to kill black people. I don't even like to get into these debates because people feel they have to choose a side.
  10. Completely agree. I was just pointing out the uselessness of that graph. The counter to black people being 3x as likely to be killed by the police are black people commit more crimes leading to more police encounters. They've had multiple studies over the years that showed no statistical difference between the likelihood of being shot and killed by a cop based on race during an interaction. They have found cops are more likely to use excessive force with black people compared to white people though. I wish the BLM movement would focus more on the latter and ask why that is.
  11. So based off population percentage you’re about three times as likely to be shot to death by cops if you’re black instead of white. At least according to this graph.
  12. Garland and McConnell not even holding a hearing or vote on him which was unprecedented.
  13. I understand them feeling screwed over and unlucky. Packing it isn't the answer though and they don't have the votes anyways. The focus should really should be pressuring Breyer to retire.
  14. It's pretty obvious to me but maybe I'm showing my age....
  15. I was referring to Welker. Edelman doesn't deserve to work the snack bar at the HOF.
  16. You're pry right. His argument would be that he redefined the modern slot position. It's a similar debate with Tasker. Does excelling in a niche role qualify you for the HOF?
  17. I get the thinking with drafting an explosive RB stud at 30 as long as you're convinced he'll be a significant upgrade. You can then milk that player for all he's worth for five years with an average annual salary that makes him a bargain. You have to then be willing to release him no matter what though. I don't think Beane will do it but I wouldn't hate it if he did.
  18. He can play both. He played better in the slot last year though.
  19. If they go by previous incidents, the cop is probably looking at involuntary manslaughter charges at minimum. Here's one comparable one. WHAT ARE SOME OTHER CASES? In one of most well-known cases, a transit officer responding to a fight at a train station in Oakland, California, killed 22-year-old Oscar Grant in 2009. The officer, Johannes Mehserle, testified at trial that, fearing Grant had a weapon, he reached for his stun gun but mistakenly pulled his .40-caliber handgun instead. Grant was shot as he lay face down. Mehserle was convicted of involuntary manslaughter and sentenced to two years in prison. His department paid $2.8 million to Grant’s daughter and her mother.
  20. I assume you're not defending the cops negligence but it somewhat reads that way. I guess you're just pointing out that there wasn't a racial element to it but they protested/looted anyways. We need more funding for training as it's pretty screwed up that a cop can't distinguish between a taser and a gun in the heat of a confrontation.
  21. No. Jeremy Maclin has more WR yards. Wes Welker is a more interesting debate.
