That's why I was so confident that we had the game won because I didn't think we were dealing with Wade Phillips here. I even thought kicking the extra point was risky because if they blocked it and returned if for two the game they'd tie the game. The disconnect between what we know about McDermott and what happened at the end of the game will forever stand out to me. The special teams miscommunication was weird and maybe Bass forgot his hearing aids (I kid). Then McDermott and Frazier played scared not wanting to be beat over the top. The Chiefs meanwhile had to have perfect execution and they did. Unless we win a Super Bowl, the 13 seconds will haunt McDermott and Bills fans the rest of our lives.

Does Bienemy want to prove he can do it without Reid (Pettine style)?

Ken Dorsey - would he choose OC here or leave to be Daboll's OC?
Doc Brown replied to Heavy Kevi's topic in The Stadium Wall
If getting a head coaching gig is in Dorsey’s mind it’s a really tough call. Stick here and anything below what Daboll accomplished is a failure. However, you have the QB. Follow Daboll and you can vastly improve that offense as they have some good pieces in place. However, qb is uncertain and you may just be looked at as a product of Daboll. Good luck to him. -

Why not make Daboll the head coach then if we're talking crazy like you are? -
Qb position who are going to be in the room
Doc Brown replied to Greatdane21's topic in The Stadium Wall
Right, but if he's out a month we'd expect the backup to go at least 2-2 to keep us afloat. Teddy Bridgewater is someone to keep an eye on if Denver drafts someone or trades for Rodgers/Watson. -
Where did the intelligent liberals go?
Doc Brown replied to Over 29 years of fanhood's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
That's like asking why there aren't any intelligent Patriots fans on a Bills message board. Outnumbered and not worth the time. -
I thought we made a mistake drafting him but I doubt half this board wanted him gone after year 2.

Jeff Fisher Takes Michigan Panthers HC Job (USFL)

Not sure how many games they play but they’ll go 7-9. -
Daboll and Frazier....have they run their course here?!?
Doc Brown replied to Sweats's topic in The Stadium Wall
When you go from jubilation to intense heartbreak you want to find a scapegoat. Ask Scott Norwood or Bruce DeHaven. -
I hope we get them later in the year given it’s a real possibility Tre White misses first few games. Correct.

McDermott end of season press conference
Doc Brown replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall
The only answer I was interested in was why they didn't squib kick it or kick it short of the goal line. You bleed four to six seconds off the clock they'll only have one offensive play and they pry try some weird hook and lateral or something. If they fair catch it at the five then they have a long way to go in 13 seconds. Just reading between the tea leaves of McDermott's comments and what I saw on the All 22 is Bass was supposed to do a squib kick and he didn't. The coverage team was expecting it as there seemed to be some confusion as they walked off the field. Somewhere there was a communication breakdown and that's all on McDermott. Maybe Bass misheard "squib kick it" and heard "kick the ***** out of it." -
How many days until the season opener?

We have Josh Allen and the rest of the AFC East doesn't. Mahomes will have to deal with Herbert at least twice a year. Burrow and Jackson will try and take each other out every year. The AFC South is a joke without an elite quarterback. We may not be the best team every year but because we play in the AFC East we'll be best positioned to get the #1 seed over the next five years assuming Beane and McDermott do their job. This loss was BRUTAL but our future is bright.

I'd rather have Nick Wright kick me in the nuts. Less painful.

SB Nation article - Josh a mega star
Doc Brown replied to Royale with Cheese's topic in The Stadium Wall
I think it will be a picture of Madden as it should be. Is this true or did you just watch Good Will Hunting? -
Can you imagine Pegula explaining this to McDermott. "Sean, we appreciate you ending the drought, winning two AFC East championship games, three playoff games, and three double digit winning seasons in your five years here........but we're going to hire a guy you just beat 31-6."

Sullivan: Bills' McDermott choked away Super Bowl-caliber season
Doc Brown replied to QCity's topic in The Stadium Wall
Good and fair article. I just wish McDermott would've allowed Sullivan to give our defense a pre game pep talk before the Chiefs game.- 330 replies

I think he's better than Mahomes and I'm very optimistic about our long term outlook. We should be fine as long as McBeane stay in place and Allen stays healthy. There were no equal team in the early 90's though in the AFC. Not to mention there wasn't a salary cap then, two less teams in the conference, and the NFL schedule wasn't constructed in a way that strives for parity. People expecting four straight Super Bowl because they make some connection to the '88 and '89 Bills are delusional.
-
The late 80's and early 90's Bills team didn't have a 2020's Chiefs team to deal with every year. I'm sick of the comparisons.

Josh Allen is a future HOFer. There I said it...
Doc Brown replied to Big Turk's topic in The Stadium Wall
Injuries will be the only thing that prevents it. I suggest running less and keep investing in the o-line. Barring that, he certainly can get in on stats (Marino, Fouts, Kelly, Tarkenton, Moon, Jurgenson?) or hopefully at least one Super Bowl victory in his career to go along with them. -
After watching the Sabres I'd be terrified of who the Pegula's would hire. I'm shocked at how bad McDermott was in those last 13 seconds last night. We've had way too much success over the last five seasons considering where we were when he got here to fire him over those 13 seconds of absolute mindbogglingly bad coaching. I'd love an explanation of what he was thinking though.

Fix the OT Rule for Playoff Games--That was Stupid
Doc Brown replied to Nextmanup's topic in The Stadium Wall
I've felt this way since the Pats beat the Chiefs in OT four years ago. I'm fine with the OT rule during the regular season but have them play a quarter in the postseason. If it's still tied then do first score wins. We were up three with 13 seconds though so I'm not really that concerned about it. -
Keep Frazier. Everybody has a bad day. His experience is invaluable.

I appreciate the glass half full take but it shouldn’t have come down to a coin toss. Any defense with a damn doesn’t allow 56 yards in 13 seconds no matter how good the opposing offense is.
