Week 1: Bills at Rams on TNF in NFL Kickoff Game
Doc Brown replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall
Rams are wearing their modern white throwbacks. Bills will be in blue jerseys (not sure of pants color) unless they want to get the abhorrent all red unis over with right away. -
NFL Covid policy....does anyone know what it is?
Doc Brown replied to Beast's topic in The Stadium Wall
Mine too. I take a daily test hoping it comes out positive. My brother was on a ventilator when he caught it in January but survived so our whole family tests daily mostly for his sake. -
Rams defense last year under Morris largely resembled the one the Bills played in 2020 under Staley. Heavy zone with a cover 2 shell. They played zone coverage the 2nd most in the NFL last year (68%) and man coverage the least (14%). Theoretically, Crowder will be an important piece of our game plan

We're talking about professionals here. They know what they're doing.

He sounded like Trump tonight. He promised to be the opposite. Finally convinced me. We need four parties in this country.

Bills have 5th oldest roster in the NFL

I read it as 28th youngest. -
The worry wart in me sees how drastically bad the Von Miller contract could be if he falls off a cliff this year. Otherwise, great news.

It took a punt god to get rid of Haack. -
I would be shocked if Hodgins or Blacksheare get claimed. They’re jag’s to everyone but Bills fans.

Tre White to PUP list, out first 4 games
Doc Brown replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall
I'm a little concerned given how many they kept in the secondary. Their may have been a setback as he was visible doing rehab to the beat reporters to start camp and then you didn't hear much since. On the other hand, they may want to make sure that he's 100% ready to go when he does come back given the investment they have in him. -

Let's leave Dolphins fans out of this. I don't know one Bills fans that is calling for Beane to be fired. -
Which player on the roster baffles you that they are on this team?
Doc Brown replied to Wizard's topic in The Stadium Wall
I think Shakir made the WR decision (and maybe the Blackshear decision - punt returner) pretty easy as he was able to be effective outside in the preseason and secure his spot as the punt returner. Hodgins had to prove he could be an effective gunner to overtake Kumerow. He didn't. They made the right call and hopefully can put him on the practice squad and activate him if Diggs or Davis gets hurt. Blackshear was still the #4 RB despite flashing in preseason so there wasn't a spot for him. Maybe develop him on the practice squad as his blocking needs to improve. He'll have the inside track to split carries with Moss or Singletary next year if one of them gets released. If some team snatches him. Oh well. Sweeney is the correct answer here. I thought Howard and Morris were the better blockers and pass catchers. He provides no special teams value. It's not good when the main argument is he's well liked in the locker room. So are orange slices at halftime (do they still do that?) but I'm not giving them a roster spot. -
The same reason the Pats keep Matthew Slater. Special teams aces. You saw our coverage against the Broncos without Jones, Neal, Matakavech, and Kumerow. It was pitiful.

McDermott/Beane press conference 8/27: Matt Araiza released
Doc Brown replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall
I don't understand sarcasm but I do wonder what steps they're taking internally to beef up their vetting process. They're lucky it happened with a rookie 6th round punter. -
McDermott/Beane press conference 8/27: Matt Araiza released
Doc Brown replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall
I wonder in general how many calls teams get each year from lawyers warning them of potential accusations against players. How common is it? How seriously do they take it knowing they have employees making millions of dollars? Should the Bills beef up their legal staff so something like this doesn't happen in the future? One other question I have is how thorough was Beane/McDermott in asking Araiza about the lawyer's phone call? Did they ask him why he didn't bring it up in the pre draft interview as I assume it's part of the vetting process before they draft a guy? They have to alter their procedures to make sure something like this doesn't happen again. -

That's the benefit of being "Jane Doe." Ashley Solsis reported death threats against her after her Watson accusations. Can you please explain Antonio Brown for me? -

He'd be a huge upgrade from Bojo and Haack. I'd offer a late round pick for him or Howard if they're desperate at TE. -

Think they'll notice if we sign Araiza to the practice squad? -
https://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2013/05/05/inside-the-top-100-voting-process/ “All players are given the opportunity to vote through ballots we send to all 32 teams around Thanksgiving,” NFL Network spokesman Alex Riethmiller told PFT via email. “For convenience sake, we try to time it with Pro Bowl balloting, so they can do them together. In addition to ballots collected that way, we also give ballots to many of the players that we interview for our shows. This year, in total, we received 481 votes.”

He had a better 2020 regular season and the votes are conducted before the playoffs.
