  1. I doubt it as we've played 24 straight games without losing by more than double digits. We're 5-0 when trailing with six minutes left in the first quarter this year. The main reason in those games is it usually takes our defense a couple of drives to make the necessary adjustments. Although the Bengals passing weapons would've made it more difficult than any other opponent we've played this season. Josh Allen throughout his career has played his best in Prime Time. Our running game on that first drive was pretty effective. The Bengals offense is similar to the Bills where they can go from really hot to cold pretty quickly. The game was still up in the air at that point imo and would've been a 27-24 type of game.
  2. The NFL made sure every week 18 game was important to nearly all the AFC teams who already clinched a playoff spot (Bills, Chiefs, Bengals, Ravens). Even the Chargers will pry want to win to secure a fist round game against the AFC South winner.
  3. All it is is the Eagles losing to the Andy Dalton led Saints. Pushed everyone else near the top up. Same with NFL.com and ESPN power rankings.
  4. I guess my most major gripe if I was a Bengals fan would be being denied the chance to control their own destiny of being the two seed by beating us. Thus, not getting a divisional home playoff game if we both win our WC games and having to travel to Orchard Park. The one thing the NFL could've done differently is maybe making a possible AFC Divisional game against us and the Bengals a neutral site if we both win on Sunday. We'd be pushing for the same thing if we were in their shoes.
  5. Those posts were wrong. Bengals own the tie breaker with strength of victory. They're currently at .483 and we're at .479. There's no way for the Bills to top the Bengals in this category in week 18.
  6. I'd be most upset if I was a Bengals fan. They had the ability to win the division and the number two seed in their hands before the MNF game. Now they might not even get to host a playoff game if they lose against the Ravens and lose a coin flip despite technically winning the division. They also lost the ability to host the Bills in the divisional round if the Bills beat the Pats.
  7. That's overall win percentage if I'm reading it correctly. The last thing NFL owners want is to vote against a new rule proposal that would be viewed as unfair to a team whose player almost died on the field. Not great optics.
  8. I guess they should just put up a vote for AFC winning percentage to determine the seeding then.
  9. We won by four. Relax. LOL. We can still host them if they by some miracle lose to the Raiders this Saturday. Go Stidham.
  10. I don’t see how they could’ve made it any fairer. There wasn’t a perfect solution. Rumors are Indy.
  11. On the bright side. An indoor Allen vs Mahomes battle would be so fun to watch.
  12. Probably but the Chiefs gaining significantly on the Bills (and possibly Bengals) misfortune seems wrong. Especially since they lost to both. I don't see the downside of an eight team playoffs just this one year in the AFC just to avoid giving the Chiefs a bye week. Three games on Saturday. Three on Sunday. One on Monday. Sign me up. I'm sure the NFL and the tv networks won't mind.
  13. Even reading it slowly another team could knock off the Chiefs in the divisional round in which case we'd still host the AFC Championship game if we make it that far. So in my mind there's not much difference between the 2 and the 3 seed. The home field advantage would be minimal in the divisional round between us and the Bengals IMO.
  14. Home field really isn't what I'm thinking. It's more about only having to play one less game to reach the AFC Championship game (most likely the Chargers in the divisional round) and not having to face both the Chiefs and Bengals to get to the Super Bowl. Let them duke it out in the Divisional round.
  15. Well aware of that. Having the one seed would make that much more likely though. Obviously.
  16. Doubt it. The NFL's official website already has the scenario laid out as if they'd go by traditional win % meaning we have no shot at the one seed if KC wins on Saturday. They basically ripped the Bills controlling their own destiny for the one seed from their hands if they go by winning %. Unless they resume the Bills/Bengals game the following week there will definitely be a giant asterisk next to the AFC Champion this year.
  17. We're not playing the Chiefs in the divisional round if we get the 2 or 3 seed.
  18. The 4th seeded Bengals rested their starters in week 18 last year despite having a shot at the 3 seed.
  19. Would you rather rest your starters against the Pats and likely play Baltimore as the #3 seed.......or win and likely play Miami?
  20. I'm sure Eagles fans would love that. At this point there's a small part of me that wants us to play our backups or forfeit against the Pats just to tick off the Fins and their fans for their stadium design.
  21. Will never happen. The closest third party challenger was Teddy Roosevelt who handed the presidency to Wilson by splitting the vote. That's exactly what would happen again.
