  1. It's not going to be exactly the same because history doesn't repeat itself but if often rhymes. Point is they're solid head coaches with an elite QB who work for a steady and competent GM with an owner that doesn't meddle. They've punched a lot of lottery tickets (playoffs) over their careers.
  2. Those sandwiches aren't going to make themselves. I kid but Desantis has nothing to do with this.
  3. Boring list. How about most entertaining quarterbacks at their peak to ever watch list... 1.) Josh Allen 2.) Michael Vick 3.) Brett Favre 4.) Patrick Mahomes 5.) Cam Newton
  4. My gut instinct is McDermott/Beane will follow the career paths of Tomlin/Colbert, Harbaugh/Newsome, and Carroll/Schneider. They'll have their team in the playoffs nearly every season and eventually they'll cash in at least one of those lottery tickets.
  5. I'll bet you a thousand dollars and give you 100 to 1 odds that won't happen,
  6. It's 50/50 to me to be honest with you. I just come to this. I think I'm willing to give McDermott the benefit of the doubt on who he wants to be his defensive coordinator because he knows that his job is largely depends on how this defense performs.
  7. Brady - more accurate, better pre snap and post snap when it comes to reading defenses, faster processor, less mistake prone. Allen - more mobile, stronger arm, better off script, stresses a defense more with his legs Intangible wise they're similar. Hard worker, ultra competitive, excellent leadership qualities. Teammates will go to war for them.
  8. It's all on McDermott when it comes to defense. It's his specialty. He could've taken over play calling at any time during the Bengals game. Firing Frazier would have been a save your own butt type move. I'm in the minority when I say I'm glad he didn't.
  9. Give me Ben Roethlisberger's career with Pittsburgh (two SB's, three appearances) over 18 seasons. Only missed the playoffs six times.
  10. I don't see Mixon fitting into the culture here if the Bengals cut him even though he's pry an upgrade.
  11. Mitch Trubisky if he becomes available and we can get him at a similar price. Matt Canada is a horrible offensive coordinator.
  12. It's either the Raiders or Cowboys. Hopefully the Raiders.
  13. I guess if you want to compare eras this is probably correct given how there wasn't a consistently elite team besides us in the AFC at the time throughout that four year stretch. Miami was always cute though. We'll call the Giants game our 13 seconds and the Redskins/Cowboys the Chiefs/Bengals. There's plenty of differences obviously but the most glaring one is Allen is 26 while Kelly was 33 (two weeks away from 34) when we lost the last Super Bowl.
  14. The problem with that is if the salary cap goes down (unlikely I know) the QB gets paid less. I'd be more in favor of shortening the contract of draft picks to three years regardless of round. I'd also get rid of the 5th year (in my scenario 4th year) option. Make the teams use a franchise tag on the QB if they want to keep them past those three years. It shortens the "rookie window period" when you hit on an elite QB.
  15. It's an interesting thought as coming out of college I thought the Bills would play him at guard. It's a bit of a projection as he'd be making elite guard money. Maybe he can become elite at that position and better suited long term there. Getting an equivalent or better left tackle would be the challenge though.
  16. Not that much different than previous seasons. I rely more on pff when it comes to line play because I suck at evaluating it. I don't really understand why people are down on Dawkins when he was our best o-lineman. Pass blocking was in the very good range and run blocking was in the average range. Those aren't pro bowl numbers but they're still slightly above average which is what he is at left tackle.
  17. LOL. You thought differently before this game? Do you even know how much a touchdown is worth?
  18. I have no sympathy whatsoever. I hope their post game chili gives them food poisoning.
