  1. It was a sarcastic joke. Direct TV is slowly going into extinction. Losing Sunday Ticket only accelerates the process.
  2. Look. Once this "streaming" fad ends you'll be sorry. Also, technically the 2023 NFL season doesn't begin until March 15th so nobody was lying.
  3. How do you know that? I personally would jump at season tickets even if they were double what they were now if I knew I was getting the same comfortable indoor weather every game. I'm not paying for seasons with the possibility of being cold and miserable when I can be just miserable watching from home.
  4. You never know what will happen with the seemingly increased number of weather events around here lately. Eventually players and fans will respond with their mouths and/or pocket books. There's conversations about adding a roof to the Jags stadium due to complaints about the heat. With enough of a public outcry to spend the money to put a roof on it some politician may pounce. Just curious because they put a roof a few of the tennis courts at the US Open. It was 180m to put a retractable roof on Arthur Ashe stadium. Maybe more Seneca casino revenue to be collected to pay for it.
  5. For the engineers out there, when they realize in 15 years they made a massive mistake not putting a roof on.... how hard would it be to just add a functioning roof to the stadium? Was there any thought to that option in the design?
  6. You base your feelings on some guy's opinion? Why, what he'd say?
  7. No. He was third behind Diggs and Davis. He was under drafted as he pry should've gone in the third round so I do have hopes he can develop into an effective slot receiver. Development is the key though It's still imperative to me we draft a WR that has the potential to be a #1 in either of the first two rounds. You look at some of the best WR combos in the league and it's for the most part an established highly paid #1 and a recent first round draft pick on his rookie deal (Brown/Smith, Hill/Waddle, Samuel/Aiyuk, Jefferson/Thielen). Lockett and Metcalf both signed deals that kept their cap hit last year low and Chase/Higgens are both on rookie contracts. Going all the way back to Moulds and Price. We had to move on from Price because he was looking for #1 WR money and found it with the Falcons.
  8. KeyBank would pry be the blueprint. I got a kick out of this tweet.
  9. The free market (under a socialist salary cap system ironically) will sort this out and you don't need to separate QB contracts from the cap. The more these QB contracts blow up in teams faces the less likely some franchises will be to shell out Kyler Murray type money.
  10. There may be a certain stubbornness to Lamar also with wanting to prove that he negotiated this record fully guaranteed deal without needing an agent. If he gets it from the Ravens or some other team. Good for him. However, I already think it was incredibly stupid to even set foot on the field last season without the security of a long term deal that will set you and your family up for generations.
  11. Players made some comments that they don't like them (bulky, feel top heavy) as they look ridiculous. They have to make the look and feel more palatable first.
  12. There are no valid comps which is why firing him now would be absurd. The closest I could come up with is Marty Schottenheimer. Defensive minded head coach with elite weapons on the offense (Tomlinson, Gates, Brees/Rivers) that went 14-2 only to be fired after losing in the divisional round. Granted, he never won a playoff game with them despite three straight playoff appearances. The same can't be said about McDermott.
  13. Agreed. McDermott would need a down year. Dungy got fired from TB after going 9-7 and being embarrassed by Philly in the WC round. It would have to be something similar to that (or worse) barring an injury to Allen for Pegula to even consider it. Yes and no. You'd have a lot of tools at your disposal for immediate success. However, if you fail you could be a one and done. See Steve Wilks and Nate Hackett.
  14. I just find it annoying. Stick with your first jersey number as fans pay a lot for rookie jerseys. Plus, I get confused. There were a few times this year that I got pissed at Jerry Hughes for showing no pass rush ability like I’ve become accustomed to. Then I realized it was Boogie Basham and it all made sense.
  15. Vikings traded up for Dalvin Cook. Saints traded up for Alvin Kamara. Jets traded up for Bryce Hall. Do it in the 2nd round I guess.
  16. You've got to be willing to trade up and down. Philly traded up two spots to land Devontae Smith because they knew he was the last of the three WR's in the top tier. They pry don't regret it. Meanwhile, we traded down twice to select Cook acquiring two extra sixth round picks. One happened to be used on Christian Benford.
  17. I'll do tiers: Vital re-sign: Edmunds Would love to have but likely too expensive: Poyer, Martin For the right price: Lawson, Klein, Boettger, Marlowe Like the player/person but can likely upgrade for cheaper: Singletary, Keenum Would only be interested if they weren't always injured: Phillips, Crowder Don't even think about it Beane: Saffold, Quessenberry, Van Roten, Sweeney, Dodson, Lewis, Murray, Hart, Jackson, Kumerow, Matakevich, T. Jones, J. Johnson
  18. Plus there was all this talk of the offenses switching to a more run heavy approach last year which never really materialized like I thought it would. Maybe they underestimated Taron Johnson.
  19. You take him in the fifth round (where he should’ve gone) or lower if you’re thinking backup/special teams guy on a cost controlled rookie deal. They pry thought he could eventually replace Milano after 2023 and would be the primary extra lb in the few times they go away from their base defense in the meantime. Whiff of an evaluation and maybe a little bit of hubris went into that pick. Who knows though. Maybe he’ll shock us and take a gigantic leap over the next couple years.
  20. If Beane took the SAT's during the 2nd round of the NFL draft that's pry the score he'd get.
  21. Or Beane may have tried to lock him up last off-season but Edmunds wanted to bet on himself. I wouldn't be surprised if Beane gave into Edmunds demands (around 18 million a season) as I still think we as fans have a lower opinion of him than McBeane.
  22. Nah. Why kill the suspense as we anxiously wait for the commercials to be over? It's the same reason why they still use the chains to measure for a first down.
