Halfway mark record predict 2nd half season record?
ILBillsfan replied to ProcessTruster's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
yeah Oakland is the dark horse as you state I did add this when I went thru Oakland, Indy and Pitts schedule. Tennessee is out of the convo with the 5th loss. I think Dallas or Pitt will be the games in that set of 4 that will really determine it. I feel good about beating Miami they got lucky that Indy played really really bad at home and Miami stole that victory. Denver on the other hand I'm glad we get at home vs out in mile high so it has me leaning to a win here as well. That has at 8-3 going into Dallas on a short week which helps some as Thursday game seem to hurt the offenses a bit more vs defenses (lots of unders on the totals in games on Thursday nights backs this up as well) And they have bad DVOA's Deff/Offensively like the Bills. Ravens/Pats I have as losses Pittsburgh will be interesting, that Rams game was the Rams beating themselves without a couple of key players on the line Pittsburgh really did nothing offensively minus Conner and well if the run d is still leaky and in Pitt will make that a very hard match up Jets at end of year would love to be in the spoiler role and remember the sting of losing a game they should of won to start the year Any way it goes i had the Bills at 9-7 preseason should finish at 9-7 or 10-6 ...its had to come up with three losses on Pitts schedule so I can see where you have the steelers 10-6 with the Bills and if they win that head to head would bump us. -
Halfway mark record predict 2nd half season record?

So that would put the Bills and Pitts burg ties so Pitt becomes the 5 seed and the Bills the 6 Bills hold tiebreaker over Tenn and have the Raiders/Indy to contend with. Indy conference record at the moment si 4-4 Bills adv with 4-2 Conference record Oakland it at 3-2 light Bills margin in the conference record. But you have the Bills out of the Playoff hrmmmm math is not adding up I think Oakland may be a dark horse as their schedule is getting easier Colts have a rough last half I do agree I think Bills need to be 10-6 to get in. 9-7 and nope not going. -
A true number one WR would be nice that can win 50/50 balls and break man coverage and this offense explodes imo

? Greatest Teams #35 1990 Buffalo Bills
ILBillsfan replied to Chandler#81's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The amount of stars on that team is crazy good. I still remember the discussion about Thurman Thomas possibly winning the superbowl MVP he was that dominate. -
you don't get followers just stating the obvious have to put out takes that get people talking.
-
Absolutely agree. You do keep trying because I 'm confident he will hit some of these eventually. I still remember Losman hitting those three bombs to Evans vs the Texans

I'm guessing this is your analysis because that is not what I her when listening to people who understand the game way more than me. Unless I'm missing information about your credentials than just a fan

I seem to recall a pass in the Browns game to ODB where he had Tre beat for a big gain on a deep ball and oh it went incomplete It does happen a lot but it's the focal point on this board for some reason

Really the bills are 6-3 where did you have them. What expectations had you set before the year at the midpoint. He is more accurate especially on the intermediate throws is learning to move defensive players maybe go check out some film room analyst of Allen or you can basically spew garbage with nothing but I say so explore the internet you can find non biased analyst that would say he is improving and if your old school as you suggest Rome wasn’t built ina day I don’t see anything that says his progression has flattened it trended down. Has it skyrocketed up nope but Instill feel this team needs a stud WR that can win man on man. Currently we have zone busters would also like to see a stud offense lineman added as well as we are allowing a lot of pressure still

Wins and Point Diff Around the League
ILBillsfan replied to Hapless Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I also like DVOA’s on teams offense/defense to get a good picture of the team -
If your a Bills fan you invest and give to develop on the rookie deal like every other team in the NFL does unless you have a seriously bad egg like Russell Allen has improved and you give him continued pieces and next year. Pretty simple for this warm chair GM’s that don’t get this I’d ask for some facts to show where a NFL team varied from this

This is really a discussion for this time next year. As I see right now I think he has shown improvement and still needs a bit more work but nothing is showing me the trajectory is fizzling flat or sliding down

How to beat Cover 0 - New England
ILBillsfan replied to Protocal69's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Was mentioned in the presser by Daboll, Josh made correct read and described the Wr then does a go route or back shoulder based on the single corners play. The CB play set up back shoulder as the executed vs Jets and in other times they just missed on this one Brown said he messed up. As for the it Beasley was wide open the read is to the one on one match w/Brown its not a deep throw it’s an untermediate route that Josh and Smoke had success w before that one. -
Why would you dump all the money at Dalton and not continue to develop Allen and invest the money in a number one WR a stud OL If you are not seeing development then your jaded and irs pretty clear your expectations are out of line w reality for Allen. The team Is farther along and Allen is right about where I thought he would be. Let me guess you thought super bowl for the bills and Allen to be the MVP

ROCKPILE REIVEW - The Bills Don't Have Quite Enough

Looks like Kroft is becoming expendable and free up $$$ for next year -
100% problem with the Deep Ball this year.
ILBillsfan replied to Allen2Moulds's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
your a bit jaded by just watching highlight reels how about you have the stats. just like obviously people thought Josh was the hitting the long ball last year and the stats say otherwise. So quick to judge by a video vs actually looking at stats -

Looks like you should look at your own data he was beating them on first down -

Will have to dig it up but the stat on hitting on those passes is pretty bad -

Agree but speaking of Kroft where was he yesterday. All this money for A TE that is invisible. I haven't looked yet but wondering if Knox is getting more reps than Kroft -

On the note of WR's I have stated a few time made a few threads Williams should be active every week to give the Bilsl that big body man v man target for Josh on some of these short yardage situations not to mention his run blocking. i seen the Bill try to use Roberts in this role and he just is not a very good WR, great return man WR not so much. The deep ball is not a reliable option for the most part and the Bills are selecting Foster. yeah he had a mid range catch but that was about it. Some say he is ther for ST well i think offense options vs St options is more important. McKenzie is the other WR in this Bermuda triangle of inactive/active WRS each week. Still scratching my head why you attack the Browns number 4 pass defense and ignore attacking the Browns number 30 run defense. -
Rational Thoughts after the Browns
ILBillsfan replied to corta765's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Nice to hear clam rational thoughts vs the other side of the coin. The game plan was maddening I expected a lot of Singletary/Gore in this game with the Browns so gad vs the run instead the pass happy offense which I think plays into the Browns stronger suit -

If my counting is correct the Bills vs the Browns passed 18 of 24 times on first down. Would really like to see them commit to the run
