So that makes 4 for 4. 1st it was Darnold, then Rosen, then Allen, and now Mayfield.
Crazy thing is they are all so different. Darnold the mobile raw pocket QB. Allen the physical freak that struggles mentally. Rosen the pure pocket passer. Mayfield the accurate small QB with special intangibles.
Except, consider the sources. All previous ties were reported by those without knowledge or affiliation to Beane and co. That’s not Jeremy White. I trust this more than anything else spewed Firth. This aligns to what Schefter shared when he was in town, that only those tied to this organization, could hope to know what’s really going on. 1 Bills is locked down. Just an opinion though.

Baker has been my #1 all along. His attitude problems aren't like Rosen's. His problem is he cares too much about winning and his emotions get the best of him. I'll take that any day over someone that might not even like playing. I think he fits our team and city better than anyone. I bet he would get along very well with McDermott. And we can get him without paying a huge ransom. What am I missing? His height? That's the only real knock I see on him.
His Analytics are generational. It surprised me. I still believe Rosen will be the elite prize for Buffalo, but based off of analytics (which the Bills subscribe heavily to), there’s no QB in this draft that’s on his level. The analytics have vastly improved from the wonderlic tests. They’re pretty insightful.

Few are more plugged in to Buffalo, than J-White. He’s usually very closely tied. He has some great, great sources. I believe there’s smoke here. I don’t think Baker is their top guy, but I do believe he’s an incredible #2 or fallback option.

Anyone have a guess on what type of 40 Jackson is expected to run? I mean if he runs like a 4.3 and throws the ball well, then what?
mid 4.3s, but he says he’s run in the 4.2s.

If Darnold and Rosen are gone what would the Jets do?
Allen or Mayfield, I guess. If you trade into 3, there has to be a tiered continuum of at least 3 people you like. Mayfield would definitely be tough to watch. He would give them a budding star.

Odd..the Daily News and SNY say they want Rosen. People are throwing darts now.
Speculation only: the fans want Rosen. The Giants want Darnold but do not want Rosen going to the Jets, due to his potential to be a 10 year reminder for fans, if he succeeds. My guess, the Browns have long loved Darnold and Allen and it will come down to the two. The Giants only want Darnold, though Rosen is identical to Manning and would be ideal. The Jets COVET Rosen, as do the Bills. Allen is a smokescreen.
im probably wrong though.

Unless Allen was tied with Darnold the entire time, as many have suspected. Oh Cleveland....

Could just be smokescreen, but here's the quote for what it's worth.
Not a smokescreen. Schefter alluded to this and said talks between Browns and Giants regarding Darnold have already taken place. The Browns taking Allen would be catastrophic to the Bills plans.

No team is going to pass on a QB that they like better because another GM says somebody else is better.
I think you’re grossly oversimplifying my point. If your thought is “no team that is all in on a guy, will be made to think otherwise by a GMs thoughts”, you are right. It’s never that simple. There’s an incredibly elaborate strategy in leaking information about a candidate that you really hope to see fall to you. It is very real and it absolutely has an effect on scouting departments and GM’s across the board. There’s an incredibly elaborate strategy in leaking information about a candidate that you really hope to see fall to you. It is very real and it absolutely has an effect on scouting departments, coaches (to a degree) and GM’s across the board. Case in point, Rosen’s injury concerns and the correlation to his parents having medical background. That same conversation was used by Arizona, at the combine, with other teams. The problem... Arizona is said to be smitten by Rosen. But, even if their leaked concerns are a smokescreen, what they’ve floated as their phantom concern has already gained media attention, while slowly gaining traction. Yet Rosen still sits high atop their board. Happens all the time.

If anyone has a chance to fix what is the fatal flaw in his game, it’s Palmer. He claims he’s done it, but that would border on miraculous. We’ll see!
Just now, thebandit27 said:You really think that some team is going to draft QB2 vs. QB3 because another team likes QB3 better?
Teams influence teams around them all of the time. It’s painfully common place. These things that “leak” at the oddest of times... yea, that’s done intentionally, in hopes players drop.

I don't think he is good Kirby. He is slow and small and I think he really is the product of the Saints offense. He is at best a 4/5 imo.
He did spend some time with the Panthers on their practice squad, so McBeane would be familiar.
I think his game speed is well-beyond his 4.6 Timed speed (He routinely gets behind defenses), but I don’t know how he fits on the Bills. Would much rather have Butler.

I’m sure it will be amazing, as historically similar QBs like Allen tend to put on incredible displays of their natural talent (well-removed from things like pressure and scheming). But it won’t ease any apprehension that I have towards him as an NFL QB. There’s just too many concerns on my end. I hope I’m wrong though, because I want him to be a great QB, but he checks almost ever red flag box I have.

Giants have traded JPP to the Bucs for a 3rd round pick. that might mean they are staying at 2 and grabbing Chubb or trading out and grabbing Davenport
Or or making room for Shaq Lawson, who fits their new D to a tee at a ridiculously affordable price.

Shaq Lawson was drafted to be a 3-4 Olb or 5 tech. Not saying this is happening, but keep it in mind. I don’t think it’s for Chubb. Not Gett’s style.
also signed for a few years, affordabily. Hmmm...

Why would the Browns trade back to the Giants if they want Darnold?
Hey fans, we didn’t get our highest rated QB, but we got an extra second!
The factory of sadness wins again!
Read this in Morgan Freeman’s voice...
”And as he sat there, rocking slowly back and forth in his chair, pondering the very question he had asked aloud, the very ponder had been answered, amidst the question he had asked. “The Browns”, he said aloud. And my, how a smile shined upon his face. Titty sprinkles.”

Kickoffs in the NFL Could Soon Be a Thing of the Past

This is a long-needed discussion that could potentially impact the college ranks. The amount of players coming into the league with visible CTE symptoms is growing at an alarming rate. No monitary reimbursement can account for life with CTE. It is a slow, painful and terrifying process. This is a need, in my opinion. Won’t be popular though.
