Best WR Trio in the AFC, or in the League?
DFT replied to whatdrought's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Noted and agreed. We weren’t limiting the conversation to slot though. And my personal opinion is Kirk>Beas 10 times out of 10. -
Absolutely would, but doubt it would happen. Could absolutely see NE though.

Admittedly, the Bills were the second team “floated” when I first heard it this am, behind TB. But I think 90% of this and the cooler talk about the Bills are just conjecture. At least I hope that’s the case.

Beasley equal to Kirk is where you lost me. Kirk is really special, despite the numbers. I thought this was based off “potential “, but I see the stat comparison you’re making and agree totally with it. If I’m picking for this year though, I’m picking AZ with no hesitation. That’s my top group. But as my wife reminds me many times a day, I’m more wrong than right!! -

AZ, I’d say. We’re top 10 though (maybe top 5). -
Would anyone look at maybe calling the Jaguars about Fournette?
DFT replied to Buffalo03's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Disagree (respectfully). Brady’s game at this stage is predicated on having a blocking/receiving option at RB. And to be fair, it was a laughable notion when the Jags first leaked their interest in trading Foles, because of his contract. My only point is... Never say never. The NFL has proven the mighty weight of the phrase “hold my beer”. -

Not really much of a rumor, but TB is being floated as one of a few teams sniffing around Todd G. Makes sense given his blocking and receiving ability. -

Too rich for my blood, but that’s why I’m on message boards and not running the team (thankfully for the Bills!!!). I know there’s some smoke about about Bills and Bucs being potentially interested in Gurley, which I hope is just fluff on the Bills part. I don’t think he’s done by any means, but his contract is just awful. -

Exactly. They reworked contracts to help this year and next, so they can still land a big name if they wanted to and work the contract specifically to fit future cap. It may be lean this year, but everything opens next year, beautifully. Beane has done a tremendous job thus far. -

Interesting, because he’s probably not going to be the guy there. I just don’t know if it’s worth adding him for what the Jags would want in return (can’t see less than a 3rd). There’s the “process guy”, question as well and his checkered history in Buffalo. I think there is a better chance that the Bills draft their bigger back, then trade. There’s a few FA’s out there still, too. 2nd round BPA could have quite a few RB options (though I think they’ll go secondary or WR still). -
Great post! If we do keep him, it’s because coach knows what he’ll do with the additions to the line. I hope we do, because we’ve upgraded considerably on the line, and at worst, stayed even at LB. it’s not the sexy option, but he definitely came on late and looked like the version the Bills thought they would get.

Higgins pro day turned Bills off and led us to Diggs trade
DFT replied to Reed83HOF's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
No. No he’s not. And learning curves have never been tested to the degree they could be this year. This year’s class faces more uncertainty than ever. Again, the decision to trade for Diggs instead of invest in a 1st round WR absolutely in some part involved what’s happening in all of professional sports. You’re welcome to your opinion of course. -

The decision to trade for Diggs is exactly that. And to be clear, “abbreviated camps” is a bit of an oversimplification given this is very new territory for sports as a whole. It was better to trade for a young, proven player than swing for a rookie, with a potential uncertain learning curve. The Bills are in “win now” mode. It makes perfect sense, with respect. -

Well, I believe VERY differently and not really gonna divulge why or debate this one (respectfully). I believe the move has much more to do with player-readiness in the wake of the season’s delays and it’s impact on the rookie receivers. Just my opinion. I’m sure we’ll learn more as we move forward. -

I think he trades their 1st for AJ and Dalton. That’ll learn Tommy terrific! -
Let’s get weird! Wow, he definitely got paid.

I think NE would have been his first choice, honestly.
