  1. Beane and McDermott just have a much clearer blueprint of the type of players they want on this team. Whereas Doug Whaley's philosophy was, "I'll just draft from Clemson, 'Bama, and Ohio State and because those programs win so much, these picks will come in here and permeate the locker room with that winning attitude!" It seems McBeane does a lot more homework on prospects, and they're paying more attention to smaller schools as well. I think it's a testament to the job Beane has done in putting together his scouting staff/player personnel departments.
  2. That was my thought, too. I was like, "How the heck did this dude start for four straight years in Cincy?" I assume they had somewhat of a different blocking scheme or perhaps the guards on either side of him made him look alright.
  3. He's got that old school TE thing going for him. I can't remember who it was but it was one of the more prominent draft nerds, he said if this was the 70s, Sweeney would've been a second round pick.
  4. That part right there, IMO, has definitely become a habit of more than just recent graduates. I see all sorts of errors in articles written by veteran journalists. Either that or they become super repetitive and use the same phrases and terms over and over.
  5. Probably, but I still think he might land on the PS, because they really seem to like him. Considered drafting him several times, made a big push to reel him in as a UDFA. I think they see something there and may wanna develop him. But he's definitely gonna need to have some flashes or, as you said, he gone.
  6. Thought for sure Bills were gonna win SBXXV because, "they beat 'em in the regular season!" Ah, poor 8 year old me.
  7. That's a good point on the Dancing with the Stars thing. Probably fed into his ego. I get it, he can be arrogant because he can back it up but he's made it pretty clear over the last few seasons that he doesn't give a crap about anyone but himself. Teammates or not, dude doesn't care. I can't wait until we're at midseason and he starts going ballistic because he isn't getting enough targets. And having Carr is probably gonna be difficult for him. Word on Carr is that he clams up and shuts down anytime negative criticism is thrown his way. It's either gonna be great for them or it's gonna be a complete disaster.
  8. This dude is strange. Something tells me he's never really had someone put his ego in check. And if they've tried, he'd probably just take his ball and go home.
  9. Thad doesn't believe Allen is a franchise QB.
  10. Pants pants pants pants pants on fire! Some might say Morse is frageelee.
  11. He'll see.... they'll all see!! The horror...the horror....
  12. He had surgery to his core muscles during the off-season, so they're probably just being extra cautious that they don't re-injure something.
  13. I saw some tweets today that said he broke a couple of big runs in 11-on-11 drills, as did Gore and Marcus Murphy. Yesterday I saw a few Buffalo media members tweet that Shady was running with more power. So far so good, I guess.
  14. I think so? >>>>> Also, maybe not? <<<<< I'm confused.
  15. This is one of the main reasons I'm a Milano fan, kid is somehow always around the ball and finds ways to get turnovers.
  16. Nah. When Oliver was drafted Kyle called him up and told him he'd be around the team/facilities here and there.
  17. "Hey, hey, watch that other hand, man. I ain't no muppet."
  18. Perhaps I should've phrased it differently... the current photo we're being asked to caption reminded me of the Necessary Roughness guy.
  19. Anyone ever see that old movie Necessary Roughness? There's a backup QB in that movie who ends up having to come into a game and on his first snap he just runs towards the ref screaming, "Blow the whistle, blow the whistle!" Rosen reminds me of that guy.
  20. If anything, he and Hughes should create plenty of pressure. Hughes is usually near the top in QB pressures and Murphy was as well before the injuries. Sometimes pressure can be just as good as a sack as it causes QBs to hurry and make poor decisions. And, fun fact, Washington traded the 34th overall pick in 2014 to the Cowboys for picks 47 (Murphy) and 78 (Spencer Long), both ended up on the Bills. The Cowboys took Demarcus Lawrence with that #34 pick.
  21. I didn't see this talked about anywhere else so I figured I'd start a thread because why not? Not sure how many people caught Brian Baldinger's breakdown on Edmunds last week, but he highlighted the fact that Edmunds led the team not only in tackles, but passes defensed as well. Three of those pass defenses ended up as interceptions as two were deflected to Poyer and one to Milano. So, to me, that kinda adjusts his stat-line a little bit. He had 121 tackles, two sacks, two interceptions, and two forced fumbles. Add in the three deflections and he caused seven turnovers last season. Just thought that kinda stood out. We know it took him some time to settle into his new position but as the season went on you could definitely see improvement. And that's one of the things I'm most excited for this year, is seeing their top two picks from 2018 taking the next step. Towards the end of the season, they occasionally let Edmunds rush the passer from the edge. I hope they continue to do that just to throw some different things at opponents. What does everyone think Edmunds is capable of in year two?
  22. Bold prediction: Aaron Rodgers holds himself accountable for bad plays. Bills Bold prediction: Jerry Hughes gets 15 sacks, goes the the Pro Bowl.
  23. Haha, I didn't think they f'ed up when drafting Allen, but I admit, I thought for a minute they took the wrong Josh. Glad to have been wrong.
