  1. I like the pewter-type color they use on the helmets, and the silver facemasks are sharp. The logo being oversized is what makes it look kinda weird for me. I think they should've scaled down on the logos and put a stripe down the center of the helmet. That's just me, though. What sucks the most about their uniforms is the design of the jersey numbers. Looks like a crappy alarm clock.
  2. Yeah, me too. During the off-season Browns hype, my thought was always, "this is a first time head coach with a bunch of monstrous egos at some important positions." So far it seems like he doesn't have a real tight grip on things given their 18 penalties (20 if you count the two that were declined) last week. Lot of combustible personalities on that roster and even though Cleveland gets some love on this board, I kinda wanna see them implode. Mayfield is kind of a dbag, OBJ is turd, Landry throws cheap shots that end careers, etc. It'd be hilarious to watch them turn into a trainwreck after all the hype they got in the off-season.
  3. Tough to say after only two games, but after last night, one starts to wonder what he has left in the tank. Dude missed open guys all night, his mechanics looked clunky, seemed like it didn't even cross his mind to scramble or run even if the opportunity was there. On top of that, his body language and general facial expression gave off a vibe of disinterest. My guess is he's much further away from being 100% (or, probably like 90% since players are always dealing with/playing through some type of pain) than we know.
  4. I hope a rhinoceros takes a dump in his precious little helmet.
  5. Nice article. You're a screenwriter? That's awesome. I'm enamored with the film/TV industry but will likely always enjoy it as an observer rather than a participant, and then on my deathbed I'll say, "I shoulda!" Haha.
  6. Yep, probably. It just gets so old hearing the talking heads clinging to their pre-draft evaluations. It's as if they think players become static upon getting in the NFL. "Here's what they did at college... and that'll be it, they've peaked. They can't improve, they can't refine their skill set, they can't learn new things, they can't be a better player than they already are!" So lame.
  7. I'm pretty sure Allen could rack up a 79% completion rate with 5500 yards, 48 TDs, 7 INTs, 512 rushing yards and another 7 TDs on the ground, win the Super Bowl, win the SB and league MVPs... and the first thing I'd read following the game would be, "We just don't know about this Josh Allen yet, so erratic!"
  8. My thought exactly, haha. He seemed to have a difficult time during his presser yesterday, getting kinda snippy and short with them. He's a putz. Might be a decent X's and O's kinda guy but he's got like, zero leadership ability. He reminds me of Josh McDaniels in that he believes he's the smartest guy in any room. (For any insight on McDaniels, check out "Slow Getting Up" a book by Nate Jackson, a WR/career special teamer who played under McDaniels when he coached in Denver). He also believes he doesn't have to answer to anyone or justify anything he does. Don't expect your players to take accountability when it's clear you can't take it yourself.
  9. I'm good with him. He's going to adapt the offense week to week based on the deficiencies of the defense they're facing. Opponent can't stop the run? They're gonna hand the ball off 40 times. Can't stop the pass? They'll throw it 35 times, etc. He's trying as much as he can to follow the Patriots model of being an offense that can morph and change based on who they play. I don't think they'll get quite the same success as NE considering the disparity in playmakers but I get the approach and am interested to see if they can consistently pull it off.
  10. Hmm... I'm still not 100% certain. Is there any way you could provide more research so I can make a more educated decision?
  11. Yeah, we'll see if Tennessee is that good but I think their win yesterday had more to do with Mayfield imploding and making poor decisions at the worst times.
  12. This here would take a certain degree of self-awareness and internal reflection, neither of which Gase has.
  13. I think it's up to $15 mil, his base salary is $9 mil and they threw him a hefty signing bonus, I forget how much. I hope he causes a complete implosion of that team. He won't, cause babypants finally stamped his feet long enough to get his way and if he tries that crap in NE, ol' Bellychunks will just cut him.
  14. It wasn't a great throw but it's a ball Beasley needs to catch.
  15. These crews hold production meetings on the Saturdays before the game and they go over all their talking points and the things they're gonna highlight. I'm certain at the top of their list for this game was, "Le'veon Bell play football again after no play football for 600 days! We made a counter, lookie!" I just want to punch them all in the friggin' face. I used to throw on NFL Network for background noise back in the day but I don't think I've tuned in to actually watch anything on that network in years. I quit watching pre-game babble years ago as well. As soon as 1 PM hits, I turn on the TV, lol. Even though I've minimized my exposure to these braindead muppets, I still wanna jab myself in the GD ears when I have to listen to a putz like Gannon. Harlan seems to get a lot of love on here but he was irritating to me yesterday. I dunno, maybe I'm just a cranky old grump. I've tried before to mute the TV announcers and turn on WGR (even though I think Murph is also a putz, but I'm interested to hear Eric Wood, he's always been very articulate) but the timing never syncs up, the radio broadcast is a little bit ahead of the TV broadcast. And unfortunately I don't have a DVR box since I don't really watch that much TV, couldn't justify the extra cost for features I'm not gonna use much at all. As bad as some of these crews are, they'll never be as god-awful as the ESPN dillholes that called Great Tedy Bruschi Comeback Game of 2005. "WHAT AN ASTONISHING CHAMPION OF HOPE AND GRACE! A beacon of heavenly light illuminating the entire galaxy! The man just sneezed on the sideline, GOOD GOD THIS MAN IS A MIRACLE!" Dude was a complete non-factor all game yet they talked about him for three straight hours. Made a play counter for him, even. Had zero tackles and zero impact, but his every move was praised like he wasn't the second coming of Jesus Christ, but like he shoved ol' JC right out the way and become the first and only coming.
  16. In the few highlights of this game that I saw, I don't know if I've ever seen less effort given from a defense, yeesh. It looked like they were doing a walk-thru.
  17. I saw this on Reddit a while back, dude accidentally used weed killer all over his yard.
  18. Yeah, this was my thought as well, they like the attitude he brings to the OL and found a way to keep him on the field. Looks like his teammates like him a lot as well given what I saw on the sidelines during pre-season games. Their struggles won't be anywhere near what they were last season. They didn't have a center who could hold things down, now they do. Dawkins definitely missed having Incognito next to him. I'm not saying Spain is on Incognito's level but he's an upgrade over Ducasse and Teller (even though I liked Teller and thought he'd eventually carve out a starting role). The right side seems like it's set to be Feliciano and Ford but they have solid depth for once so they have options and flexibility if the first five they trot out there don't end up coming together very well. Ford can move inside, Nsekhe can play tackle on either side, Long and Feliciano can both play center if needed, this Ryan Bates kid everyone seems to be hyped about can play all five spots on the OL, just up to Bobby Johnson to find where he's at his best. They didn't have any of this versatility last season, and now they do. Plus, the players are just better. I think they'll be alright. Also - I agree with you, H2o, I was just going off your response to the person that said they think the OL will struggle this season.
  19. Media reports from practice this week said the first team OL lined up like so: Dawkins-Spain-Morse-Feliciano-Ford
  20. ShadedBillsEnthusiast? ShadeAndBillsAdmirer? Meh, I thought this would be funnier but it's before noon so I'm still braindead.
  21. You'd think Ryan Allen would've found a new home by now but I haven't heard/seen anything on him taking so much as a visit with a team. I'm only speculating but I'd guess that the dude might have an injury/condition that's not public knowledge right now. Either that or Billy Bellychunx is giving him less than glowing reviews.
  22. Yeah, I think it was said that they wanted to build on defense first and then work on the offense. They brought in Hyde and Poyer and then drafted White in 2017 which revamped the secondary. They found a gem in Milano and already had Alexander. Then last season they brought in Murphy and drafted Phillips for the DL where they had Hughes and Williams. Added more to the secondary with Taron Johnson and Siran Neal and now they return 10 of 11 starters and really look ready to take the next step. We all know how trendy it is to say they passed on Mahomes in 2017 but, obviously, he wouldn't have had the same success here as he's had in KC, and recently either Beane or McDermott said they just weren't ready to go after their franchise QB in 2017. Beane wasn't even the GM yet and as we see all the time, whenever new regimes come in they rebuild the team in accordance with their vision. It probably wouldn't have worked too well to acquire the player you think is your franchise guy without having your GM in the room just yet. They just seem to have a real close eye on the future as well. For instance, lot of people figured they should've spent a second or third round pick on a receiver but after the draft Beane said things never fell into place to where a WR was the highest rated player on their board and he's not gonna deviate from his board. But now, 2020 is shaping up to be a standout class for receivers which works out better for them. Thanks to everyone who took a minute to say thanks or leave a beer mug or a thumbs up. Appreciated!
  23. Thought it'd be interesting to see how the roster broke down going by draft slot or undrafted signings. This list accounts for practice squad players and players on injured reserve, exempt list, etc. List is organized like so: Name (Draft Year/Overall Selection #) - Team that originally drafted/acquired player. 2019 Buffalo Bills Roster 1st Round Josh Allen (7/2018) - Bills Ed Oliver (9/2019) - Bills Star Lotulelei (14/2013) - Panthers Kevin Johnson (16/2015) - Texans Tremaine Edmunds (16/2018) - Bills Shaq Lawson (19/2016) - Bills Tre'Davious White (27/2017) - Bills Jerry Hughes (31/2010) - Colts 2nd Round TJ Yeldon (36/2015) - Jaguars Zay Jones (37/2017) - Bills Cody Ford (38/2019) - Bills Trent Murphy (47/2014) - Redskins Mitch Morse (49/2015) - Chiefs Jordan Phillips (52/2015) - Dolphins Dion Dawkins (63/2017) - Bills 3rd Round Frank Gore (65/2005) - 49ers Devin Singletary (74/2019) - Bills Spencer Long (78/2014) - Redskins Tyler Kroft (85/2015) - Bengals Davis Webb (87/2017) - Giants Andre Roberts (88/2010) - Cardinals John Brown (91/2014) - Cardinals Harrison Phillips (96/2018) - Bills Dawson Knox (96/2019) - Bills 4th Round Matt Barkley (98/2013) - Eagles Maurice Alexander (110/2014) - Rams Taron Johnson (121/2018) - Bills Jon Feliciano (128/2015) - Raiders 5th Round Vosean Joseph (147/2019) - Bills Siran Neal (154/2018) - Bills Lee Smith (159/2011) - Patriots Micah Hyde (159/2013) - Packers Matt Milano (163/2017) - Bills Isaiah McKenzie (172/2017) - Broncos 6th Round Jaquan Johnson (181/2019) - Bills Conor McDermott (211/2017) - Patriots 7th Round Jordan Poyer (218/2013) - Eagles Darryl Johnson (225/2019) - Bills Tommy Sweeney (228/2019) - Bills Undrafted Stephen Hauschka (2008) - Ravens Corey Bojorquez (2018) - Patriots Cole Beasley (2012) - Cowboys Robert Foster (2018) - Bills Tyron Johnson (2019) - Texans Dean Marlowe (2015) - Panthers Senorise Perry (2014) - Bears Levi Wallace (2018) - Bills Patrick DiMarco (2012) - Chiefs Christian Wade (2019) - Bills Cam Lewis (2019) - Bills Julian Stanford (2012) - Jaguars Corey Thompson (2018) - Bills Tyrel Dodson (2019) - Bills Eddie Yarbrough (2016) - Broncos Nate Hall (2019) - Cowboys Mike Love (2018) - Bills Lorenzo Alexander (2007) - Redskins Erik Magnuson (2017) - 49ers Ike Boettger (2018) - Bills Quinton Spain (2015) - Titans Reid Ferguson (2017) - Bills Ryan Bates (2019) - Eagles LaAdrian Waddle (2013) - Lions Ty Nsekhe (2012) - Rams Jason Croom (2018) - Bills Duke Williams (2016) - Rams Nate Becker (2019) - Lions Kyle Peko (2016) - Broncos Overall Players: 69 Drafted Players: 39 Players Drafted by Bills: 18 Undrafted Players: 30 UDFA Players Originally Signed by Bills: 10 Players not drafted/originally acquired by Bills: 31 It's almost a perfect 50/50 split between homegrown players and players acquired via free agency, trades, waiver claims, etc. Even more interesting, all but three players (Hughes, Alexander, Lawson) have been acquired by Beane/McDermott. They have certainly made good on their commitment to building through the draft and rounding out the roster with free agents (without breaking the bank to bring guys in). And Beane should be in line to deal out extensions to their drafted players Off the top of my head I can see White, Dawkins, and Milano in line for extensions as early as next season. And in White's case I think something significant would have to happen for them not to exercise his 5th year option. It's been great to sit back and watch these guys work. They've stayed fully committed to the plans they laid out when they got here in 2017 and refuse to get roped into situations that could be detrimental to them. Beane wheels and deals but all of his moves have been well thought out so they don't wind up in a Bill O'Brien situation with their next two drafts shot to hell and virtually zero leverage when it comes time for them to try and sign Tunsil long-term. Not to mention how Beane has been able to add some late-round draft capital for players that were likely on the way out anyway. And they have tons of cap space so they can head into next year's free agency without too many limitations. Overall it's just nice to see such an organized, forward thinking operation compared to the disarray of previous regimes. Go Bills.
