  1. Holy pile'a crap, Batman. Those rankings are hideous. They should be ashamed of themselves. I hope someone makes them go sit in a corner for a while. Rams have dropped two straight yet they still come in at #4? And the team that just beat them, Seattle, actually drops from 10th to 12th after a victory? And Seattle has Russell Wilson playing probably the best ball of his career right now, but nah, they're eight spots lower than a team on a two-game losing streak. Titans and Steelers ahead of the Bills? I know these rankings don't really mean a whole lot, they're just something to chew on for fans during the week, but cripes... those PFF rankings are abysmal. I've always questioned their credibility and whatever credit I may have given them just got flushed down the terlet, which is exactly where their rankings need to go.
  2. I can give one... one crap? But two? Now they're gettin' greedy.
  3. Yeah, I was gonna say if they were going to cut him for his off-field stuff then they probably would've done that already. He definitely appears to be a prospect they see something in and wanna work with to see what he can become.
  4. Right? Is this another dingbat thing the talking heads have come up with? The Dolphins would wipe the field with them.
  5. Tre isn't just a zone corner. He played a lot of man in college and shut down guys like Amari Cooper and Calvin Ridley. Check out some of the quotes from his scouting report: "...one of the premier mirror-and-match cornerbacks in the game. Has the feet, athleticism and instincts for prolonged coverage responsibilities and his twitch will always have him near the throw. Best suited for all forms of man coverage." "Experienced island corner with slot reps over last two seasons." "Patient in press and rarely commits prematurely." He's a really versatile DB and I'm sure that versatility was one of the main reasons he was drafted by McDermott. And I'm pretty certain he's firmly in their future plans as one of their "sign our own" type of players.
  6. Smith struggled quite a bit against Green Bay last week. He has a tendency to run himself out of plays and get wiped out rather easily by OL. Check out @CharlesRobinson on Twitter, he had some breakdowns and video clips posted. Essentially, Smith is a big reason why Aaron Green ran all over them. I realize this article is more about coverage than run defense but I just thought Robinson had some interesting observations. He didn't trash the guy, when Smith gets his first step going in the right direction he's usually quick enough to elude blocks and make the tackle or get in the lane. He's kind of all-or-nothin' in that sense.
  7. Could definitely be a good fit. He's that tweener-type that McDermott likes, can play safety in addition to LB.
  8. Actually #4 in points allowed. 1. New England, 34 2. San Francisco, 57 3. Chicago, 69 4. Buffalo, 70 San Francisco has only played four games, all other teams listed have played five. Source: https://www.pro-football-reference.com/years/2019/opp.htm
  9. Who's saying anything about them being easy kicks? He's paid a whole crapload of money to kick a ball between two posts and on Sunday he failed miserably at that. He wasn't even close on one of them. I didn't even see the ball on that 38-yarder because he missed so bad. It was caca! He shall feel shame!
  10. Zebrie Sanders!
  11. Cairo Santos, he's their new MVP after all.
  12. Da'Rick Rogers
  13. Best of luck to the kid. Clearly he's a hard worker and a good teammate, things just didn't come together for him here.
  14. I dunno what kinda look the guy is going for but I get "80s low-level coke dealer straight outta Miami Vice" kinda vibes. Complete tool.
  15. That was some crap. The "penalty" on Jackson was just an atrocious call. Steelers defender form tackled the guy and now that's roughing the passer as well. It seems to get worse and worse every year. These morons have such a heavy impact on some games and they're just not getting the calls right. And what the hell's the point of review challenges if that idiot Riveron sticks with the call on the field 95% of the time? Useless. It's making the game hard to enjoy because any time there's a big play my first instinct is to look for a flag instead of cheer.
  16. I mean, I've kinda always felt for the guy because his upbringing was really tough. He lost just about anyone that tried to be there for him as a mentor/parental figure. And yeah, that sucks, but ya gotta take some accountability at some point. He's had guys like Kyle Williams try to set him straight and the dude just falls back into dumb habits. Hope he gets it someday. Today is not that day.
  17. Seems like Allen is on his way to starting but McDermott feels like he gains a "competitive advantage" by not naming the starter until just before the game.
  18. I think McDermott has said as much but the reason they didn't take a QB in 2017 was because they didn't have the GM position and the front office staff figured out. McD didn't want to make such a massive decision with a GM who was on his way out the door.
  19. Always played backyard ball with friends and cousins and whatnot. One summer some buddies of mine had to cut our game short so they could go to actual practice at the school. I decided to join then (10th grade, I think?) and found out relatively quickly that an undersized asthmatic who didn't hit his growth spurt until after HS wasn't gonna make it when the pads came on. So instead I became stats guy/clipboard guy/video guy, and announcer guy because I enjoyed being around it. Claim to fame, I guess, would be my little rinky-dink HS played against the HS of Jehuu Caulcrick. He was on another level and would go on to play at Michigan State and then hung around on practice squads for the Jets, Bucs, and 49ers for a few years before famously getting one regular season carry with the Bills in 2010. If you're not sure who he is, look him up, real interesting life story. My cousins both played QB in HS and then went on to different DIII schools to play, one continued as QB, the other was moved to TE. He played at Hobart which is where Ali Marpet, OG for the Bucs, played, but I don't think they overlapped. They have some interesting stories, though. The one who continued as a QB said he played with kids that definitely could've been DI and eventually pro but they instead wanted to party with friends more than play seriously which is why they ended up at a college in the middle of frickin' nowhere. Both of 'em had ACL/MCL tears. In fact, the younger on just had his surgically repaired this spring. My sport was bowling. If you can call that a sport. Won three division titles with my HS bowling team. What was cool is that my HS was super small so the different sports supported each other. Most of the football team came out to our title matches.
  20. I'm not trading two first round picks unless I'm getting a Julio Jones-in-his-prime type of player.
  21. Depends on who you ask, I guess, haha. I saw another thread where someone said tackling was a "yuuuuge" problem. I don't really see it. They rally up and tackle pretty well. Yeah, a runner bounces off them here and there but that happens with any defense.
  22. Bills defense looked like they were a step ahead of Brady and McDaniels so, I guess I'm not too terribly concerned about Mariota and the Titans. They seem like a real inconsistent team this year. They blew out the Browns thanks to Mayfield's three picks, then they gave up nine sacks in a loss to Jacksonville, which was a game I watched and what I saw was if you get Mariota to hold onto the ball longer than the average 2.5 seconds, he takes some bad sacks. Secondary could play a large role in allowing the DL to get home. And I saw someone mention their screen game... NE has been one of the best screen teams for over a decade now and the Bills shut that down last week. They were stopping tons of NE staples we've all seen year after year that usually chew them up but not this time. I think this defense can pick up where they left off and shut them down pretty good.
  23. My bad, Yolo. I started a new thread on this. I checked to see if it was posted but I must not have scrolled down far enough. You can merge my thread with this one if you want.
