  1. Well said, sir. Knox dropped some gimmies too, and a few of them were in crucial situations or would've resulted in a big gain or an important first down. (He dropped a TD pass as well, right? I think they scored on that drive anyway, but still). Most people see that and say, "Eh, he'll come around, he's a rookie, still adjusting." From early last season the view on Ford was mainly, "Good gravy what the hell are they doing with him at right tackle?! This is an atrocity! I want changes, dapgummit!" and the "Move him to guard" campaign was led by Joe B all frickin' season. Given a full off-season to get right physically, plus his year of experience, I expect McDermott will give him every chance to win the right tackle spot. At best he's the guy at that spot, at worst, he's probably a really well-rounded guard, so it's not like it's a huge deal if he doesn't end up at the spot they drafted him for. In addition to his injuries, I wonder how the every other series thing affected him. Most players like to get into a groove, I wonder if more time on the sideline between series' messes with that. I suppose that could mess with the opponent as well. An edge rusher might be thinking, "OK, it's Ford this series, which means I can run moves A, B, and C." And then next series he might be like, "Now it's Nsekhe and he totally shut down move B so I got A and C that I can try against him."
  2. If I'm running the team... sure, why not? I'd go as high as a 3rd. But I don't run the team, McBeane do... and I don't think Fournette fits their character profile. He's had attitude issues, had the fight up here, pouted on the sidelines, defiance with coaches, etc. His numbers for last season aren't too bad. Before that, though, he was criticized a lot for a 3.3 YPR in '18 and a 3.9 YPR in '17. I think he'd be a good in a combo with a guy like Singletary. Doubt he'd wanna be on a team where he isn't the featured back, though.
  3. I could be wrong but haven't injuries caused him a slow start to his career? I'm still of the mind that they're gonna come out of this draft with Kyle Dugger.
  4. Players on the opposing team will make plays despite our guys being in position and doing everything correctly. It doesn't mean the player who got beat sucks or can't hang. Doesn't mean the coaches called the wrong play or didn't prepare them enough. Sometimes on this board you'd think people's expectations are, "Must be 100% perfect, zero flaws!" because at times I'll see silly comments like, "Yeah, Tre' had a good game, two picks, one of 'em a pick-six, and a forced fumble... but, he allowed a 24 yard reception! Pff, I mean, can we get some guys here who can actually cover?! Do better, OBD!"
  5. With as much research and digging team scouts do, I'm sure they know or at least have a pretty good idea which guys use.
  6. Uh... the bank? That monster that'll give you about tree fiddy? I know where you're coming from but if they would wanna increase the price for a subscription they'd have to offer some new features.
  7. Hmm... they started out at $8 a month for a subscription and I don't think that lasted very long before they bumped it up to $11. The content is pretty good. Sometimes there's some filler, but guys like Joe B and Fairburn are on there, and Timmy Graham who I think is a solid writer that likes to troll sometimes. I dunno if I'd pay more than $11 a month though, so if they're looking for more revenue, hopefully it doesn't come in the form of charging subscribers more.
  8. Well... that's un4tunate.... you see... see what I did there? ....I'll see myself out.
  9. Obviously the guy is going to speak positively about the state of things here. What should he say, "Eh, yeah, we still kinda suck but we almost didn't totally suck last season. Come help us not suck so much!" Yeah, that sounds enticing. I think the overhaul of culture goes beyond the team. It's pretty well-known that when Ralph was the owner, the Bills were a team that generally offered low-ball deals to free agents (their own as well) and had an owner that really didn't have full trust in his administration. Then, you gotta wash off the stank of missing the playoffs for 17 straight seasons and only putting up, what, two winning records during that entire stretch? Then, you're dealing with the usual crap that gets mentioned, small market team, poop weather, nothing to do, blah blah blah. The overhaul of the culture comes from the top down, starting with the Pegulas. They're the opposite of Ralph in that they fully trust their personnel and they give them the money and resources to do what they gotta do in order to get better. I think they're very conscious of the outside perception a lot of people have and they work hard to change that. Surely Cole Beasley thought he probably saw the king of stadiums with Jerryworld, but he comes to this city by the lake and he's blown away by the facilities. (Yeah, I know the stadium is nowhere near the level of Dallas). They reach out to players and their families to personally let them know that they'll be taken care of while they're here. That they're important not just as a football player for the Buffalo Bills, but as a member of the Buffalo community. You just don't hear about that stuff with many other teams. Those things stand out and make a difference. I also think something that could draw players here is the fact that the Bills and the Sabres are really it for this town. I mean that, as in, they aren't overshadowed by an NBA team, or an MLB team, or other sports teams. There aren't tons of big events/shows/concerts always coming through town. These dudes get off the plane at 1 AM and a hundred some odd fans are out there at the airport freezing their jimmies off just so they can congratulate the team and show appreciation. There's no way players see that and don't think, "Wow, this is special, this is different." Mitch Morse and Cole Beasley were greeted with a bucket of wings coming off the plane to do their introductory press conferences. Don't think those guys don't take notice of that. Dion Dawkins spoke about how in other places people would see a guy like him and think, "Oh yeah, that's probably a football player or something" but here, he's got people that know exactly who he is, where he's from, what he's done so far in the league, etc. So yeah, come to Buffalo. Can't absolutely guarantee you'll be the best-ever version of yourself, but they'll sure as sh*t do all they can to help you try to get there. And the fans are gonna make you feel like more than just a football player. And they're gonna give you a home-crowd atmosphere that's gonna remind you of your college days. Yeah, half the frickin' games are played under gloomy gray skies and the occasional blizzard (Indy 2017!) but I really think they can offer a very unique experience you might not get elsewhere.
  10. I think they end up with two receivers in this draft, one in round two or three (I don't think they prioritize the position highly enough to warrant a first round pick) and one somewhere in the last couple rounds as well. I think Bryan Edwards is a real possibility. Looks like they've done a lot of homework on him. I haven't really dug in yet with the draft and whatnot this year but in trying to predict who the Bills would likely take just look for the guys who are team leaders or captains, are seniors or have three years of college ball under their belt, have positional versatility, and have high character. That be the McBeane player M.O.
  11. May the Jets fail at absolutely everything they do. I despise them. I hate Gase's smug little rat fink face. I hope he smacks his stupid toe on every stupid piece of furniture he owns. I hope his Microsoft Surface malfunctions and deletes his entire stupid playbook. I hope Darnold throws about 27 errant passes per practice that hit him right in his googily-eyed fink-face. Friggin' loser. I hope they bring in Conklin and he wastes their friggin' time and makes them think he's gonna sign there and then turns around and signs somewhere else. I hope that happens with every single GD free agent they bring in.
  12. I've read/heard that Wentz can come off like a know-it-all, even arguing with coaches at times about how things should be run. I watched the All or Nothing on the Eagles from this season and I got the sense that Wentz kinda has some trouble relating to his teammates in a non-football way. If he wasn't talking football, he seemed kinda timid and awkward. The life of that team is Brandon Graham, dude talks a lot and he's funny as hell.
  13. I think it's a good practice to do because it keeps players fresh. But, sometimes I wish he'd go by the situation rather than, "this is how the rotation goes." Because there's been more than a few times where you definitely want your first string guys out there, especially when a trailing opponent is trying to rally.
  14. Scott Chandler, maybe? I definitely recall he had the ball punched out against Atlanta in like '13 or '14, cost 'em the game.
  15. Yep, I can't recall the game either but that happened. I think Croom did it in '18 too.
  16. People love those type of effort guys until they get the ball stripped from them while fighting for an extra half-yard when they already had the first down. Then on their next catch they hug the ball and hit the ground as soon as contact hits, haha.
  17. Lot of good moments from 2019. The Pittsburgh game was an interesting one for me. I was waiting to get on a flight back to Buffalo around the time the game started and there were more than a few Bills fans all watching the game at the airport. The flight got delayed, the gate got changed (from one end of the airport to the other) and then I'm on the plane late in the 4th and airplane WiFi is awful. I got sporadic messages from my brother who kept me updated. Got off the plane in Buffalo and this older gentleman walked past me and just went, "Hey-ey-ey-ey" kinda quiet and we were like, "Playoffs!" Cool how sports can bring people together like that. And I didn't see it until later but Barkley whipping his jacket around during "Renegade" cracked me up. Dallas game was great. Kinda watched in disbelief at how easily they came out and smacked 'em right in the mouth. The 4th-down-fumblerooski-scoop-n'-sneak-for-a-first was rad. I think right after that Romo was saying, "And that's why this team loves this kid!" Also, Tre' doing the Dak dance on the sidelines was hilarious. Knox steamrolling against the Bengals, love it. Reminded me of Fred Jackson plowing through Chris Conte during the 2014 opener. Overall what really stands out to me for 2019 was their resiliency. In past seasons we'd see teams with some talent but the minute they'd fall behind it was like the wheels fell off and that was it. They never seemed "out of it" in any game last season (well, maybe Philly after Sanders trucked it 65 yards for a score). And you can tell that these dudes are tight, which is important. I can't even count how many times I've seen one of those 90s Bills players say the main reason they were so good is because they played for each other. They were all about not letting their teammates down and you can see that with this group. Culture is a thing.
  18. I'll fess up, I was a "wrong Josh" guy for a minute. I thought they'd take Rosen since he was seen as more pro-ready whereas Allen was deemed a project. Right after the pick, I got on the YouTube and brought up some Allen highlights and became excited at some of the throws he's able to make. And I trust McBeane and if that's their guy then that works for me. Obviously, there's still work to be done with JA, but the fact that he made legitimate improvements (not just subtle things either) from '18 to '19 gives me a lot of faith that the kid can get to the level people think he can. I think we'll probably always have to deal with a "What the fuuu..." type of play from him now and again, and the stats may not always be 25 of 30 for 370 and 4 TDs, but his playmaking ability should outweigh those things.
  19. Oops! Good call, my bad. I had just seen the Athletic article this morning. Before that, last I saw on Dugger was a mock last week that had Buffalo taking him in the second. Now he's expected to be a first round guy as he's likely to blow it up at the Combine.
  20. One of the main things I can recall about his pops was how good of an open field tackler he was. He wasn't outstanding in one or two specific skills, he was just a really well-rounded player. I see people mentioning Poyer and Jaquan Johnson and whatnot. Just read a mock draft on the Athletic today that had the Bills taking Kyle Dugger at 22. For those that don't know, he's a DII player (Lenoir-Rhyne) who is listed as a safety but can be moved around like a chess piece. The writer (Bruce Feldman) said the kid can play every position on defense except interior DL. McDermott has to be googily-eyes over that kind of versatility. The article also mentioned how Dugger could be similar to what Shaq Thompson does for Carolina. Also, no team has visited Lenoir-Rhyne more than Buffalo this past season. A few numbers on Dugger: 6'2" 217 lbs. 4.41 40 40 inch vert 11 foot broad jump 20 reps @ 225 lbs. 6.7 3-cone Feldman likens him more to Devin Bush than any safety right now. He really seems like a guy they could put anywhere.
  21. Oh, oh, I have heard of these players! To my team they shall be added! Because... uh, cause I've heard of them, duh.
  22. Holy schnikes! Contenders are always the hot set of the year. I'll probably snag a cheap-o from a different set at some point. 11k for Mahomes, dang. Best I ever did on a single card was a 1/21 Cracked Ice Contenders Montee Ball auto. Anyone remember that guy? Anywho, some poor schmuck in Colorado bought it off me through eBay for $180. Dude was out of the league like, maybe a year later, if that.
  23. I remember that game. They hit on two 83-yard TD bombs in the first half. Evans had 11 catches for 265 yards and two TDs that game. That was '06. He should've gone to the Pro Bowl that year. 82 receptions, 1292 yards, 8 touchdowns, his best season for his career. That ProFootballReference.com is one heck of a rabbit hole...
