  1. We need edge? Definitely should draft that Adam Copeland guy.
  2. Nah, I wouldn't worry about that. McDermott's program is all about doing your part. They want a balanced team full of players that compliment each other well. When your number is called, go do your job, simple as that. I'm sure if they had a situation where one guy became the hot hand, they'd roll with him for most of the game. But we know McDermott really loves his rotations and keeping guys fresh. And for the most part, the days of the 25+ carries a game/workhorse type of back are over. Unless you're Derrick Henry, most teams feature two backs with either a pretty even split on snap counts or a lead guy who goes for 70-75% of the snaps and steps out when he needs a breath. That's mah best guess anyway. Been sitting around the house going on two weeks now, my daily routine is all jacked up and I think my brain is going to mush so my opinion could be as valuable as a poopy-flavored lollypop at this point.
  3. I, myself, am a certified All-Pro Couch Potato. Drafted out of Lazy State University in the first round of '82, destined for the Couch of Fame when I hang 'em up.
  4. That was probably a 2-14 roster that he coached to 6-10. We all knew they would have to endure the "growing pains" year and I feel like despite the losses and the holes on the roster, he still had full trust and belief from his players.
  5. Tinfoil hat stuff for sure. Watson's probably bummed about the Hopkins trade but his tweet reads like song lyrics. I don't know what in the blue eff Bill O'Brien is trying to do to that team. I think ownership will regret giving him so much control. Is he trying to sabotage his own career? Because if he makes a trade like that, he ain't ever again gonna get the keys to the GM office and likely the HC office as well. Wouldn't be able to be trusted to do what's best for whichever team he was with. Dude strikes me as an arrogant, egotistical, know-it-all blowhard with a bunghole for a chin.
  6. Solid signing if he can stay healthy. He seems to excel in McDermott's system. I felt like he was in the right place at the right time on the field when he was here in '17.
  7. The talking heads obviously always debate which team got the better end of a trade deal and I've seen plenty of people saying Minnesota schooled Beane and blah blah blah. To me, the Bills have the upper hand in terms of this trade right now. They got a proven player who's ready to go right now. Minnesota has a handful of picks and if all of those picks work out well for them then maybe they got the better end of the deal. But there's no definitive way to tell until about 2-3 years from now when we can weigh what Diggs has done (and the obvious 7th round gem/steal Beane shall pick) against what Minnesota's picks have done. But right now, Bills win the deal despite what they gave up.
  8. It's a bummer that they can't guarantee their positions, but as someone pointed out, there's no guarantee from the employees that they'll all return. The one part in all this that really sucks (and hasn't been mentioned yet) is that PSE isn't allowing any laid off employees to use the PTO they've accrued. My company is allowing people to use what they want of their PTO before filing for unemployment. That's earned time off. Imagine being someone who works and works to save up a bunch of PTO for an occasion such as this only to be told, "Nope, can't use it." Lame.
  9. Matt Patricia, another turd grown from the Tree of Belichick who thinks he can coach like him without earning the respect he has. I think he'll end up in the dumpster marked "Failed Belichick Disciples" along with Mangini, McDaniels, Crennel, and Saban. Hopefully Mike "The Moustache" Vrabel (or if you prefer the alternative, Mike "I'll Chop My Own ***** Off to Win a Super Bowl" Vrabel) and Billy Buttchin O'Brien will also end up in there. I know he's in Miami but I kinda like Brian Flores, just prefer him not to succeed against the Bills or...at all, because ta hell with the Fish.
  10. One of my favorite Belichick stories was during game review on a Monday and he was irritated that Brady threw to a different receiver (and it may have been picked) when it was supposed to be a simple five yard hitch. Belichick said something like, "If you don't wanna run this play the way it's called, I'll go down to Foxborough High and sign their JV quarterback to do it."
  11. This dude has reached that level where the myth is bigger than the man. Because of his size and athletic ability, a lot of people expected him to come in and tear up the league but he hasn't done that... but he thinks he has, and thinks he deserves the type of deal you give to a player who actually does come in and tear it up. Is the dude a game changer? Not really. Do offenses have to game plan around him? Probably not. Does he take over games and dominate? Not really. Could he be all these things? Sure, but right now he isn't, so he shouldn't expect some kinda mega-monster deal. Good player, but quite a few guys are doing it better than he is right now.
  12. To me, O'Brien seems like the last of a dying breed of those type of hard-nosed coaches that do the "my way or the highway" BS, and that stuff just doesn't fly in today's NFL. I'm not sure what some coaches don't understand about that. If you go out there and don't bother to find ways to best connect with your players, then your players are gonna tune you out pretty quick. People can bang on culture all they want but that's something I really appreciate about McDermott. He takes the time to find the best ways to reach his players. That shows that he truly cares, from the practice squad guys all the way up to the ones, he makes everyone feel respected and important. O'Brien probably just makes you wanna slap the butthole right off his chin.
  13. I remember when Butler was drafted and there was some buzz that he was a first round steal. I don't think he's quite been that but he'll fit in fine with the DL rotation. I love how almost every time they add to the DL a bunch of people on here are like, "That's it for Murphy! He done, snip snip muthatrucka, you cut!" He ain't an All-Pro but cutting him just creates another hole to fill. I'm also still unsure of the expectations some people have. Did they expect him to come in and rack up 15 sacks? Hell, can any of their DL rack up 15 sacks given that they all get somewhere between 40 and 60% of the snaps? This team really isn't about two or three superstar players that carry the rest of the crew, they're all about balance and having a well-rounded group that does their job and works to elevate each other. I just gotta laugh a bit when people lose it because Player A got $10 million a year but only got four or five sacks. I mean, these guys do get paid for more than just their on field performance.
  14. Looks like the long lost and much scruffier brother of Trent Murphy.
  15. Hot diggidy dawg, a big time move. Seems like a lot to give up but those late round picks are often negligible and the 4th is in 2021. His contract is exactly the type of deal that Beane goes after as well. And if they weren't overly impressed with the receiver prospects this year then I give 'em credit for taking a big swing on Diggs here.
  16. I'd be alright with Howard as the #2 back. Started off his career pretty hot but then kinda fell off the rails there. Everyone clamoring for them to say, "Eh, fudge Howard, we'll just draft a guy" they could do both, really. And keep in mind that they prefer a veteran in each position group. Also keep in mind how gradually they worked Singletary into the offense. They might want a guy who can come in and be able to contribute quicker than a rookie.
  17. Shaq's recent social media posts are interesting. Clearly ODB is busy today re-signing Spain and restructuring Kroft, so maybe he sees that and his posts are like, "Hey, my turn?" Or, he's effin' around, or maybe homeboy struck a new deal with them. I figured he'd definitely be one to test the market, but maybe that's changed now given the fact that he's turned into a big part of the locker room. Maybe he wants to stay here where he's established and where he's become somewhat of a leader. I think he played well in 2019, pretty solid all around player, but he doesn't really pop off the screen with any one skill. He seems to know the defense and his assignments real well, gets a lot of props for being good against the run. As for his sacks, though, I feel like all or most of them are coverage sacks. He's not exactly buzzing right past guys with speed or making them whiff with a set of ninja-like moves. If he does get to the QB right off the rip he's usually up against a TE or a back. One-on-one against OL, he really has to work to get a sack. That was kind of his story in college, too. Maybe he's trending towards becoming a guy who can beat an OL the way he slapped around TBD Perennial All-Universe Mega-Legend "OMG why did they ever let this guy walk, fire Beane now!!111" Supergod Nick O'Leary, like he did in '18. Maybe the brass is super impressed with how he responded to their "earn it" message and they think he can only get better from here. We shall see. For the record, I like Shaq and would welcome him back on a fair deal.
  18. Well good for little Gooby Minchoo and the Jagwirez. In other news, PFF, WAAAYYYYYY less efficient and almost profoundly stupid compared to this other site I know of. APWFPFFPP.
  19. It reminds me of the Chargers more than the Rams... which gives some credence to the rumor that it could possibly a "mash-up" kinda thing to represent both LA teams. Either way, the designer here should be sent to the corner with the Cone of Shame.
  20. What is all this, some kinda joke?! ...Aiyuk-yuk-yuk... It's been a long day already and I'm not even halfway through it. I'd be fine with them taking this guy, seems like he's got a lot of upside. Based on Beane's comments, it seems they're gonna continue to work on helping Allen realize he doesn't have to do it all himself. I just hope they aren't trying to condition him into a game manager or anything. Dude has some special traits that they gotta dial up here and there.
  21. It's fine. I doubt they're looking at him to be much more than a rotational piece. And who says he's guaranteed a roster spot? He'll have to earn it.
  22. Took a look at his history.... 2014 - Freshman - Redshirt 2015 - RS Freshman - Played in 10 of 14 games, 4 INTs, 2 fumble recoveries (FRs), 43 tackles 2016 - RS Sophomore - One game, then medical redshirt 2017 - RS Sophomore - Played in 10 of 14 games, began returning punts (9.9 yards per return, one TD), 1 INT, 2 FFs, 1 FR, 87 tackles 2018 - RS Junior - Played in all 14 games, returned two punts for TDs (in the same game), 3 INTs, 2 FFs, 3 FRs, 76 tackles, named First Team All-South Atlantic Conference both as a DB and punt returner. 2019 - RS Senior - Played in 7 of 14 games, despite this, was named best defensive player in DII (Cliff Harris Award), DII First Team All-American, among other accolades. Two punt return TDs (again in the same game), 3 INTs w/one a pick-six (3 total TDs on the season), Lenoir-Rhyne's all-time leader in punt return yards, 31 tackles. Overall he missed 28 games through his career (not counting the RS Freshman year). All I know is, Bills have done more homework on him than any other team and McDermott has to be giddy about this kid's versatility. He's lined up everywhere on defense except interior DL, some think his best position could be LB as he has the size (6'2" 220, about the same as Milano, who's 6' even, I believe) but I can see McDermott utilizing him as a chess piece he can put all over the field and in multiple packages. Definitely one to keep an eye on.
