  1. I'd be alright with that, but I think they would have a couple other positions ranked over TE, especially in the early rounds. They really need to get younger on the DL. Got some starters over or near 30 and a lot of guys with deals that end in the next year or two. I've heard the DE/Edge group is really hit and miss this year. Seems kinda the same way with DT. I also think they're still in play for their big nickel guy, that could be in play early. CB as well. If they can't find DL then maybe they go CB early and hope that reinforcing the secondary will allow them to cover just a tick longer so someone up front can get home. The WR group is too deep for them to ignore. Sanders and Beasley are both over 30 with deals ending after 2021 and 2022. I think they'll restructure/extend Diggs and they have Davis and Hodgins to bring along but they still probably want a speedy flyer with return experience. I like Friermuth but I just don't know if they'll go for a TE that high.
  2. They go over stuff like this at the Rookie Symposium every year. They have former players that mishandled their money and lost everything and come in and tell cautionary tales. They do a lot of seminars there to help guys adjust to life as an NFL player. From what I understand, however, is that more than half the prospects sleep through it or wear headphones and tune out.
  3. Had to have been decent money or a last resort because I wouldn't wanna be anywhere near the Texans right now. Clown show.
  4. I like the one from The Departed, "World needs plenty of bartenders!"
  5. McKenzie got hurt late in the Miami game in Week 17. I don't think it was reported on very much because the team figured he'd work through it and not really miss much time, but his snaps were way down against Indy and Baltimore. They went back up a bit against KC. Seems like the entire WR group was playing hurt in the AFCCG.
  6. Huh, how's about that...way out of left field. I guess maybe they weren't thrilled with what they've seen outta Fromm? They speak highly of Davis Webb's football IQ but don't seem to wanna see him on the field. And I figured Troobabinski would've went somewhere he thought he'd have a shot at QB1.
  7. Saw someone say yesterday that the WR market has been super slow because it's all a bunch of WR2's & 3's wanting WR1 money. Makes sense.
  8. Yikes on bikes, I got this guy mixed up with Matt Darr, who punted here for a hot minute in like 2018, I think. He was the drizzlin' poops! I was wigged out for a minute. Bojo had a good season but maybe he's missing something they're looking for, ya knows? That said, consistency (aside from last season) seemed to be Bojo's biggest issue. One kick would be a moon rocket and the next he'd shank 19 yards into the bench and bean the waterboy or something. Either way I don't think the drop off will be significant. This Haackaloogie kid could be better, who knows? Not like they're gonna punt it this season anyway, eyy!
  9. The things they've done and the continuity they've had has led them to where they're currently at. They come up one game short and they should rearrange everything that's brought them success? Just because? Nah.
  10. I thought Bojo was pretty good last year. And he's won the punting job three straight seasons now, so he can't be *that* bad. That said, if this guy is good to go and can boot it like he did before the injury then he can come play here too. I offer him a 3 year deal for 14 skittles and a sock fulla nickels.
  11. I don't think they're gonna go out and spend money on a free agent running back. Did they struggle to effectively run the ball? Yeah, but the issues go beyond just "they need a new back!" The OL couldn't get out of their own way on running plays. Plus, this offense is throwing the ball 65% of the time on average. They're gonna get by with Singletary and Moss. Maybe they draft a kid in the 4th or 5th to compete for the 3rd RB spot with Antonio Williams and maybe Christian Wade? I don't think they'll bring back Yeldon. In the very limited snaps Yeldon got I felt like he really wasn't that bad. I guess maybe he just can't make plays consistently? Either way, I'm sure he's out the door. As for TE, yeah they could probably upgrade over Kroft. If Lee Smith retires I think they probably try to see if Tommy Sweeney or Nate Becker or even Reggie Gilliam can take his spot as the blocking TE. I still have faith in Knox, all the talent is right there, just gotta put it all together. That said, I wouldn't be mad if they added Henry or Jonnu Smith. But they're not gonna get into a bidding war for any of these guys so they'll have to get creative with the contract numbers while really selling the fact that they do indeed have a very real window of opportunity to win the Super Bowl within the next three seasons.
  12. JuJu is a weenie. I like that the kid has fun but he seems like he's a little too wrapped up in his "brand" or whatever. And I don't think he's a legit #1 receiver. I know he caught 97 passes last season but his YPC was way down. That may have been because their offense switched over to a west coast inspired passing attack. He'll go somewhere. I don't know if we'll see too many guys getting "overpaid" this season due to the cap. I just think teams might be a little tighter with their money and less likely to get into bidding wars this year because they just don't have the $ to throw around. That said, I bet the big stupid Jets swoop in and give him a moronic deal. And then he'll arrive with all the fancy fun fanfare and then proceed to catch two passes for five yards and a fumblerooski. The Jets must suffer!!
  13. Bada bing bada boom, Beane the magic man strikes again. Love it. Seeing the media so ready to list this guy as someone they wouldn't re-sign kinda baffled me. They've been unsettled at right tackle for a long time now. Williams comes in on the one year deal, rejuvenates his career by playing where he's best suited and just has an all around solid season. No way they weren't gonna do as much as they could to bring him back. How about that? Williams and Milano were the two names I constantly saw on the "ain't no way they re-sign in Buffalo" list. And before free agency even kicks off, Beane has his top two in-house FA's retained. Awesome.
  14. I haven't looked at too many of the prospects yet but I did see some film on that Jenkins kid and he could be a good one.
  15. I'd love to ask a coordinator how they make sure they don't get too wrapped up by the chess match type stuff that happens during the week. Part of their game planning involves trying to predict what the opponent is gonna do. I wonder how they make sure they don't get too overly involved or overly cautious. I read the book "Collision Low Crossers" which was an behind the scenes look at the Jets 2011 season and one chapter talked about a uniquely designed play drawn up by ol' Rexy and Mike Pettine and for weeks they practiced it and would work and so it would go in the game plan but they never once called it in a game. Said they never found the "perfect situation" for it. I guess I can get that but really, how often does a perfect situation come along? Sometimes you just gotta try to roll with stuff. With how Daboll aims to morph the offense from week to week based on opponent, I've often wondered if he's gotten too into his own head and ends up game planning things that don't always play to the strength of his players because he's basing it off who they're facing. I also felt like there were times where they refused to adjust to what the defense would allow and wanted to keep doing their bread and butter.
  16. I don't think I'm a big fan of the 4th and 15 idea. How's that fair to a defense? Maybe the opponent marches down and scores on a 12 play 80 yard drive and then they get the ball right back for the 4th & 15 try? There's gotta be a better idea out there. I'd look at altering the onside kick, I dunno, like maybe the kicking team is allowed one or two gunners to take off as soon as the kicker starts moving, like how kickoffs used to work.
  17. I wouldn't be surprised if it were true. It does sound a tad bitter, like they're exaggerating a bit to make it sound worse but I think it's been known for a while that Watt goes off the script with defensive play calls at times. He definitely talks the talk as the ultimate team player, if it's all a facade then meh, again, not surprised. I lost some respect for him when he decided on AZ. Dude talks about wanting to go to a contender and it's not them. And he is not the final piece that pushes them over the hump. They beat the Bills on a last second fluke play and ran around like they just won the Super Bowl and then proceeded to lose like 6 out of their next 7. They're a young, immature team and I don't think Kingsbury has installed the type of culture that contends for championships. And I like Murray fine, but if that kid doesn't shake his habit of bailing whenever his first read is covered he's gonna have a bad time. That said, I genuinely hope they go 2-14 this season. If that can't happen, I'd love to see Houston end up with more wins than them, hahahah, take that, Justin!
  18. Close enough, right? I don't think we have to split hairs over context or whatever. It's pretty plain to see that he wanted to go somewhere with a chance at a championship in the next few years. I don't think AZ is that team. They're not in a rebuild, obviously, but I think they're a bit further away than some other teams. Not trying to be a homer but I truly believe the guy could've flourished here. To each his own. That said, I wholeheartedly wanna see AZ go 2-14 this year.
  19. Google is a pal! Here's a quote from him from a Houston Chronicle article on 11/4/2020. “I don’t think it’s any secret that I don’t have 10 years left in this league,” Watt said when asked if he wants to finish his career with the Texans. “I personally believe that I do have a few more great ones left in me, but I’m not looking to rebuild. I’m looking to go after a championship, and that’s what I want to do." 20. "I wAnNa gO sOmEwHErE I cAn wIn a ChAmPIoNsHiP, uH dIuHRrR!" Liar. Ain't no rings in the desert, Justin.
  21. Fitz still wants a chance to start somewhere so I don't think he'd end up here. Last I saw, Denver had interest in bringing him in as the starter.
  22. One of the things I saw in a lot of scouting reports on him was that the mileage he already has could prevent him from reaching a second contract. Obviously that's just speculation and I hope he has a nice long career. But in order to do that he may need to reel it in on the physicality somewhat. And yeah, as some others have said, the anti-Singletary crusade around here is a bit much. He didn't play great but neither did the OL on most running plays this season. Maybe someone who's a bit better with the X's and O's can give me some insight on the run game scheme that Daboll employs. I recall it being said that Moss is an ideal zone runner but in Buffalo he's not in that type of system. And I know Daboll switches things up from week to week so one week maybe they are an inside zone running team and then next week it's all downhill, three yards and a cloud of dust type stuff. Clearly they'll prioritize the run game this year and I, for one, am good with the Singletary & Moss show. If they go in another direction that's fine too but I'm confident that 20 & 26 can be solid contributors.
