  1. Right? Yeesh. Only he knows the what and why behind his burnout in the league. I think I recall reading he's had some mental health struggles in the past so that could be it. Good for him, just as you said. Maybe he's in good shape and he catches on somewhere. I think the solid rookie season he had may have put him into cruise control.
  2. While SJF is a nice campus and they do a great job of hosting camp, I don't think the whole going away to bond and practice for three weeks really has any benefit anymore. We saw that last year with the rona forcing camps to be at stadiums. That makes it easier on the players, especially ones with families. They can go home at the end of the day instead of back to a dorm. I really hope we don't do this giant rush to "get back to normal." Clearly we found ways to make stuff work with the world shut down. Found some more efficient ways to do things that should be introduced into a new kind of normal.
  3. I think Kumerow makes the team. The fact that they went and brought him back after NO scooped him up tells me they definitely see something. He brings some size to the WR spot plus he plays special teams. I don't think the new kid, Stevenson, is a lock. He has to beat out McKenzie who has several years in this system and has evidently been working with Matt Haackaloogie to get better at punt returns. He's putting in all sorts of work to secure the kick/punt returner job as well as WR5.
  4. My wayward...Johnson? No, that doesn't sound right...
  5. This is still being talked about?! Yeesh, I'm pretty sure Beane and the FO have moved on from this idea. Knox is going all George Kittle this year anyway so who needs Ertz MaGurtz?
  6. The company my dad used to work for (since retired) holds season tix in the Kelly Club for when the international suits come over. Through the years, they would raffle off unused tix and my old man won his fair share. I watched the 31-0 whoopin' on NE in 2003 as well as a few others. Most recent was the 2015 home opener vs. Indy. I've sat in a bunch of other sections and you're 100% right, people are generally more relaxed in the club seats. Went to the 2013 opener and my wife (lady friend at the time) and I had beer dumped on us before the game even started. Numbnuts in the row behind us was hammered by 12:30 and just certain that the other dude a few seats over was eyeballing his mongoloid of a girlfriend. He got the boot. I know the Mafia gets rowdy and likes to party but man, I can't imagine being sh*tfaced that early in the day. TLDR: teef right, club seats good spot for youngins.
  7. I'd love to hear this one after he makes a play: Also, "I'm Your Boogie Man" by the same band. I think they might have upwards of 10 songs with the word boogie in the title lol
  8. It's not all on the backs. The OL struggled to create lanes in nearly every game. The run game as a whole needs to improve and I think it will. They shuffled the interior OL almost all season. Ford went out early, Feliciano didn't start playing until nearly mid-season, Morse missed some time, and it took Boettger a while to settle in. This year they have a full training camp and preseason to solidify the OL. Moss had some hurdles his rookie year. Got hurt a couple times, benched because of a fumblerooski, etc. I'm sure he's anxious to get back out there and show what he can do. Singletary as well. Both players have solid attributes and I don't think you give up on them this early, especially if they used a pair of 3rd round picks, they expect guys drafted that high to stick and produce. But homeboy ain't sold on them so uh...I dunno. Tell 'em they're all fired I guess?
  9. I'm not sure, nobody really stands out. Harris seems like he could be really good up in NE but they always go RBBC so who knows. I'm excited for Moss this season. He had a bit of a rocky rookie year with some injuries and getting benched because of a fumble but hopefully he takes the next step in year two. I know it's the trendy thing to harp on Singletary but I don't think it's completely fair to put everything on the RBs. The OL struggled in nearly every game to create lanes. So many times defenders were in the backfield the second Allen handed it off. Singletary may not have the big time speed but he has great vision, tremendous balance, he cuts really well and makes guys miss. Between him, Moss, and Brieda, we should see some improvement. I think they're gonna be alright.
  10. Thanks Yolo. I cut and pasted the link in my OP and usually that works. I screwed it up! My big chance to share the big news on the board and I blew it!! Gah! 😆
  11. Following the 2006 season, "Losman showed he can do it. He's gonna take over next year!" "I think this Zay Jones kid could be really good."
  12. I'm good with it. He has some crazy length which he seems to use pretty well. He shows up on those highlights with a shoestring tackle a bunch of times, able to use that length to trip 'em up as they try to leave the pocket. Interesting that the lined him up over the center at times. That's another McBeane hallmark they look for in prospects: versatility. As a jersey number nerd, I wonder which number he'll take. 50-59 are taken, and then 95 and 96 are available in the 90s, although I don't know if they have #95 in rotation.
  13. I'm good with it. They definitely needed to get a little younger on the DL. He's a bit of a project, sure, but they won't ask him to play like, 65% of the snaps this season. They'll work him in slowly. Eager to see if Beane moves around in the 2nd or 3rd rounds tonight. I wonder if RB is still on their radar...maybe they go with one of the North Carolina backs.
  14. I thought Newsome made a lot of sense for the Bills but it's not to be. I've been doubtful about a trade down, Beane has never actually moved down, only up. The roster is tight for spots so you'd assume they wouldn't be too concerned with walking out with a haul of eight or ten players. But maybe they drop down a bit and then juggle things around so they end up drafting in rounds 2-5 and maximizing their value.
  15. I don't know why you wouldn't. They completely overhauled the entire franchise and changed the culture. They unloaded bad contracts and stockpiled draft picks. They found three starters in their first draft and just re-signed all of them. They get their QB and LB in 2018. They sign Beasley, Morse, Feliciano, turning weak position groups into strengths. Trade for Diggs who goes and has an all-pro season. They've plugged free agents into the right spots, they've kept their word on draft, develop, re-sign. They have plenty of analysts pointing to them as the perfect example of how you orchestrate a full on rebuild. After the crapshows that were the 2000-2016 seasons it's a more than welcome change to have Team McBeane driving this ship.
  16. Joey B to Chase is gonna be fun to watch. I'd like the Bengals if I didn't wanna roundhouse their weasel-faced, spazoid coach right in the nuts.
  17. Exactly. They needed help on offense, Rodgers needed an additional target aside from Adams. They're also in a window where they can compete for a championship right now so you'd think they'd wanna draft players that can contribute very early. But instead, they spend a first round pick on a quarterback who might sit for four or five years before he sees the field. I know Big Rodg can be seen as "mercurial" but I side with him on this. GB has consistently short-changed him at the skill positions. They're basically like, "You got Davante, shut up!" Adams is a beast but he can't be the whole offense.
  18. I'm fine with them grabbing one of the top backs early. I've said before, I believe with their first two picks they want players that can contribute early. They're in the window for a championship right now and don't wanna spend draft capital on a guy that isn't really gonna make much impact until his second or third season. So you have to look at which position groups have players ready to go in 2021. RB fits that, WR, CB, I think those are the deeper groups in this class. RB definitely seems likely. I also think they could potentially look for an LB or DB for their big nickel spot. Whatever they do, I'm fine.
  19. I lean towards Harris. The way he's talked about seems like he's kind of a step ahead of everyone else in that group.
  20. The way I'm looking at the draft for McBeane is I believe they want to draft someone who can come in and contribute as early as possible. They're linked to the DE/edge rushers but I think everyone in that group is gonna need substantial time to develop and contribute. Same for the DTs, unless someone like Barmore falls that far. DL needs some help but I don't feel like they're going that direction in the first. I don't think a LB will be there that they'll like. So that leaves a DB on the defensive side. The CB group is deep so they could wait until the second or third, but I do believe that group is pretty strong this year so they could go that direction because they might find one who can start day one. I also think the 'big nickel' spot they've been looking for could be in play here. Would that Moering kid from TCU make it to 30? Offensively, I kinda jumped on board with the theory that they may want to inject that "instant offense" type of playmaker. Therefore, I can see them going WR or RB if they believe they have an impact player who can start early. For me, that's Najee Harris. I know people get they jimmies all rustled about a first round RB but that dude seems special. WR-wise I know they've been linked to Elijah Moore and other speedy receivers like that so maybe that works too. I don't think they go OL early. Just mah two cents.
  21. Geez Louise, just gnarly. I remember Stevie Johnson used to have a real sick first step and he specialized that basketball style crossover that would get him open a lot. Looks like Diggs has that crossover thing in his arsenal as well. I had to really read up as to why this dude fell to the 5th round back in 2014. Some injuries and overall poor offense/QB at Maryland kinda limited him. Kudos again to Beane and McDermott for fully understanding the type of receivers Josh needed in order to flourish. They could see that Josh was a "see it open a d throw it" instead of a "throw them open" guy. So they said we need dudes who can separate and make it easy for our QB. They go get Beasley and Brown and then Diggs. And now Josh has started to throw guys open a lot more so it helped him grow a lot.
  22. Practice squad. Remember, Trubisky isn't sticking around beyond this season. He's looking at 2021 as a "reboot" for him and will look to sign somewhere with a chance to compete for QB1 in 2022. I think Fromm will hang around here for at least this season as they try to develop him and see what he's got. Davis Webb is likely the third string guy and gets the call up in the event Trubisky has to start a game. I can't see that happening since Josh Allen is made of BDE and vibranium. They really like Webb for his IQ as well. They're moving on without Barkley so I feel like they'll keep Webb since he's been in the QB room with Josh for a couple years now.
  23. I recall reading that Schwentz rustled more than a few jimmies while he was at NDSU. Dude has some arrogance to him and seems like a "not my fault" kinda guy, at least to a degree. He takes some accountability but overall it seems like he'd rather pass the blame. I think it was said that the dude would need some hand holding in the NFL and supposedly Reich was that guy when he was in Philly. So we'll see how it works in Indy.
  24. Overall a pretty good makeover. The numbers remind me of the Bears a little bit. Bears number font is a bit thinner but definitely similar. May Joey B throw four TDs a game unless he's playing the Bills in which case I wish for him to throw a good 14 or 15 interceptions.
