Where’s the juice at the position of Wide Receiver?
LABILLBACKER replied to zow2's topic in The Stadium Wall
I still fantasize about a world where we took Justin Jefferson over Diggs. -
Trust me....it's not just the Chiefs in the playoffs....we gave up points and a ton of yards against Indy(2020), Cincy(2022) and Baltimore(2024).

3rd round draft pick snap counts
LABILLBACKER replied to Ethan in Cleveland's topic in The Stadium Wall
Yes in a perfect world you'd like your 3rd round pick to play some. Even if it's only 10-20% snaps. But in keeping with Bills tradition, I'll tow the company line and simply say "trust the coaches, they know so much more than us". There's obviously a reason they don't feel comfortable enough to throw a jersey at Landon. Hopefully by the end of the season he can get his feet wet on some blowout games. The bigger issue is getting Oliver, Hoecht and Hairston on the field soon. -
I guess I just appreciate the statistics that are accumulated in the playoffs much more than those in the regular season. You're going up against the best of the NFL. And yes they haven't exactly been clutch in the post season. Even you gotta admit that. The season we actually play like a top 3 or top 10 defense in the PLAYOFFS will probably be the season we win a championship.
-
Top 3 defenses don't give up 2 huge plays in 10 seconds. I'd rather have a defense that can stop teams on 3rd down then have to rely on a desperation late game turnover to "save the day". Of course we're going to have a top 10 defense when we play Mia, NYJ, NE 6 times a year. I better shut up. I've already said too much. I might be accused of crusading.

So far 17th in points given up but 31st (almost 32nd) in run defense is a complete embarrassment. I've never seen a teams fan base make more excuses to where we're at. Injuries, suspensions, rookies, etc....We've never had a dominating defense in the McD era. We've never had a game wrecker in his tenure. I blame Sean and Brandon for not doing a better job of finding defensive talent. Come playoff time, Josh will have to do what he's always had to do. Outscore your opponent.....

Sauce Gardner is crying, but does he have a point?
LABILLBACKER replied to Draconator's topic in The Stadium Wall
It wasn't called early in his career. Now it's been recognized. -
What are you all talking about? We need that 2nd round pick so we can draft another failed DE. Believe in the process.
-
His career is over. Not at all sad to see. Wish him no luck and bad health.

Is Hawes in the process of surpassing Knox as TE2??
LABILLBACKER replied to Special K's topic in The Stadium Wall
It would not shock me in the slightest that this is Dawson's last season as a Bill. Hawes is an amazing blocker and has shown so far to be a very reliable pass catcher. I'm not as caught up on the "angry run" yac. Catch the damn ball and Hawes does that. -
If and when Milano returns, just stick with the 4-3 and someone teach Dorian how to tackle. 3 linebackers should help Bosa's contain. Oliver & Walker are the future of our DT's. Bishop is still very raw by gradually improving every game. Baby steps... Rapp?...for a guy who launches himself like a "friendly fire" skud, he sure misses alot of tackles. Hopefully Hoecht & Hairston can have an impact before December? I'd hate to think of where this offense would be without Cook. I was wrong and he's worth every penny. Kincaid too is turning things around from last year. The Saints game execution wasn't perfect but this team reminds me of a cat playing with a mouse before ending it.

I more than appreciate the fact that we've taken so many swings at finding a pass rusher. Its not for a lack of trying. The problem is Beane and his scouts are just not doing a good enough job in evaluating all these Dlineman. I mean if Solomon, Sanders, Jackson flame out, I'd just say screw it and sign 1 year FA rentals like Floyd/ Bosa every year. We can't count on BB ever finding a game-wrecker.

SEPT. 28: Around the NFL, other games.

Yup....a real sister kisser... -
Zach Davidson to the rescue....😃

Great....he's on pace for 4 sacks. I'll alert the media. Epenesa is actually worse than Kelsay. We've had 1 double digit sack guy in the Allen era and it was a 1 year FA rental. None of our pass rushing draft picks have become game wreckers. That is killing us making a SB, let alone winning one.
-
Sean has jumped the shark.... Let's not kid ourselves....we've struggled to draft an impact full defensive player in the last several years. Who knows if any of these guys sniff 10 sacks?
-
He struggles talking to his team in these victory speeches. Yet he's more articulate as we saw in Hard Knocks, talking to team in the class setting. Go figure?
-
He did include the obligatory 27 claps before starting his talk. Josh's 1-2-3 win now takes .01 seconds.....
-
Replacing an overpaid scrub with another overpaid scrub. Brilliant idea?
-
This team over the last 5 years has been notoriously bad at tackling. Nothing today surprised me. We literally rely on late game turnovers and keeping plays in front of us. We're winning while playing uninspired football. I don’t know how long it lasts but getting 5 defensive players back should help.

Give them 15 yards then backpedal into that beautiful zone. What could possibly go wrong. -

That 9% play action number has to increase.
