It's going to take a few hundred more cheeseburgers for that.

Is McD actually compensating for Beane?

He was 33 years old when we signed him. That is so unbelievably risky, especially at the cost. Beane probably will never offer a large FA contract to a pass rusher over 30. That's why it's gotta be Garrett/ Crosby or bust in a trade. -
He's never getting fired. Terry is too terrified to do it. Sean has this folk hero following because he dug us out of the drought. If he hadn't acquired Josh, he would've been fired years ago. He and Beane have done a poor job building this defense, whether you believe in the nickel zone or not. All we can do as a fanbase is continue to support Josh. And try to convince ourselves that the yearly "Schotty awards" will be the culmination.

There's no way in hell I'm paying Greg anything past 14-15/ yr. And that's being generous. He's the epitome of Gabe Davis and Tremaine Edmunds. In 4 full seasons he's averaged 6.2 sacks. If this doesn't reek of Chris Kelsay, I don't know what does. We may be forced to sign him because we don't have anyone else. Von will be gone June 1st and there's no way we keep AJE after 2025, who's been more disappointing than Groot. We must go after a Cosby or Garrett. And we must draft multiple DL guys and pray one hits. Obviously I have little faith in Beane and his scouts, defensively.

And there lies the #1 problem. McD can take a good player and turn him into a good player. Reid takes a good player and turns him into a GREAT player. All of our coaches (McD, Brady, Babich, Smiley) are like children getting outcoached by grown ups. If our exact team was coached by KC's people, I guarantee you we'd have 2-3 championships. Sean is a good man and a nice dude, but don't kid yourself thinking he's ever getting Josh & Co to a SB.
-
Looking at some mocks I see alot of Harmon or Grant @ 30. Even saw a couple trade ups for Luther Burden III (WR/ Mizzou). Maybe JTT as a possible edge rusher? If Revel falls to us, I think Sean would run to the podium. Also Nolen is in the mix too. Those are the key positional areas!

Wide Receiver Train Full Speed Ahead- CHOO CHOO!

Other than maybe BJ Hill, there's not much available in FA. Hill would cost you 8-9/ yr. We gotta take advantage of a deep DT draft and get a couple monsters. -

Even that decision we kinda screwed up. Could you imagine having Justin Jefferson instead of Diva Diggs from 2020- 2024? I was one of them and obviously I gave our regular season victory way too much value. The Chiefs are alot like the Kobe Lakers. They can cruise into the playoffs, then they flip this massive switch where their coaches & players just dominate. -
Absolutely love all these ideas except Cooper @ 3yrs. I'm not paying him to be a decoy which is basically what he was. I'm letting Rousseau & AJE walk after next season. Extend Josh, Cook & Shakir. If Myles becomes too expensive (pick wise), call the Raiders for Mad Maxx. And pray we hit on DE/ DT this April.
-
Our top priority is pass rusher. All resources must be spent here. I don't trust Beane drafting an elite DE, so we better be prepared to offer a trade with the Raiders for Maxx. He's still young and a proven commodity. Our 2nd priority is a monster DT in the 320-340 range. Maybe a diamond that turns into a Chris Jones or at least Kyle Williams. The 3rd priority is a speed WR who can stretch the field. I'm not sure we're keeping Cooper? I'm not sure Coleman will ever separate? These are the top 3 priorities. I wouldn't be upset if we drafted 2 from each position. Once the DL is improved, you won't be as dependent on pro bowl dbs. 4th & 5th priority is CB then Safety. If we shore up these 5 critical positions, we'll be on track to attack KC again.

Another stupid strategy...let's rotate a bunch of Jags so the Jags stay fresh. Did he learn this crap in Carolina?

Hard to beat the Chiefs and the refs every post-season
LABILLBACKER replied to ChronicAndKnuckles's topic in The Stadium Wall
I said 3 hours before the game we didn't stand a chance. We had a good enough team to beat them. But the marketing gods were not on our side. Mahomes is in every commercial. Reid and Kelce also have multiple commercials. Mama Kelce, Taylor Swift and her 150million followers. Even the SB logo is in KC colors. We didn't stand a chance......... Maybe after they're handed this 3 peat and Travis & Tay ride off in the sunset. Then and only then might we be considered for the same type of favoritism that KC/ NE have enjoyed. It just sucks that the entertainment/ revenue angle of the NFL takes precedence over competitive fairness. -
He'll get cut June 1st. Makes the most sense.

Thank you....someone who's glass isn't half full while wearing rose colored glasses. We have exactly 1 elite player on this team...17 and that's it. Cook is approaching that status very quickly. Dion & Spencer are good tackles but hardly elite. We have no elite WR'S or TE'S. Milano was the closest defensive player to elite but constant injuries have ended that narrative. Oliver, Rousseau Benford, Taron and Bernard are good but not great. The rest of our defense are just rotational Jags. We don't need elite players at LB or DB, but for McD's scheme to work, he must have at least 1 elite player on the DL.

Name me 1 new clever play Brady implemented for this game. Nothing
-
I'm just shocked Brady didn't call another tush push on 4th & 5. 7th time is a charm.
-
I'd have that same stare too if my players and coaches were constantly failing me in support. He knows the Bills history. He knows the weight of all Western NY is on his shoulders. I guarantee you even his coaches expect him to " just go out and make a play" rather than scheming up better plays to support him. Those failed tush pushes were a testament to how weak our coaching is. Throw in his fellow players not stepping up ( besides Cook, Hollins) and that stare is more than justified.

It Goes Back to 13 Seconds, Doesn't It?

I'd rank him 13th behind all those guys. He's a better HR administrator than he is a game day coach. -

LABILLBACKER replied to st pete gogolak's topic in The Stadium Wall
It's too late. The window landing Ben Johnson / Jim Schwartz is over. I don't even trust Brady taking over this team. So basically like so many fans, I have to psychologically convince myself that winning 12 games every year and a playoff win is the pinnacle. We will hoist our Schotty trophy to the sky every year. -
It Goes Back to 13 Seconds, Doesn't It?
LABILLBACKER replied to st pete gogolak's topic in The Stadium Wall
Yes, 13 seconds was a coaching abomination and gave us a little peek through the looking glass. McDermott makes the same mistakes Levy did. The only difference is Marv had multiple HOF players to screw up. McDermott has the greatest Bills qb we're ever going to see in our lifetime to screw up. In critical high leverage games, the coaching across the field is always better. It's just too exhausting to be a Bills fan. And I'll never be able to convince the stubborn McD supporters to actually see what's right in front of their face. It's pointless.... -
Not using James Cook on final drive a head scratcher

Then teach his ass how to block. He had 21 tds this season. Develop your damn players or get out. -

Staratore, Blandino, Nantz, Romo all agreed he got the 1st. I think it's safe to say that every fanbase besides KC feel this way. This "gentle massaging" of games has been going on since the start of Brady's career.
