There’s a lot of other factors in play with Florida. The over 65 age group is mostly vaccinated but the 12-64 age group percentage is one of the worst in the country. Top 3 I believe. Then you have to assume that most visiting right now are unvaccinated, since no one in their right mind would go there right now. Everyone knows what they’ve been doing with their counts but let’s put that aside for a minute. How many people traveled to Florida, got Covid on the first day, gave it to 100 other people, some residents and some not, then left a week later? We need Florida to be better. They’ve been a massive super-spreader event for well over a year now. They aren’t just killing themselves. They’re killing people all around the country. We really should’ve given Florida it’s own separate stimulus(ppp, UI, etc.) so they could safely shut down but DeSantis would’ve taken that money and spent it somewhere else. It’s been clear from the start that they value their precious retail/hospitality economy over human life, and what’s happening now isn’t a surprise to anyone. It’s 100 percent political at this point. No one that travels to Florida or lives in Florida cares about the well-being of Florida. It’s a transient state, and someone should’ve stepped in to save it much sooner.

Agree. I was asking some of you about this a week ago. It just doesn’t make sense that we still have absolutely no plan to keep these schools open.

I would just wait. It will probably be free by then. No one goes to those games. It’s like going to a St. Pete Devil Rays game 15 years ago. Parking is probably more than the ticket. You won’t have any problem getting in that game the day of. Maybe I’ll see you there. It isn’t worth worrying about this early as far as tickets. I would wait to see if both QB’s are playing in that game first.

The Jim Clyburn endorsement before the SC primary. It changed the entire race overnight. The shady part of those primaries was when Deval Patrick jumped in the race before the Massachusetts primary. Biden AND Bernie wanted that to happen because they wanted to knock Warren out of the race. They put a total hitjob on Warren.

Biden had a much bigger, solid lead than Hillary did. That race was stuck there for an entire year. There wasn’t anything Trump could do to move those numbers. The suburbs were done with him. Why would you think that a laptop that belonged to a candidate’s son would move the race in the final weeks? That was always really stupid. That was just a pathetic Hail Mary attempt. We saw normal tightening down the stretch. Nothing that indicated Trump was actually closing the gap.

Yup. Biden was going to beat him even without Covid. His lead didn’t move the entire time. People made up their mind very early. That was the easiest campaign Dems will ever run. I assume that’s why Biden jumped in. Pennsylvania was never going to go Trump’s way. The GOP doesn’t run on ideas anymore.

If anyone cares, since the vaccine came out, urbanization and density really tell the story. NJ has high urbanization so they could spread it more easily, but as the state vaccinated, it won’t be nearly as disastrous as Florida, who has a lower urbanization rate but higher density. Florida was less likely to spread the virus, but since no one got vaccinated, that advantage was squandered and will end up with more deaths by a large margin. When you compare other states, it starts to paint a pretty clear picture.
