Devin Singletary - Will he be playing for the Bills this year?
Logic replied to Estro's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yes. Moss and Singletary will be the primary ball carriers this year, and will be effective. Giving up on third round picks after two seasons hasn’t been the M.O. of this front office. PARTICULARLY when the player showed a lot of promise in one of those years. Motor gonna prove some people wrong this year, methinks.- 114 replies

I think just the Seahawks are left at this point?

Totally facetious. I have no actual opinion about this man. -

Cowboys, Browns, Raiders please

I have a feeling that Beane and co know that this is a high priority. I expect them to draft a true 1T in the early to middle rounds. They don’t seem like the types to just HOPE for anything from a certain player. An in-shape Star and a fully recovered and healthy Harrison Phillips will make a big difference, but I still expect them to look to the future at the position.

Schein - Nine Make-or-Break players for 2021 (Ed Oliver)
Logic replied to wppete's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Agreed. However, two things: 1.) Several people were, in fact, making the argument that he needs a good 1T next to him, right here in this thread. 2.) Even when he HAS had the chance to play 3T — because, let’s be honest, it’s not like he didn’t get the chance to do it a decent amount in 2020 — he has been inconsistent and hasn’t had the game-wrecking impact his talent would suggest he can. In any case, the three biggest potential improvements to our defense would all come from young, highly drafted players making big leaps: Oliver, Epenesa, Edmunds. I view this coming season as a referendum on Oliver and Edmunds, in particular. If they make the jump, it transforms our defense. If they don’t, then the Bills will have tough decisions to make regarding contract extensions. -
Schein - Nine Make-or-Break players for 2021 (Ed Oliver)
Logic replied to wppete's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
As was pointed out to me: Kyle Williams never needed a great 1T next to him in order to shine. He was paired with nothing but crap for much of his career. He still made plays. And he was a fifth rounder! I’d love a great 1T, too, but it’s not a valid excuse for Oliver to not wreak the havoc he’s capable of. 2021 is a HUGE year for Oliver. If he (and Epenesa, for that matter) take big steps, it could be enough to fix our pass rush issues. -
I think I saw a Jacoby Stevens mention somewhere in this thread already, but another mid to late round option I like is Jamien Sherwood out of Auburn. 6’2”, 220 lbs. Seems to have that tweener skill set. Can cover and hit. Not sure what round he’ll go in, but I doubt he’ll break the bank.

I hope we get a Big Nickel just so I never have to read another post or article or listen to another podcast about it. End the madness! 😆

I was solidly on the “draft Malik Hooker!” Train the year he came out. If I’m not mistaken, it’s solely injuries that have held him back so far. If he’s willing to play for what the Bills can afford to pay (a Pop Tart and some crayons), I’d love to sign him. Still has a ton of potential and only 25 years old.

Josh Allen on 10 Questions with Kyle Brandt TOMORROW
Logic replied to Seasons1992's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Josh Allen is a very likable, intelligent, well spoken, funny, engaging guy. Between that and his exciting style of play, I will be shocked and disappointed if he doesn't become a big national star and get endorsement deals and the whole nine yards. He has "superstar" and "face of the league" written all over him. -

This reminds me of the Quinton Spain signing. A late in the offseason, low cost move that no one thinks much of, and then he winds up claiming a starting spot. Not saying Lamp will end up a starter (though that RAS is titillating), but...

People who complain about ads on free sites are the worst. You don’t want to pay to use the site, you don’t want to see ads, sooo.....just how exactly is the site supposed to stay up and running? Running a quality site/forum is not free! As if clicking the little “x” on ONE ad is a day ruining deal breaker. 🙄

Jets' draft ammo is crazy right now
Logic replied to Inigo Montoya's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'm not disputing that. This current Browns team isn't what I'm talking about, though. I'm talking pre Andrew Berry. Pre John Dorsey. Talking about the Sashi Brown "Moneyball" days. -
Jets' draft ammo is crazy right now
Logic replied to Inigo Montoya's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Interesting stuff. Thanks. Ever since I saw the Browns accumulate the biggest pile of draft picks the football world has ever seen and then promptly waste all of them a few years back...I'm less "wowed" by teams accumulating draft picks. Showing that they actually know how to USE the picks, and then developing and retaining those players...Now THAT will be impressive. -
Darnold is 100% gonna turn his career around now that he has good coaching and a supporting cast. We will have seen both the Dolphins AND Jets trade away good quarterbacks that were ruined/wasted by Adam Gase, only to see said quarterbacks become quality starters elsewhere. Ya hate to see it, but then again.....ya love to see it.

Who is the one player you DON’T want the Bills to draft @30
Logic replied to NewEra's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I don't want them to draft ANYONE at 30. I'd like them to trade down. I'd then like to see them use the accrued picks to trade around and back up a time or two, ultimately winding up with 4-5 picks in the top 100, as opposed to drafting 7 or 8 players. I'm not one of these obsessive "trade down every year!" guys, but I feel like now is a perfect moment in the Bills build to accrue some cheap, impactful labor. Further, 30 is a great spot to trade down from, because the hope is that some team or teams want to get back up into the end of the 1st round in order to secure that 5th year option for a player they covet. -
Respectfully, this view represents a gross oversimplification. Just as one example: Suppose Harris helps the Bills to convert short yardage situations, thus keeping the offense on the field. If Harris runs for 3 yards on 3rd and 2 to give the Bills a new set of downs, and then on 1st down, Allen heaves a 50 yard touchdown pass....well...Harris directly contributed to that outcome. Here's another: Josh Allen was ALREADY one of the top play-action quarterbacks in football last year. Imagine how much MORE effective he could be in that regard with a running attack that actually threatened defenses. Furthermore, Harris has the speed to turn the corner, and can contribute in the passing game, too. I'm not on team "draft a running back in the 1st round", by any means. I'm fine if they do and I'm fine if they don't. I trust the front office. But painting Harris is an old-school power plodder that would "slow down our explosive offense" is just not fair or accurate, in my opinion.
