  1. it’s still going up. Fast. This is better than porn.
  2. Trubisky DOES seem more natural in 9 than 8, now that you mention it. My favorites, aside from Ford changing, which I already mentioned (and I'll get back to him in a minute)... Matt Breida - 22. This is what the universe wants. I don't know what else to say. Jacob Hollister - 80. Yes. I look forward to having Derek Schouman flashbacks. Efe Obada - 93. Just the perfect number for a DE/DT tweener. Worst: Jamil Douglas - 77. That's a tackle number. Jake Fromm - 4. Just cut him now. Jake Kumerow - 15. 87 was great. He ***** up. Numbers that draft picks should get instead of the people wearing them now: 81, 90, 28 (our new CB2), 15 (our new YAC receiver. You can't have a fast, little shifty dude with a number in the 80s. Its outrageous). As for Ford...I was trying to think of who might have had his college number when he was drafted, and I could only come up with LaAdrian Waddle. Could that by why he didn't take #74 in his rookie year? Out of deference to the vet? In any case, if it turns him from zero to hero, I'm all for it. Oh, and Bobby Hart wearing 68 is cool, because that's a stupid number for a tackle, and it solidifies the fact that he's gonna get cut.
  3. In the interest of keeping this draft moving along so that we can get it finished up by Memorial Day, I'll just make my pick immediately. This draft's already got more trades than Carter's got pills, anyway. With the 44th pick in the TSW Mock Draft, The Dallas Cowboys select Jevon Holland, DB, Oregon Our defense couldn't stop a nosebleed last year. We brought in Dan Quinn to right the ship, and drafted Jaycee Horn in the 1st round to bolster our pass defense. However, our starting safeties are set to be Damontee Kazee and Donovan Wilson. If you just said "What in the hell is a Damontee Kazee?!" or "didn't Donovan Wilson play at Woodstock?", you're not alone. Our safety pairing scares nobody. Holland provides positional versatility, as he can function as a traditional safety or a big nickel/slot corner. He's a versatile, playmaking chess piece. With Trevon Diggs, Jaycee Horn, and now Jevon Holland in the fold, we feel we have infused our secondary with exciting playmaking ability. Defensive tackle was a consideration, but we like the depth of that class and feel we can find contributors in the third round. Offensive tackle was also considered, but Tyron Smith and La'el Collins will both be returning form injury, and we brought in giant mountain-sized space alien Ty Nsekhe via free agency to hold down the fort in case either isn't ready for opening day. @NewEra and the future London Jaguars are now on the clock.
  4. Well, @whatdrought.....what d'ya think? Best ? Worst ? I'll start by saying that Cody Ford switching to his college #74 is going to turn his career around.
  5. I wish I could shout the bolded part from a megaphone during any and all Tremaine Edmunds debates. I do not think that most fans understand the overall effect Edmunds has on the pass defense, just by virtue of his height, speed, and wingspan. It's not something statistically quantifiable. Even by watching the All-22, it wouldn't be easy to discern what type of effect Edmunds has on each passing play without also knowing what the opposing QB's primary reads were, and what his thought process was as the play unfolded. I also think -- and I have no proof of this, it's just a feeling I have -- that McDermott and Frazier will take the trade-off of Edmunds being just average against the run and in terms of physicality, so long as he can continue to affect/disrupt the passing game in the way that he usually does. The thing that bugs me just a little bit about Edmunds is that while he is often IN POSITION to make game-changing interceptions, he doesn't often make them. It seems like we are always seeing him JUST miss interceptions -- bobbling, double catching, seeming surprised/flustered. If he could simply turn some of those "almost interceptions" into ACTUAL interceptions and continue to work on being more physical at the point of contact, he'd ascend to "elite" status.
  6. Agreed. I think the Dolphins SHOULD pick a right tackle and kick big ol' Robert Hunt into RG. But taking two tackles? I don't see how that would make any sense whatsoever, unless the value was just too great to ignore.
  7. Yeah, looking back through this thread, I see you suggested it first. It was the right suggestion. Eagles desperately need to rebuild their entire o-line, but especially the interior. Dickerson is a great value here. Slam dunk.
  8. With the 37th pick in the TSW Mock Draft, the Philadelphia Eagles select Landon Dickerson, OL, Alabama Easy pick. Value meets need, as we desperately need to rebuild our interior OL. @Just Joshin' is on the clock.
  9. Id be happy to. Let’s get this show on the road.
  10. Rachel Bush, socialism, communism, China, sheep, compliance pretzels, HIPAA, Kelly Clarkson! ....just trying to speed this thing along toward its natural conclusion.
  11. I'll just copy and paste what I already said in this thread: It would seem to rule out an offensive lineman and, arguably, a developmental pass rusher. It would seem instead to point to a cornerback, receiver, running back, or linebacker instead. The term "playmaker" as it relates to the draft usually refers to adding some electricity, some speed, some home run threat, a turnover-creator, something like that. So it sort of DOES narrow things down a bit, in my opinion. In an offseason in which many here are penciling in an edge rusher to the Bills, Miller's take would seem to call that idea into question. It obviously doesn't completely rule out a big man with pick #30, but typically the term "playmaker" is not used to describe, say, a guard, tackle, or developmental edge rusher.
  12. Wait a minute. I tuned out for a minute and came back to see that the Chiefs GM passed on an offensive tackle?! Even with Teven Jenkins still on the board?!
  13. Whichever one has us taking my draft crush of the moment. Just kidding. The Draft Network, Matt Miller, Dane Brugler, Ben Standig, Benjamin Albright. As someone mentioned already, going to the Mock Draft Database and just looking over the whole variety of mock drafts available. Some years, everyone mocks the same player to the Bills. This year, picks are all over the map. That's a symptom of picking so late and of having a good overall roster with very few crying needs.
  14. As I previously pointed out in this thread: It would seem to rule out an offensive lineman and, arguably, a developmental pass rusher.
  15. You left out the part where they're paying $10 million for a chronically injured player who has less sacks than Mario Addison the past three years.
  16. First of all: Kudos on the super original jab at my screen name. No one has ever said that before!!!!!! Look, everyone knows that there are smokescreens and disinformation leading up to draft season. Everyone ALSO knows that it absolutely IS possible to glean legitimate intel about which way teams are leaning. A few analysts knew with certainty and insisted for weeks that the Bills were all in on Josh Allen. It was known by everyone that they loved Ed Oliver. Yes, the Bills run a tight ship. No, it's not an impenetrable steel trap of information. The idea that absolutely nothing of value can be taken from all of the pre-draft rumors is silly. Conversely, to assume that ALL pre-draft rumors are true is also silly. The job of us fans -- and remember, this is all just for fun, because sports are supposed to be fun -- is to look over the whole basket of rumors and decide what we think is true and what we think is false. I suppose that you could just automatically assume that EVERYTHING is false and that it's 100% impossible for anyone to know anything before the draft, but I think that's naive, and I think that history has proven it false. Also, where's the fun in that? Because, again: following sports is supposed to be FUN! At least that's how I feel about it, "BillsVet".
  17. I will say that McDermott and Daboll seem to be constantly self-scouting, constantly trying to improve at what they do. Both have improved as coaches each year that they've been here. Neither seem too proud to admit that something isn't working or to try to do things differently.
  18. Clowney had zero sacks last year. He has 12 sacks in the last three years COMBINED. He has played a full 16-game season just ONCE in his seven year career. I have never seen such an overhyped player in my life. He's still making a living off of one amazing college play and a really cool name.
  19. Yeah. He doesn't seem to offer much short area quickness, but his long speed is unreal. Defensive coordinators already have their hands full with Diggs, Sanders, Beasley, Davis. Add in a guy with Schwartz' speed? Yikes. There he is! This week's "It's all a smokescreen" guy! I knew he'd show up in this thread eventually!
  20. I'm still combing through old mocks and articles on Miller's website. As I was going through his "7 days, 7 rounds" series, I saw him make the following picks in the first three rounds for the Bills: Round 1: RB Travis Etienne Round 2: CB Eric Stokes Round 3: WR Anthony Schwartz I know that a running back in the first round upsets a lot of people around here, but for me? The idea of adding the speed and "instant offense" that Etienne and Schwartz would bring while ALSO still getting an athlete like Stokes at CB2? That would be a home run. Also, the recent Cover 1 video showing the Bills moving to more of an outside zone running scheme has me wondering if they ARE, in fact, taking a long look at Etienne. Miller describes him as the ideal angle-busting, one-cut-and-go, outside zone runner, and compares him to Dalvin Cook. Anway....draft season is fun.
  21. Thanks. I've been spending the morning combing through the site, pondering whether or not to subscribe once my guest pass expires. I already pay for The Athletic, where Dane Brugler just released his annual "the Beast" draft guide, which is great. I'm willing to pay for good journalism and quality content, and Miller certainly provides that. In reading past Bills nuggets from Miller, I saw him say that he believes the Bills would be "all over" Elijah Moore if he fell to them. Thought that was interesting, too. Oh, and @Reed83HOF : That was an excellent addition to this thread. Thank you!
  22. I suppose, but I also think it rules out an offensive lineman and perhaps a developmental edge rusher, as well. He also suggests a yards-after-catch WR and a three-down RB as being likely possibilities at that spot, which not many in Bills fan land are forecasting at the moment
  23. Why does Rachel Bush always seem to be the butt of the joke?
