You have that good of a QB eye where you can say Lamar will be better a better QB than Taylor? Both are athletic QB's, Both have trouble reading defense's, Both have poor field vision, Both have happy feet, both are not accurate passers, Both will take off and run first before trying to make a play passing the football.
I think all the QB's In this draft are over hyped with exception of Mayfield.
I wouldn't rely on just my eye. Taylor was drafted in the 6th round.

Are Lamar Jacksons family members logging on to team message boards to hype him up? Seems like it's happening on a ton of boards with new posters pushing their Jackson propaganda. I'm sorry to tell them that he's dropping into the late 2nd or 3rd rd where he should be.

Go ahead and collect your free money. +250 is a pretty good longshot, nice payout.

Not going to happen, the Jets will take him at 3 and look like fools.
All that matters in the long run is the outcome. If Rosen somehow falls past 4 I hope the price comes down enough to make a move.

really? he hasn't even set one foot on NFL turf and he is already better than Vick?
this might just be slightly dilussional
According to Vick himself. Although I do take that with a grain of salt, but that is likely where the narrative is coming from

I think the Dolphins may want Mayfield.
Definitely heard Arizona may like him. I know (newly retired) Bruce Arians supposedly loves him.
I think the trade with Cincy happened for multiple reasons. But... Could part of the reason be that Beane wanted to trade up in front of Arizona? (Although I think that is likely even if Jackson isn't the target, simply because Arizona is definitely in the QB market).
There is so much uncertainty in the draft order. IMO Mayfield is going to the Jets at 3.
1. CLE - Darnold
2. NYG or Trade - Rosen
3. NYJ - Mayfield
4. CLE - Barkley
5. DEN - ???
6. IND - Chubb
From there it's harder to project.

I draft Roquan at 12 and monitor where Mayfield and Jackson slide. We have plenty of coin to trade up from 22 to say 16. And it won't cost anywhere as much as 12 to 2
My money is on Roquan being gone by 12 and Jackson by 15. I'm curious if the media perceptions will be clarified in the next month.
You can still get an over/under prop on Jackson which has him at like pick 31.5. The under was ~(-220), but still seems like free money to me

I am hoping we can get him at 22. After the big 4 are off the board- that leaves 18 selections before 22. There are many damn good football players outside the QB position- I think there is a shot Jackson slides that far. And didn't Vick go top 5? Jackson is better then VIck in his prime. I would be happy if we Jackson is a Bill
To me you either like him and get him 12 at the latest or don't draft him at all.

I could live with Jackson.. as long as we don’t have to trade up for him. Will he last until 12?
Dolphins could take him. I could see Arizona moving up to take him as well.

How enraged will Bills fans be if the Bills trade up to 5 and take him? I would love to see the reactions!

The question is, how drunk are we talking?
If it's jumping on tables drunk, then they don't count.
But dildo throwing drunks will be tough to surpass... Those are the best thinkers in this league.
Someone has to look to move things forward. We can't just stay where we have always been and seek comfort. We must challenge ourselves to drink more.

Laziest comparison I have ever seen. Just terrible.
Look, Jackson may not be a top prospect or turn into anyhting special in the NFL, but to compare him to Taylor because he is black and can run is lazy. The guy has more pocket presence, vision, arm talent, and throwing ability than Taylor could ever dram of having. On top of that, as good of an athlete is Taylor is, Jackson is even a better athlete as well.
I am not sure if Jackson will ever be good in the NFL, but to compare him to Taylor is awful. Taylor, as a passer, is one of the worst pure passers in the history of the league.
Let's not forget the nearly 3" difference in height either. There is a reason Taylor always left the pocket or held on for dear life.

Kind of like telling the whole of the board that they "don't know squat"?
I mean the vast majority of us are amateurs and rely to some extent on the media, who are mostly amateurs. I think that is his point.

If Josh Allen falls to 12 take him if not take Lamar Jackson. At 22 take a LB keep all our other picks and build. I’m ok with AJ McCarron starting at QB first game of the season.
If by some wizardry Roquan falls past the Raiders, it will be a very hard decision to pass on him at 12.

On one hand, his accuracy has improved every year since he started.
On the other hand, can we please just get a damn pocket passer?
This is the complaint that I get most frustrated with. He mostly passes the ball from the pocket. He is not in the vein of Tyrod Taylor who prefers to scramble outside of the pocket and throw on the run. He either passes from the pocket or sprints forward like a RB on designs.

So what you're saying is you'd rather tank ?
AJ is likely to start over either of them anyhow. And we should have a nice tank in store for 2018, depending on how quickly this picks all pan out and how many we retain.

I said this in another thread. My gut feeling all along had been the Bills love Lamar Jackson. When they moved up to 12, I switched to thinking they are trading up again. After the Jets trade to 3, I believe my gut feeling was right. The Bills moved up to 12 for Jackson. Another trade up to get Roquan Smith would be amazing.
Agreed, but it would be costly. The 49ers and Raiders are both likely to be giving heavy consideration to a LB prospect.

Tyrod was great at the long ball too. Pass.
From the pocket? He can't see remember?

Not even going to get into the talent disparity between Wyoming and Louisville, you know - the excuse we always hear for Lamar when comparing him to the top prospects this year.
You guys really need to stop with this adjusted completetion % ****. I've never heard that excuse so much in my entire life until this season.
We'll see what the league thinks about who the better prospect is. Then we'll see who has the better career.
Quotes talent disparity, and then complains about adjusted completion %. Yeah, so you don't know what you are talking about. Our exchange can stop here and we will wait on your last sentence.
For everyone else, the offensive talent Jackson had to work with at Louisville relative to the defensive competition he was facing is way worse than the same measure for Wyoming.

Not a pocket passer. Not good at scanning the field. Poor accuracy.
He is a pocket passer. He is actually atrocious at throwing outside of the pocket due to his mechanics.

You seem offended? Want to talk about it?
You seem dense. I don't feel the need to talk about it further. Move on. You post stupid comments, you may get a response challenging your stupid assertion. Call it a joke afterwards, that's fine too. Why is it funny?

1 minute ago, Bangarang said:
What does Allen have to do with anything? And why did you take that joke so seriously?
You say that as if the "joke" isn't being thrown around in the media and on here pretty much every time Jackson is brought up.

Just now, Chicken Boo said:
No. He's not.
More productive, infinitely more athletic, better adjusted completion percentage, better adjusted YPA, better level of competition in college, more pro-ready offense, and made large improvements from 2016 to 2017. Josh Allen on the other hand regressed and had a bad year at Wyoming.

If the Bills drafted Watson last year this discussion wouldn’t be happening. You remember Watson, the guy who fell to number 12 in the draft, third QB taken. His skill set won’t transfer to the NFL.
Who is that, does he play wide receiver?
