Is this trade-off fair to both us and Miami?
We play in Miami early, but it’s a night game. Break for us.
Miami plays in Buffalo in early Nov. break for them.
I also really like having the first week 2 Thursday game (hopefully we have the week 1 game next season). We got much more time to prepare during pre season. And can strongly reassess after week 2 with some play time make serious adjustments.
We have the advantage since our defense took a half off to prepare for the short week

Truly terrible. This like when we play KC in the playoffs and they just score every drive. Only it's the ***** Cards.
It's good practice for Josh until they fire the coach and front office in entirety. He will have to be perfect and not turn the ball over. We know they will be wet ***** in the playoffs on defense so may as well start simulating that early

I don’t really understand Von and Knox taking pay cuts. What leverage do the Bills have in this scenarios? They can’t really cut these guys due to the dead cap. Why do the players say yes?
I think we all focus on cap figures because we care about team composition, but a lot of that money is already paid out up front to these players.
The players are interested in receiving as much cash earnings going forward as possible, whether by a new increase in bonus/upfront cash to be amortized down the road, or just remaining on the team to collect base salary amounts. Their ability to receive new guaranteed money from other teams influences their leverage. When play has declined, they become more amicable to altering the terms
Their dead cap number doesn't mean all that much to them is my understanding. That's all old news (old money) to them

At least that monetary investment means the defense doesn't get stomped every single time they play a good QB in the playoffs to the point where it feels like the game is lost if the Bills have to punt a few times in a half.
Oh wait

A head coach known for losing superbowls leading a team known for losing superbowls. Imagine what could be accomplished

Can’t wait to hear the whining about McDermott’s puppet. Go!
Can't wait until he gets fired after a failed punt or something lol

Like it or not Jackson has 2 MVPs, which should put him at the top of the group. Now, I still don't think he's an elite passer, which keeps him in line with those that are, but there's no credible argument to put Allen above hima t this point. The only limited argument you'd have for Burrow is 1 Sb appearance, and I'm not sure that does it either.
I think having eyes would be the main justification

I guess no choice but go niners in superbowl.
It's like the Brady years. Just take the cash on the Chiefs and look the other direction.

this sucks. the chiefs are going to win another super bowl.
Wonder what the line will be. Brady and Mahomes have been my most successful QBs on profit and I hate both of them

OK Goff doesn't run for the sticks, Purdy does. That's making the difference now.
He's about as mobile as Tom Brady with an anchor

Don't love this playcalling
Disagree, I feel theyve had consistently great options and they can't execute

man greg olsen is openly rooting for the niners. annoying listening to him call the game like this because he wants his buddy to go to the super bowl.
He's just not good at it in general IMO

Allen has been incredible in the post season but he’d be roasted alive if he had a game like Lamar did today.
Allen gets roasted alive playing nearly perfect games. It's the most frustrating aspect of this team underachieving.

The amount of people putting Lamar Jackson in front of Burrow is mind blowing.

Lamar is basically the McD of QB's, so I get it
Exactly. As long as the game is in the regular season you are feeling good.

We played SO much better than the Ravens even with a MASH unit on defense. The Ravens were never really in this game from start to finish. Embarrassing showing from the 1 seed at home. Terrible game for Lamar.
Certainly not on defense. Two different universes there

The Ravens will never win a SB with Lamar Jackson. He is not a high end enough passer to win a title
Would have been competitive a decade or so ago. I'm not sure it's possible to just ride a defense to a Superbowl any more unless there is a large regression in the passing game. Even undead 70 year old Tom Brady offered more than Lamar is here

What we do against the Bengals can't even be called a defense.

The Chiefs have 17 at halftime against the best defense in the league. This is starting to look like a beat down. Ravens should fire Harbaugh, I guess. He has thrown away two MVP Lamar seasons in the last five years. The Ravens can't possess the ball against a good defense like the Chiefs have. Lamar's track record is pretty much the QB edition of the McDermott show in the playoffs.
The Bills offense dominated time of possession and the defense couldn't even slow down the next Chiefs touchdown to the point where it would take more than 3 minutes. How many times did they even get to 3rd down? It's not comparable

I don’t know… watching this Ravens/Chiefs game. We were an even somewhat healthy defense away from being the AFC champs. The Ravens look like inferior team here, at home, and it’s not really close.
I have no confidence in the McDermott playoff defense against a good coach & QB even if everybody was healthy. I sympathize this year with the depletion and in isolation I think it would be perfectly acceptable to have a bad defensive performance, but they've been gutted with little resistance every time they've played Mahomes/Burrow in January for nearly half a decade now

Not For Long League is always difficult. Have to enjoy the elite positional groups while it lasts. I still miss that line with Mario Williams, Kyle Williams, rookie contract Dareus and Jerry Hughes.
Going to be really difficult when it's time for Josh to cross the bridge.

I am not happy with this regime and obviously this move did not work out, but the process made sense. They came to the conclusion that the only way to beat Mahomes is to sack him…play coverage and rush 4…that was the plan and it failed because Von got hurt. So here we are. That is still likely the way to beat him.
That off season the best offensive free agents on the market were Christian Kirk, Allen Robinson and Evan Engram.
Kirk has been really good when healthy and Engram has been excellent. Allegedly we were in on those guys and they went to Jacksonville. Robinson was a big bust who got cut after one year.
So again, signing an elite pass rusher coming off a Super Bowl win made a ton of sense at the time, it just hasn’t worked out because of the injury.
May have gotten hurt, in part, because he's 100 years old

Stick with the game plan here....dont go all hero ball josh.
I would like to see a first down pass at some point to avoid predictablity

This is what McD defenses do in the playoffs every single season. People are acting like injuries are the only reason for this.
This one is tough because it's hard to imagine any coach doing much with whats left in this matchup. Generally inclined to agree
