  1. I do find it interesting that a “TROLL/HATER” is the person who would have been right back in August.
  2. I had my own thread in the beginning of the season on this board questioning exactly that. what would teams with High Drafted Rookie QBs do that were saddled with Defensive Minded Head Coaches? The trend had been that in order to SAVE the young QB a OffensivevMinded HC needed to be brought in. With Rams and Bears as prime examples. I figured the Browns and Jets were show ins to try for it. Didn’t think Arizona would do it (although looks like they got smart) and Buffalo never moves fast on these things so I immediately elimated them from trying it.
  3. Allen gets 2019 to show it. Sorry, but the NFL is fast moving and if the Bills want to sit at the Big Boy Table then they need to start to hold their own franchise to standards/Expectations/Accomplishments of the other teams around the league. Year 2 Carson Wentz - NFL MVP Candidate. 33 TDs/7Ints. 11-2 Record NFC EAST champs Jared Goff - 28 TDs from 5 as rookie. 11-4 Record NFC West Champs Mitchell Trubisky - 10-3 Record...24TDs from 7 as a Rookie NFC North Champs Patrick Mahomes -NFL MVP candidate. 48 TDs. 11-4 Record. Same goes for Coach McDermott. Sub-.500 Coach entering his 3rd Season. Use cap space and draft and take a BIG jump in 2019. time is running out.
  4. Looking at the games, the media rumblings and potential outcome to the Eagles season was just thinking to myself That one of those QBs (Wentz/Foles) is going to be the AFC EAST in 2019. Was thinking more Miami though
  5. It would be a great time to re-examine Allen’s Scouting Reports that were being released Pre-Draft. Just to see what the evaluators were seeing as his Pros and Cons coming into the league agaisnt where he is after his first season.
  6. What sounds more pleasurable to you? Trip back to Lucas Oil Field and get a little pay back for the embarrassment Luck put on the defense this season? Or slide on down to Nissan Stadium to do battle with the “How do they even have close to a playoff team” Tennessee Titans? much rather play Mariota over Luck anyday.
  7. One has the potential to be a scalpel One has the potential to be a hammer
  8. Sub .500 Head Coach entering 3rd season. Give him next season.
  9. McDermott will enter his 3rd Season as a Sub .500 Head Coach. going to have to have it in season 3.
  10. October 30, 2016 Last time Buffalo scored an Offensive Touchdown against New England. They are due.
  11. First, why would I include Pederson? My examples were of Offensive Coaches who arrived in their QBs second season and saved both of them (Goff and Trubiskys) from going in the bust bin and have them playing at Playoff level caliber (hint...both teams already have their divisions wrapped up and a combined record of 32-12). Pederson if I recall and Wentz both arrived with the Eagles together. So it’s not like the Eagles brought in Pederson to SAVE Wentz. Second, I didn’t even mention Coach McDermott so exactly how is it a crusade against him? I said the best thing for Rosen and Darnold would be to get an Offensive Minded Head Coach. I am more convinced that having a strong defensive minded head coach is very important for Allen and this team right now. Plus...McDermott has had enough success to not even warrant any thought of coaching change right now. Come on now.
  12. Best thing for Rosen...and Darnold is for both teams to follow the trend and do what the Rams and Bears did. Remove your Defensive Minded and philosophical Head Coach and bring in the hottest, modern Offensive Minded Coach on the market. Ravens will be too successful to need a chance and Mayfield seemingly just has that IT factor which can carry him over any type of Coach. Rosen and Darnold would both benefit the most to get their own McVay or Nagy as son as possible. New OFfensive Minded HC, Hit on First 2 picks and use some FA $$$$ and things may look 180 this time next season. we shall see!
  13. Oh it was posted in another thread. best/worst defenses against the pass according to QB rating. They had Lions at 31st in the league. so yeah...one could say that. But I wouldn’t want you to take it personally. Everyone love Josh around here.
  14. I think he will be extremely polarizing if his game remains relatively similar to how it has been his college and rookie season in the NFL. There is enough mediocrity in this league that the type of QB Allen is shaping up to be, a BOOM/BUSTER, that with a good defense you will win your fair amount of games and at least be close enough in 4th Quarters where it’s coin flip time. So it’s importent for Buffalo to maintain that defense with Allen. (He’s going to have to prove he can be a gunslinger of the surgeon variety that can come back from 2-3 scores down before I beleive it.) But I suspect that when you look at Box scores Allen’s will look very similar to his entire career so far. Sub 60% completion and not many 300 yard games and hovering on the low end of points scored. THAT is when the fun debates and screaming at each other will really begin!
  15. Let’s just not repeat history and make another bad draft day decision by trading up for a WR to help our 2nd year QB. Learn from history.
  16. Sal is a romantic, and perfect for a LARGE Majority of the Fan Base. Jeremy is a realist and perfect for the folks that see Sports with a less Divinity approach. and yes...momentum is nonsense.
  17. I was just thinking, anytime someone uses the word “context” I just have to ask...who is your rooting interest in whatever side you are pushing for? ? one of the writers for the BN even brought up the point that Allen’s overall completion % dropped as s result of yesterday...BUT he slyly added you need “context”. One person could say in context that THE LIONS are the 2nd worst Defense against the pass. And going against such a bad defense the Bills offenses barley squeezes out 200 yards and a 50% completion percentage. That’s not very good, right? another could say the team is run by a rookie with literally no starting nfl talent on it. So to get what they got is a positive! Context! i am beginning to beleive ALLEN is going to be one of the most fascinating and polarizing QBs we have ever had in Buffalo and NFL. what I mean is...there is enough paradoy in the league and week to week, that his athleticism will be able to hero ball/power the team victories, BUT ALLEN seemingly being that boom/bust style of QB will always lead his critics back to his passing stats when the team loses games. it should make for amazing radio and message boArd debates!
  18. I would def pick the Saints myself. Brees and that offense in the DOME are just on another level when it’s rolling.
  19. So...are we all extremely confidently putting our money down on the Bears vs. Ravens Super Bowl?
  20. That is what was so intersting about today’s game. The teams energy, the fans noise, head coaches speech and player reactions after the game. you woudl think it was a good team beating another good team while getting ready for the playoffs. not sure if I’d call it embarrassing delusional or proudly encouraging. Probably somewhere in the middle.
  21. Sounds like a maddening receipt for some seriously inconsistent seasons. When it hits it’s amazing and when not hair pulling frustrating. sounds like talk talk radio and these boards would be amazing debating that for the next 4-5 seasons.
  22. I did what the writer said...and gave some consideration for Coach McDermott for Coach of the Year. After brief thought...Absolutley Not. Coach of the Year should easily be given to Matt Nagy.
  23. It is interesting though that the results and stat lines, nature of games and limited offense are all pretty much similar between 2017 and 2018 QBs. I guess what gets folks hyped is the assumption that things are just meant to develop greater. we shall see.
