Can the Charger's KO the Patriot's Next Week?
RalphWilson'sNewWar replied to PUNT750's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Rivers is 0-7 vs. Brady/Belichik Patriots are 8-0 at home in 2018/2019. So...either they are both due for change or status quo. -
Nick Foles Contract
RalphWilson'sNewWar replied to Hapless Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Just figure out which one will be a Dolphin next season. And then hope it’s NOT a Brees/River like Scenario all over again. Like Wentz shows up in Miami with some injuries that damage his rep/stock and then he pairs up with a Offensive Playcalling HC and they go on a two decade tear of AFC East. -
Sean McDermott’s Current Approval Rating
RalphWilson'sNewWar replied to BillyWhiteShows's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Defense Minded Coach whose offense has gone from 19 points per game to 16 points per game. He needs to figure out how to implement a philosophy which turns that trend around in 2019. -
“Win with defense...” ? Thats just something they tell fan baseswho DONT have Franchise QBs to make them feel they have a chance come every September. Learned that the hard way these past two decades in Buffalo.

Greg Rosenthal QB Index

One of the lingering effects of nearly 20 years of being an awful sports franchise. Left it’s fans so desperate for anything that anything that might even resemble being good to latched on with unhealthy grip. -

Players that make the mundane regularly...don’t end up with almost sub 50 completion percentages. Key plays at end outside of Miami...he did have the opportunity against the Jets at home. That ended in an INT. but he’s a rookie with a chance to improve! Bring on 2019. -

He sums it and my thoughts on Allen up pretty well. i think the really good QBs are able to: - make the mundane plays regularly - the key plays at end of games - Have ability to make WOW plays Allen has 1/3 so far. Let’s see where it goes in 2019. -
The past Five 1st Round QBs all led their teams to division titles in their second seasons. So it’s a pretty high bar for Mayfield, Darnold, Allen and Rosen. (Jackson off the hook for his Rookie Season). Obviously only Darnold or Allen can accomplish that in 2019 between the two of them. So I’m going to say the ceiling for 2019 is Division Title and the floor is Wild Card. Anything less than Wild Card such trigger a Seriosus re evaluation in the 2020 off season.

Bills fire ST Coach Danny Crossman
RalphWilson'sNewWar replied to Rubes's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
? no way. I’m as tough as they come. I’ve been taking Hits on this site and bb.com since the Flutie era. -
Can you say ‘No’ and it not be a negative thing? Because that’s how I feel. Allen basically brought his divisive hero ball from Wyoming along with his amazing big plays and poor Competion % to the NFL. He was exactly as advertised by the Scouting Reports. Pros and Cons. I try to not have opinions and just let the numbers and results tell me what is. So for me...nothing really has changed. Season 2 is where things need to change.

Bills fire ST Coach Danny Crossman
RalphWilson'sNewWar replied to Rubes's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
That would account for OL and ST like you say...but then WR Coach got a raw deal. IF we are to believe Beane. You can’t say the Bills have no talent at WR and Allen’s near sub 50% is on WR who can’t catch or get open and then turn around and fire the WR Coach. Buffalo WR were 6th in the league in separation this season BTW. Regardless though, I like trying to get better. I don’t like “Spin Talk”. Just pick one and have some conviction. Dont use lack of talent as an excuse in some areas and then ignore it in others. -

Don’t get me wrong. I like the switch up with coaches. What I found intersting is that Beane really sold me on the poor 6-10 was part of the plan due to salary cap restrictions and limited talent. I was really worried he believed that and everyone was going to get a pass on 2018. Man this place is filled with thin skinned vipers yeah? If it’s not 100% obvious gushing you really get the horns. ? -

Intersting. Beane puts 6-10 on him and part of the plan. Then three coaches get fired. Guess Terry isn’t as patient. -
Doing a quick Scan of QBs who have thrown for 4000. i am having trouble finding one that had a sub. 60 completion percentage. Admittedly I only looked through the bigger guns. Seeing as sub 60 has dogged Allen since Junior College I would say I don’t like his chances of 1.) Getting his % Up 8% in 2019 2.) Getting to 60% or better 3.) running that style of offense under Coach McDermott
-
The NFL moves fast. McDermott is under.500 Head Coach overall (15-17). Under .500 in the AFC EAST (4-8). One of the worst at Replay Challenges (1 for 10). under McDermott the Bills Offense went from 19 points per game in 2017 to 16 points per game in 2018. And his speciality is NOT on Offense so it’s not like we are looking to Him for ideas on fixing the offense. IMO 2019 will be McDermotts 3rd Season and Allen’s 2nd Season. AND IF YOU WANT to hold Buffalo to the bar/standard of other teams around the league then the pressure on MCDERMOTT and ALLEN is tremendous. I’m not sure I see a scenario where they both survive 2019 unless it ends in Playoffs.

Cards Reporter hearing Mike McCarthy to Browns
RalphWilson'sNewWar replied to Reed83HOF's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It does fulfill one of the needed requirements of pairing Baker with an Offensive Minded HC. Plus, Bakers Rookie contract should allow Browns to spend more in needed areas. i like it. i don’t love it...because I don’t trust McCRthy will be innovating. But at least he is from the proper side of the ball. -
Barnwell: Lessons Learned in 2018
RalphWilson'sNewWar replied to DCOrange's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The lesson: Be realistic about which elements of your team's play are likely to recur. During the offseason, fans often get hopeful about their team by counting on everything that went right to stay great while expecting everything that went wrong to improve. Great Lesson for Bills Fans from 2017/2018. When you go 9-7 to 6-10. 2017 so many fell in love with Defensive Turnovers and Haush Money. Both I would say were the primary reason the Bills were a 9 win team instead of where there actual play indicated they should be Round 5-6 wins. Now we saw in 2018 a more normal defensive output. Buffalo was still tops on Defense but without those turnovers the lack of Offense doomed the Bills. Plus the special teams kicking which swung several games in 2017 failed in 2018. So what is the lesson? Buffalo cannot average 16 points a game next season. It has to get over 20-21 points per game.
