Dolphins hire Reggie McKenzie
RalphWilson'sNewWar replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The reality is that Hue Jackson drove the Raiders into hell with his trades and salary cap mismanagement. McKenzie took over a team with no defense, no first round pick, Salary Cap Jail. It took McKensize a few seasons to crawl out (all Bills fans should appreciate that.) After being able to draft he complied a team that were super Bowl favorites before Carr broke his leg...then 2017 with more injuries. (I hope your not trying to minimize a QB playing with a FRACTURED SPINE) thats when Mark Davis fires everyone and undercuts McKenzie by hiring Gruden. McKenzie was a victim of meddling owners and slew of injuries/bad luck. -
Dolphins hire Reggie McKenzie
RalphWilson'sNewWar replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It shouldn’t be lost to the history books that In 2017...Carr was returning from his broken leg and then during the 2017 Season suffered a Back Fracture in Week 4, to which upon initial diagnosis was 2-6 weeks. He missed 1 and played through it the rest of the season. (Hind sight...not a great idea. BUT he had just signed the MEGA DEAL, and it smells like there was pressure to play even if he was physically compromised) Then there was Amari Cooper who had a foot issue and to this day the extent of his further injuries has never been revealed. But from quotes from other Raiders player...it was extenSive and play making debilitating. Which I think evidence now that Cooper is finally healthy he is lighting it up in Dallas. **Having several Hardcore Raider Fan friends...I’ve heard all about the lost season of 2017, several times at the bar** -
The Phantom Hold and why the NFL is dying

2001 - 4-12 2002 - 9-7 2003 - 6-10 2004 - 10-6 2005 - 6-10 2006 - 8-8 2007- 8-8 2008 - 8-8 2009 - 7-9 2010 - 5-11 2011 - 6-10 2012 - 7-9 2013 - 7-9 2014 - 9-7 2015 - 9-7 2016 - 7-9 2017 - 10-6 2018 - 7-9 What your seeing is the Bills Record had they SPLIT with New England every season. Which I feel is something most divisional rivals should be able to accomplish. what this shows me is that even by Buffalo being able to beat New England...they were rarely still ever a good enough team on their own to really matter in any serious conversation in the NFL. Its not New England or The Refs or Bad Luck...it’s Buffalo as a Franchise being inept for nearly all the 21st Century. -
I can actually answer this. Yes I would be saying that. Take the Titans game this season. One of the worst games to watch all season and that was a win. Now if you mean the actual Super Bowl...well...?

Super Bowl Ratings Hit 10-Year Low
RalphWilson'sNewWar replied to RalphWilson'sNewWar's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The only hope we really have for fellow Buffalo Fans to snap them out of this Defense Matters Crutch...is for Josh Allen to light it up in 2019. Only when Buffalo has an offense for the first time in the 21st Century...hopefully the old guard of defense defense defense will fade away and we can start enjoying football in the 21st Century. -

Who's more overrated...goff or mcvay
RalphWilson'sNewWar replied to Hebert19's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Does he get no credit for helping to attract that talent to Los Angeles? Or identifying talent on other teams that then he works with his GM to bring to LA? All I know is this... Hes the youngest coach to ever make a Super Bowl. He not even 35 years old. His regular season record is 24-8, Overall it’s 26-9. His side of the football is offense whom in two seasons his teams have ranked 3rd and 2nd in Points per game with 2 divisional titles. so he’s never not won the division. No way he is overrated. -

Actually Coach McDermott said opposite. The quote is, “Culture trumps strategy.” ???? -

NFL can get away with that type of game tonight. But that style of game tonight if played on a weekly basis...kills your sport within 5 years. Just too many other venue pulling for our attention. We want excitement , we want drama, we want momentum turns and back and forth fistacuffs. All most of us got were Super Bowl parties filled with patrons ready to pull their eyeballs out it got so boring. My wife said it best. Andy Warhol eating the Hamburger was more exciting than this Super Bowl. Yeesh! It’s not that peopel bought into it...it’s just we don’t want to watch coma inducing defensive borefests. I mean Netflix, Hulu, All Access Networks, HBO, other sports, Amazon Prime, Disney Streaming. And so on. The page has turned. Sure Defensive stand out games will happen. But they suck.

Nobody gets there alone. Way too much of this debate over dividing credit for success into percentages. -
ESPN 2019 Power Ranking; Bills... 29th
RalphWilson'sNewWar replied to Inigo Montoya's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
That’s funny. They have the Dolphins at #22, even when the write up about them admits they are about to go on full rebuild. You would think team about to execute full rebuild would automatically drop to the bottom of any power ranking. -
Defense wins championships
RalphWilson'sNewWar replied to aristocrat's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Defense wins... but why is it never the same defenses, but usually the same offenses? hopefully Allen gets good so fans don’t have to fall back on the “defense” belief to help compesate for never having an offense. hopefully. -

Wade Phillips no headset wade...giving up the season after losing to Indianapolis only to having Indianapolis make playoffs...home run throw back... Is it time for redemption? -
Which is a better investment? Offense or Defense?
RalphWilson'sNewWar replied to iinii's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
This game is designed for points to be scored and the rules are geared to help fascilitate a play field that will allow those points to be scored. You margin for error is severely smaller if you go the defense route. Asking your defense to fight the opposing offense, the refs/rules and current trends is just asking too much over 16, 32, 48 games. you can’t expect to keep 11 guys together for long periods of time and demand they hold the opponent to 14-16 points per game or you lose. Go offense and either win 31-28 or lose 31-28. Either way you will have way more fun with those outcomes then the 16-13, 12-10 outcomes. -
Mayfields Results on the field will determine how this is perceived in years down the road. - If he wins, Super Bowls, HOF...Mayfield will be portrayed as a underdog winner with a chip on his shoulder that fuels him to being the ultimate gamer and clutch performer. - If he loses, busts out of league, back up...Mayfield will be portrayed as an immature brat with mental issues who can’t handle big moments or criticism.

How Offense Took Over the N.F.L.
RalphWilson'sNewWar replied to notwoz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Oh man I have been a fan since ‘88. Went to around 4-5 Games a year for most of the 90s. Attended 1990 season Dolphins divisional game, Both Playoffs in 1991 (Chiefs/Broncos) and stayed for all on Comeback game. Plus many many more. I watch theThursday Game, along with Bills game, some of 425 game, Sunday Night and Monday night. I have play multiple Fantasy leagues and listen to more Sports Talk than is probably good for me. i worded my original post as if I was a General Audience Viewer (my mIstake). Those viewers that NFL doesn’t have their hooks into but who make the difference I feel when it comes to reallt putting the rating numbers over the top. Those Re the viewers who feel neither a nostalgic pull to watch no matter what or a hometown obligation to watch no matter what. Worded the original poorly, but they are the ones who have many different outlets vying for their Thursday, Sunday, Monday attention. those are the viewers I feel you aim to snare by making the game more bright, colorful and exciting. Star Power with big plays, exciting up tempo scoring and a back and forth narrative that allows all four quadrants Of viewers to enjoy (Fans Of Team 1, Fans Of Team 2, Fans Of Other Teams, General Viewers). -
How Offense Took Over the N.F.L.
RalphWilson'sNewWar replied to notwoz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
There are so many entities trying to get my attention and my dollars on any given Sunday in the Fall. Movies, TV Shows, Streaming Services, Music Concerts, Day Trips, The Internet, Family Functions, Friend Gatherings The NFL needs to work to get my time, attention and dollars and that requires the product getting more intersting/inticing/exciting.
