  1. as i get older i think i can watch episodes i've seen 23 times already and they will seem new to me
  2. this is arch-blasphemy to the large % of Bills fans who think he was better than Jim Kelly....
  3. despised him as a player, his TV work is good though rock on!
  4. looking at the Crave exhaustive listens i see show recaps I have no clue about from the 2nd and 3rd seasons, might be worth a spin during holidays and heading into studies again.
  5. all local NFL radio work is detailed and worth a listen the TV puppets fly in on Friday and get half-baked self-serving interview answers from interns sucking up to the GMs
  6. rumour was the Montreal Canadiens were allowed to open their bench door onto the ice, sometimes hitting the opposing players in stride, allowed to do this until around 1975. and the Flying Wedge in college football killed so many that Teddy Roosevelt threatened to ban football
  7. thanks! i did not know that, weird wild stuff. everyone was shocked it kept going and they had to come up with some characters and somewhat arcs real quick the poolboy refused to do a Spanish accent for his episode and turned it into a big political deal, as far as that went...
  8. it was a good tradition to wake from the Sunday nap to find Pat and John drone on while we all knew the inevitable slaughter of the AFC fast approaching in the SB
  9. i had the 100 Great Stories of Football when a kid, i think it was written in 1950 another was the home team back in the day provided the doctors for pro football until one day the doctor stitched an injured visiting player's tongue to his cheek
  10. the worst are all Canadian pro sports announcers they are trained to scream over anything at any time, i guess the producers believe fans won't stick around unless every second is the most exciting thing that ever happened
  11. like when Jim Thorpe's team showed up with football decals sewn on the front of their jerseys?
  12. they quickly became a solid contender, more so for the Flyers
  13. a few are wake and bake, so those bundles outside their doors, that people's dogs like to sniff at, are best left alone.
  14. odd he wasn't fired and finished in announcing on the spot
  15. waaaaahhhhhhhh injuries.... as if no team hasn't suffered them it's kind of amazing Bama did play at the top level for years before using this excuse i would be disappointed if the Tide wasn't back in contention next year
  16. they win this and they are seriously on the road to taking the division, Ravens have dismantled some good teams coming into this with national praise [norwood wasn't totally the point, it was more that the Bills were the best team in the NFL for those weeks between winning at the Giants and then losing to them, which will probably never happen ever again...]
  17. yup, "mom, going over to Jim's" and under my breath "and then to see the Grateful Dead at Rich Stadium"
  18. i was underage by 3 years in the establishment that night
  19. usually a half dozen boxes filled with "total meal" product are sitting in the lobby each day, not even tempted to take one
  20. This is arguably the most important regular season game since the Bills went to The Meadowlands in December 1990, after winning that one they were the best team in the NFL and held that belt until Norwood biffed it.
  21. I don't want nothing to do with packages left out for my neighbours, might get sentenced to hard time if i took them....
  22. i did a half-hearted search for Frank episodes and read the wheelchair was his first appearance as a character, so Stiller's intro was later in the booth going on about his silver dollar collection and the eternal "then let him have bananas on the side!!!" in the hand modeling episode Mother Constanza showed up earlier in The Contest. Jerry's dad was different but is present in all releases Larry, voice of Steinbrenner, rejects the written-on money at the newsbooth, and a few other pop-ins.
  23. Best: Curt Gowdy was the best play by play for me in any sport Merlin Olsen as color for the NFL Harry Kalas for baseball, there isn't even second place Worst: Enberg Diefdorf for color, it was a great time when he told us 8 times in about 15 minutes that a playoff game cannot end in a tie, what would we have done that night without that wisdom?
  24. the only other person i can think of that was in better shape (alive) than Bruce....
  25. it has to be a joke, nobody could be that much of an incorrigible knucklehead
