  1. not sure about teams but very few fans outside the Bills fanbase care to see the Bills play
  2. certainly the franchise is serious bear in mind that a key strategy is Brady retiring and the Pats going down the tubes, so 7-9 could win the AFC East for a few years
  3. nah, some minds are just tightly focused on a given immediate task and loosy goosy the rest of the time, they used to like to drink a lot after the game the outsiders have always been my favourite, those great talents with minds you couldn't corral, like Dick Allen, Bill Walton, Barry Bonds, Phil Esposito, George Bell...
  4. and yet we still watch it
  5. Stern helped the game become a major sport in the US, Bird and Magic certainly helped the cause. Until the mid80s the Buffalo CBS affiliate would tape delay the Finals games on weeknights and play them at 2 in the morning. I remember staying up till 3 in the morning to watch Magic's game 6 in the 1980 finals and Bird's first title in 1981.
  6. change "reflection" to "deflection" and "rational" to "bat *****"

  8. He was the mastermind that dreamed this fiasco up on behalf of the NBA... "The owners of the Spirits, the brothers Ozzie and Daniel Silna, struck a prescient deal to acquire future television money from the teams that joined the NBA, a 1/7 share from each franchise (or nearly 2% of the entire NBA's TV money), in perpetuity. With network TV deals becoming more and more lucrative, the deal has made the Silnas wealthy, earning them $186 million as of 2008, according to the Cleveland Plain Dealer, and $255 million as of 2012 according to The New York Times. (The NBA nearly succeeded in buying out the Silnas in 1982 by offering $5 million over eight years, but negotiations stalled when the siblings demanded $8 million over five.) On June 27, 2007, it was extended for another 8 years, ensuring another $100 million+ windfall for the Silnas. In 2014, the Silnas reached agreement with the NBA to greatly reduce the perpetual payments and take a lump sum of $500 million. In the last few years before the lump sum agreement, the Silnas were receiving $14.57 million a year, despite being owners of a team that hadn't played one minute of basketball in more than 35 years. " a few have joked about how many profanity-laced meetings spent screaming at subordinates that Stern must have inflicted to face the music over 3 decades.
  9. by the final score i gather Wisconsin had to throw the ball 5 or more times with purpose?
  10. all these people are like Barry Melrose when in the pre-gamer he would tell us the Rangers would win easily tonight, and when the Islanders won in the post-game he would say he knew the Isles would easily win all along.

  15. The NBA has done a ton of work with the Briggs-Myers and the same personality type dominated for many years with Isiah Thomas, Stockton, Bird, Jordan Mutombo was the only NBA veteran for over a decade that matched my result, I was told I overthink everything out there when I was redshirted after a few months at University, in reality I was totally lost on learning 58 variations by chart
  16. was thinking about a team ditching its QB, could only come up with the Bears turning their backs on Flutie when Dexter Manley was offside and continued to tackle anyway in that playoff game
  17. Tua will return unless he makes remarkable progress congrats to Bama, the Patriots of the NCAA, no problems with the last minute TD, good game for 3 quarters

  19. Certain personalities work better in key roles For the highest levels of sports it’s seems that a mind that doesn’t think much, but reacts quickly and optimally to each given situation is best And you can’t teach that
