What is better, no guns, or more guns?
row_33 replied to Security's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
The thing to understand is that gun control isn’t about saving lives. It’s about humiliating the deplorables and keeping them in their place. It’s culture war of the crassest kind. . You crazy Americans.... -

Awhile back a local Honda dealer let his son and friends drive 3 new Preludes to another dealer about 15 miles along a major Canadian highway, all three traded paint and crumpled a bit at a speed a tad above the limit. I passed them them while their cars were at rest on the shoulder. -
Peter Gabriel or Phil Collins?
row_33 replied to Royale with Cheese's topic in Off the Wall Archives
I can’t complain about a run from Trespass to And Then There Were Three And Duke and Abacab were good albums and Peter and Phil solo work was separate genres but enjoyable as well guess the only complaint is just that sellout Phil was everywhere at the time and very very annoying? -

Peter Gabriel or Phil Collins?

No no no. between Gabriel and Phil’s pop dreams was a third era of Rutherford/Banks writing with Phil singing. it deserves its own recognition and is a bit below the best of Gabriel’s work -

Peter Gabriel or Phil Collins?

Wasn’t thrilled with most of Lamb at the time, first 3 “Phil” albums were mainly written by Banks and Rutherford finally allowed to get flowing. They are excellent. phil couldn’t drum and sing these songs so they hired Bill Bruford for first year tours. -

It’s how we rhapsodize when playing music critic? Good find -
My uncle’s surprise birthday gift was third row for Tom Jones around 1968, his fiancée thought it would be fun. must have been about 10 percent men in the crowd and the women screamed the whole time and threw panties and other interesting things onstage the whole time

Less thrilled with Gabriel G and his solo work as I age. best G song ever is Dance on a Volcano, good fun figuring it out on my own for many years as a crummy drummer. Phil’s later G and solo gains in enjoyment as time passes. my Lord of the Rings, punk rock days are over... -
Morris, Kirk Gibson, Tim Raines all in their prime would have put in pinstripes in a heartbeat Frank Constanza did a better job with Big Stein (voice was Larry David) forgetting his son was missing for days. Every good team made interesting trades that weren’t ripoffs as they couldn’t sign free agents. Yankees showed up as the best teams fizzled, just like Jordan had to wait for the Celtics and then the Pistons to fall apart from old age before he could win

I usually go with a set time to stay and leave when we hit it, I’m never in thrall to any band and enough is enough springsteen I gave 2.5 hours a few years ago in Hamilton.and that was enough for me

You are asking a lot of TV to expect what you want The Reagan Admin was filled with brilliant people and WW2 brass, made for excellent discussions all the way around, same for Papa Bush this all died the second Carville was everywhere, screaming and interrupting without realizing the other person often agreed with him

A pair would bring in 3 two-fours of Canadian beer, and split it Shouldn’t be a surprise, look at what the very tiny Brit rock stars were able to pack away in booze and drugs......

Realizing almost all the audience is overweight people over 50, in flip flops and shorts and t-shirt, that is gross and then they stand and boogie the whole concert

Isn’t it always? GYBR is the other album in rotation
