a recent "science of kicking" has clearly developed and the conditions on the field are pristine (mostly) so it is more automatic, to the point that the NFL had to change the rules.
Mike-Mayer (not brought over in the quote) missed a late FG for the Bills and as he got home a fan ran over and punched him for costing him the point spread wager that day
David Foster Wallace, my favourite novelist of the last 50 years (RIP), wrote some great things on tennis, he was a good player in his youth.

but coach Knight, Bobby if i may?
what's so wrong with
1) an 8-10 record
2) losing to Purdue
3) losing on Monday night and
4) being run into the ground at the next practice like we can't mother ***** believe?
just found out that a sequel to Sanford & Son (Sanford Arms) had 8 episodes made and 4 shown before it was mercifully axed.
Redd and the son went on to other projects, leaving Grady and Aunt Esther to work it with new cast members.
And a local station is airing 5 of these 8 masterpieces after the end of the exhaustive daily run of S&S.
PVR is all set to go....
------------------------------------
i can't even remember the context but last month a game showed a shot of the Cincinnati Redlegs logo from 1957.
The announcer said "gee, i guess the name Reds was chosen a lot closer to today then i ever thought."
nobody was around to tell him that was the team name 1953 to 1959 due to the Communist Red scare, Cincy went and changed the team name because of it...
sigh.....
very disappointed to see that kids under 20 can't figure out analogies
must make it tough to talk to people beyond truncated scientific fact, or try to close read a poem
let alone not be able enter the world of love and emotions or develop a spiritual angle to one's existence
